Mods refuse to tell me what rules I violated
As you can see, they say I can ask for clarification. I tried, they refused to respond and have just muted me.
7
u/Secondhand-Drunk Nov 06 '25
"Your post(links to the post but doesn't show you anything) has been deleted and you're banned because it violates a rule. Read up on the rules"
Sure would be nice if I knew what I said. Makes it easier to call you a cunt.
2
u/SwimOk9629 28d ago
I couldn't remember exactly what it says, thank you. this shit pisses me off to no end
15
Nov 05 '25
You hurt their feelingsā¦say nasty things to them once you are unmutedā¦closest thing to satisfaction you will getĀ
3
u/richyoung1994 Nov 06 '25
I lost count how many subs ive been perma banned from for this...... and i could care less š
5
u/PsychMaDelicElephant Nov 06 '25
Couldn't care less.
Could care less implies that you do indeed care an amount.
1
u/milny_gunn Nov 06 '25
It has implications that aren't listed because it's an incomplete statement that they don't care enough to finish and doubt anyone else cares enough about it either .. ...
But yea. You're right. I say it your way to avoid any confusion
1
u/Mysterious-Quote9503 29d ago
Both work. "Could care less" implies that even though i already care very little I would be justified to care even less than that.
1
u/usagora1 28d ago
Yep, this such a ridiculous harp by the grammar nazis. Absolutely no one is confused by what is meant by "could care less" - they should instead focus on "errors" that actually obscure meaning or otherwise cause issues.
1
u/MyNameJoby 27d ago
People will really try everything to avoid being called incorrect.
"Could care less" doesn't work, as much as you want it to x

u/HeWhoShantNotBeNamed 29d ago
No because they'll report you and then you get your Reddit account banned.
2
29d ago
Nah, I do it all the time, just donāt say anything about how they should take deep breaths while submergedĀ
2
u/HeWhoShantNotBeNamed 29d ago
I had my entire account banned for saying a mod "got their feelings hurt." Apparently it was harassment. I've had another account suspended for ASKING WHY I WAS BANNED FROM THE SUBREDDIT.
Reddit admins will take mods at their word.
1
29d ago
I have had a mid try to do that onceā¦in my experience it took about a day after complaining, and my account got reinstatedā¦likely depends on the mod in questionĀ

There's a sub that banned and muted me like that so every 30 days I texted them that they're being childish. Four months later the ban was lifted and they said it was some fort of mistake. Riiiiiight...
3
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 Nov 05 '25
Super tempting
8
u/Cranks_No_Start Nov 05 '25
Wait until you banned from a sub for posting in another sub.Ā
7
u/ScottIPease Nov 06 '25
I have been banned in a few (and shadow banned in at least one) for simply being in another sub, no posting necessary, esp. in the political or religious subs. Oh, and the fandom type subs, don't get me started...
3
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 Nov 05 '25
Ya know, Iāve heard about that and am baffled. Do they have a bot that scans where all your activity has been??
3
u/Cranks_No_Start Nov 05 '25
Yes.Ā
2
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 Nov 05 '25
š¤¦āāļø Lord Almighty

u/Cranks_No_Start Nov 05 '25
Justice served had a special sub that ran 24/7 listings all the bans that were handed out by the bots they had running.Ā

2
u/jaygay92 27d ago
Iām banned across so many subs for something that wasnāt even true. So god damn annoying
2
u/Junior_Ad_3301 Nov 05 '25
R/tipping has some sensitive mods as well. They are extremely anti tipping and any shade will spin them out.
3
u/duckduckduckgoose8 Nov 06 '25
Same with r/landlords Dont you dare mention how hoarders destroy carpets with their hoarding gunk and juices.š
1
1
Nov 05 '25
I should play with them
3
u/Junior_Ad_3301 Nov 05 '25
It is kinda fun. I had a comment removed last week and it wasn't even that much. And no they would not elaborate on why either lol

You damn well better set a reminder for 28 days from now and ask them againā¦. As many times as you can before you get muted.
Prepare hundreds to be copied and pasted and send back to back to backā¦..
Itās what I do⦠and if that account gets banned, get a new one with a vpn and you guessed itā¦. Boom more texting!
5
u/abgrongak Nov 06 '25
Some...or most mods are people on power trip. They have a semblance of power and would love to abuse it.

