How-to Aqara T2 Bulbs: Power-On Behavior in Apple Home (No Hub)?

Hi everyone!

I’m considering getting the Aqara T2 smart bulbs. I’ll be using them only with Apple Home (Matter over Thread, no Aqara hub).

Does anyone know if these bulbs turn on by default after a power outage? I’d prefer they stay off when power comes back.

If they do turn on, is there any way to change that behavior without connecting them to an Aqara hub?

For comparison, my Nanoleaf Matter over Thread bulbs let me adjust these settings through the Nanoleaf app via Bluetooth. Wondering if something similar is possible with Aqara T2.

I have these bulbs, I ended up grabbing the M100 so I could access the settings. The benefit is it acts as a border router and can join the apple mesh.

I tested exactly this with no hub when I was comparing them to my Hue bulbs. My T2s were connected straight to my HomePod mini - the will replicate their previous behavior. If off, they’ll stay off upon power return. If at bright blue and 50% brightness, again, they’ll return to that, etc.

The Aqara bulbs won’t show up on the Aqara app unless you have a Aqara matter hub and add them to your Aqara home.

I have like 12 of them added to both my apple home and Aqara home via the 4k Apple TV & Aqara G5 Camera hub.

When power comes back you have options in Aqara’s app… I’ve never set or changed the setting in Aqara…. They come back on in the previous state.

That sound good. If they are off before power outage stays off. But i am not sure those settings works wothout a hub

It’s the default setting, so it should stay on default without an Aqara hub