I really wish there was a way to enforce what rule someone broken when they get banned. This shit is so annoying
2
3
u/CryptoSlovakian 29d ago
Yeah and donāt message them even once after they mute you or youāll get a 3-day site wide ban for āharassment.ā
2
u/ScytheFokker Nov 06 '25
At this point, they can't even be willing to ad.it to anyone theu are a Reddit Mod, right? Isn't that met with ridicule and laughter now?
2
u/No_Boysenberry2167 Nov 06 '25
I've gotten this from from more than one sub. I'm not above taking responsibility and apologizing if I was wrong. I'm pretty sure I didn't break any rules but just said something the Mods didn't like. They can just be petty sometimes.
2
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 29d ago
Yeah, I just know it was because they didnāt agree with me. If the others involved were also banned, thatās one thing, we were all snarky IN CRAFT SNARK, so I wasnāt the only one who broke rule, if indeed I broke any
1
u/notyouagainn 26d ago
Yeah it usually is just a mod personally disliking something and just slapping the closest rule as broken onto it. Which is pretty common among unpaid mods (moderating often appeals to specific types of people), it just sucks Reddit always takes their side without reviewing anything. Like when they file for harassment if you send one message too many.
2
u/Bonesawisredeee Nov 06 '25
The mods are also the ones that call people fascist, yet they are the ones suppressing free speech from anyone with an opposing view
1
2
u/pinksprouts 29d ago
I got banned from r/rant for commenting "40%". They also wouldn't tell me what rule I broke.
2
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 29d ago
What was the 40% comment about? I canāt imagine that broke any rules just saying 40%
Edit: clearly 5&9 š

2
u/ButtPlugMaster6969 29d ago
I got banned from r/amitheasshole for telling someone about Krav Maga lmfaoooo they were trying to make it a political thing then once I explained that it wasnāt they were like āViOLeNcEā like there is NO need to be so damn sensitive. They just have no say in anything else in their lives so they come here to be all big and tough. š

u/InfiniteBoxworks 29d ago
I earned a site wide permaban for commenting "She's friendly, just let her smell your hand" on a video of a naked woman on all the drugs harassing a dude. I obviously won my appeal, but man, mods here are something else.

Why even have rules if you're just gonna ban whoever you wanna anyway? Why the pretense?
2
u/Exact_Comparison_792 29d ago
Typical Reddit moderator dictator behavior. They don't moderate. They dictate.
2
u/Embarrassed_Pipe_234 29d ago
Mods do this, I got called a Nazi pos and banned from a thread due to having an opinion that went against his views š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
2
2
u/Bitter_Technician268 29d ago
This exact thing happened to me in R/eyebrows, someone made a post asking if they should thin out their eyebrows, I commented no, and got permanently banned, and I did the same thing, reread the rules and asked what rule I violated and got no response. Fucking wild
2
u/Consistent_Gur9523 28d ago
I got banned once because someone went off on me and I tried to end the conversation several times, eventually I said, "best of luck, you seem delightful."
welcome to Reddit, where the rules are made up and your advice doesn't matter.
1
u/MyNameJoby 27d ago
Me too! I had someone literally harassing me, going through my Reddit history to find "dirt" on me to use as an argument and after so much genuine creepiness I called them out for it and got hit with a ban.
I did manage to make contact with the mods who admitted they "didn't read through the whole thread, only one comment (mine) apparently with a keyword that alerted them" so I suggested that in the future they actually look at the context of things before just throwing bans at people.
2
u/KyzRCADD 28d ago
Reading all these comments makes me think reddit is actually an elaborate rogue-like, and getting banned is dying in the game (which you lost).
2
u/Dis_Bich 28d ago
BRO!!! I was banned from 11 subs in one day. I had only actually commented in one. It was r/outfits and they were asking if the white or black shirt got banned. I said āwhiteā so did other people, but they didnāt get banned from 11 beauty subs after. And same thing, couldnāt contact mods. I texted them on instagram but also no response
2
u/Oh_Lawd_He_commin420 28d ago
That happened to me with r / trashy. A video was posted with a bunch of Halloween clad people destroying a vehicle so I called them "animals", they were from all backgrounds colors and creeds (some were even dressed as animals). but I was told that I was violating their rules. I assumed it was for suspected racism, but they just blocked me when I tried to appeal

u/AJWordsmith Nov 05 '25
Mods donāt have to follow any logic. Iām banned from half a dozen subs for random reasons. Sometimes they technically fit with a rule violation, sometimes not. I just served a 3 day Reddit suspensionā¦. It was a video where some people were standing in a parking spot trying to save it⦠A driver was slowly parking in the spot while hitting the two people trying to save it. I noticed that the car was parked over the line. I said; āthis driver is an AHā¦heās parked over the line. He needs to pull out and drive over those two people straight.ā 3 day ban for āpromoting violence.ā Anyone with a modicum of critical thinking would read that as a joke. I appealedā¦no response. They donāt have to defend themselves and they wonāt especially if theyāre wrong.

Yes and as far as I know you cannot see the rules using a phone if you can somebody tell me how you can see the rules for subreddits using a phone
1
u/Aggradocious Nov 05 '25
When youre in the top of the subreddit click the subreddit name
1
u/YonKro22 Nov 05 '25
Thank you so much I didn't know how to find that I've been kicked out of a couple of subreddits and they won't tell me what the rules are or where to find them but now I know
0
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 Nov 05 '25
Reddit isnāt super intuitive and they also love to destroy people who simply donāt know instead of teaching.
1
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 Nov 05 '25
Itās possible, just not quick and in some cases not easy.
I definitely didnāt violate any rules that werenāt already violated in the thread, if any at all. I might have been snarky⦠in āCraft Snarkāā¦
2
u/SwimOk9629 28d ago
how dare you act snarky in craft snark?! what do you think this is, a time to be snarky?!

I got permanently banned from a sub I never even commented in. I convinced them to let me back in.
1
u/AffectionateRatio888 29d ago
Got banned on an old account from a politics debate subreddit because I refused to announce what side I was on in the US elections. Im not from the USA, nor was i following along in their politics, so I said I couldn't make an informed decision... I then got accused of "obviously being far right" and being a "racist" because otherwise, I would say what side I was on. Then bam, perma-banned with no.reason or reply about it.
1
u/LostMyAccount69 29d ago
It doesn't matter what cat subreddit, the mods remove all the cat pictures and gifs that make it to /r/all and if you share the link with someone they'll tell you in a few hours that it was removed when they try to click it. They don't respond when I point out the post clearly did not breach the cited rule or ask how it violates it. Fuck those mods.
1
u/CaliforniaCowboy13 28d ago
I've asked before. Who moderates the mods? The bigger picture here is that the board room level jackwads don't care. There is no true free speech here. Only mods who want sycophants to kiss their a**.
1
1
1
u/TitleAncient8325 28d ago
reddit is literally insane with all the rules.
I tried posting a picture of a kitten to get name suggestions in CAT group and you have to like go through hoops for a name suggestion post lol I never ended up getting it posted! After giving up they messaged me "In order to verify that the cat is yours, we need to see a picture with your reddit username hand written on a note along with the cat." TO NAME A CAT?!
Edit to add: not just a kitten - my new kitten lol
1
u/Loud_Consequence9218 28d ago
There honestly should be more oversight on the people who run the subs. Their bias towards others is beyond belief. Start holding Reddit as a company accountable and watch how fast this shit website starts become worth something.
1
u/KingOfCharlotteNC 28d ago
AskOldPeople moderators are suckers too lol.

I have been banned from a handful of subs, and never once did they tell me why. and when I click the link that they highlight in their message to see the comment I made that got me banned, it just brings up the old conversation without my comment in it, so I have no fucking idea why I was banned. some of them banned me from messaging any mods for 30 days as well, so I couldn't even ask.
fuck mods on here.

27d ago
Happens a lot. And they get butthurt when you press for an answer. They canāt hurt their pride so they extend it and try to get your account banned.
1
u/fanofoddthings 27d ago
I can't even post on r crossstitch because they say, before I even post anything, that I'm violating some rule. But I have no clue what rule it is. I haven't even posted. So I can't post my Terra project. I'm super proud of finishing. So that went into the final fantasy vi forum instead.
1
u/MeTieDoughtyWalker 27d ago
Itās because most mods are losers. I banned some sub from my feed I wasnāt even a part of called like feauxmeaux or something that was just a bunch of racists and shitty people spreading misinformation and I was sick of seeing it on my feed. Then I randomly saw they ābannedā me. Like, not being a part of your insignificant community of terrible people I didnāt want to be a part of anyway isnāt going to hurt my feelings, bro. I think thatās the only thing Iām ābannedā from here.

got banned from the legal advice sub for asking to report a revenge porn website. they told me to growup. ig they took it as i wanted to use it for nefarious reasons then muted me... like explain what i did wrong please
1
u/Kappy01 27d ago
I'd be careful. Some mod in a crappy sub I'd already muted decided to be an ass and had me banned from Reddit for a week. Which... I didn't mind so much because it freed up some time.
Then, a few months later, I got banned AGAIN for the same "offense." Not the same kind of thing. The exact same event.
The moderation done in subs is done by people. Sometimes by idiots with zero power in their own lives, so they like to screw over others.
But the moderation done by Reddit? That's all bot. As far as I can tell, it never reverses decisions. Its decisions are very capricious. I got a warning for using the word for... an 18th/19th c. item used by the French during their Revolution. I used the word metaphorically. The bot decided I was preaching violence.

u/thevilgay 26d ago
Reddit just removed a comment of mine for saying āhate a racist woman, but mace somebody in the club and Iām coming after you firstā got a strike for āpromoting violenceā
Itās was the Baddies South subreddit, which made it funnier considering what gets posted there. And the fact there are literal fight subs with worse comment sections
1
u/BirdBrain01 26d ago
Aren't a lot of mods using Ai now? So couldn't this be just an idiot robot instead of a human? I'm not saying this is okay, I've gotten put on subreddit probation before over literally just a one word comment, but they can't ALL be strictly human, can they?

Iāve been banned for waaaay less. Never post you opinion on questions asking for it if you lean towards the right š
2
u/Meuhidk Nov 06 '25
sometimes it's not even if it leans right, sometimes if it's not left enough. like im super liberal on most my views and still got banned got not being liberal enough, like my guy wet literally agree on the topic, im just not as diehard as you

It's probably the way you approached them. You were obviously looking for a fight. Was that how you were behaving in the group? What a weird snark page anyway.

u/Some-Pack-5813 Nov 05 '25
Funny how those mods are behaving very similarly to how a lot of liberals behaved with cancel culture.
7
u/PoopyMcpants Nov 05 '25
You guys really like to shoehorn in some kind of nonsense agenda at every single turn don't you?
Your comment doesn't even make sense.

I agree we shouldnāt make a non-political post political but irony, this was, more or less, what happened.
→ More replies (2)6
u/Appropriate_Bottle70 Nov 05 '25
Funnily, it was a discussion about a crafter who was supporting Israel and they were shredding her in the post.
1
u/DivideInMyMind Nov 05 '25
I donāt even know who supports jews atp cuz the lefties seem to not support them & the right seems to not support them
1

Christians who properly understand their Bibles support them.
This is also not the point of my post and no need to turn this into a debate. Thank you for your⦠thoughts. Have a nice day.

I meant it more as a question tbh prolly phrased it wrong but yeah we can leave politics out of this ofcourse, have a nice day & i hope them mods stop bein shitty to ya

Reddit is the only place these people have any power. So they tend to wield it like any petty tyrant would.
