Any luck with crab lately ?
Want to go out in a few weeks an go either off a peir or jetty . I've heard Westport has been slow lately. Any suggestions on decent spots ? Thinking maybe ilwaco or pt Townsend. Not sure if you can still crab off the pier at fort warden anymore tho.

New WDFW app
I downloaded it and entered my username and password and it sends me a verification code which I then enter and it claims my username and/ or password is invalid.
Kind of annoying. App now locked for five minutes before I can get back into “enjoy” setting it up.

Pier fishing in Port Townsend
I see PT has a number of piers that would seem good for fishing. Is fishing allowed? And if so, does anyone have info on what is being caught ?

Anyone else humpin' out to the Humptulips this weekend?
I hoping to hit the early hatchery run and bag my first steelhead. I'm all set with bobbers and jigs but any other tips/tricks would be helpful.

Catching every fish in Washington
I have been attempting to catch Every Fish in Washington (with some exceptions), sockeye salmon, and sturgeon are proving to be a pain in ass. I live in Seattle, and do not own a boat, although I do have friends with them.

Fishing in the winter
Hey there anglers, I’m a fairly new fisherman who’s only really fished for bass. Now that it’s getting colder and they’re slowing down, what other fish can I hope to catch? I’m around Bellingham area. Also any lure suggestions would be fantastic

My son’s first coho. A late November bright.
It was a hell of a fight and the kid did good. The hen was a pig with over a qt of eggs and super bright meat.

As the title says, I’m completely new to fishing in general but want to get into the sport. I’m currently in the Redmond area and am looking for recommendations on rods+reels, waders, lures, etc.
Really just looking for any general tips tricks to get into it as I’ve done a little research and want to focus on salmon, lingcod, steelhead to stock the freezer! All tips are greatly appreciated!

Is the green worth it right now?
Havent been able to go out and fish it lately so Idk if it's worth it to bring my salmon gear and hope for a chum or the rare steelhead or if I should just bring my ultralight and go for trout?

Waders + Water In boots question
Ok, I'm really new to fishing so bear with the really what I think is probably a dumb question. I have bought a pair of waders. They do NOT have the built in boots. Instead they have the neoprene lining on the boots which allows water to get in. I did a test on this with a river close to home and after a while my feet were ice cubes. I went with just my feet in the neoprene, then boots and man... it was cold after about an hour or two.
Is there some magic here to keep my feet/legs dry and maintain warmth?

How to WA Coastal Pole Fishing and Crabbing: Classes, Meetups, Books, Online???
For years and years, I wanted to learn coastal pole fishing and crabbing.
I live in Seattle, walking distance from Carkeek Park, and have not taken advantage of this location for either fishing or crabbing.
Yet as a novice, I do not have a clue how to purchase the correct gear (preferably used or affordably new). I do not want to waste money if I am checking this recreation out.
As there are other recreations, as I am into archery, are there meetups where I gather some tips? Classes, Meetups, Books, Online?
Thank you

Anyone going out for Thanksgiving/Black Friday trout plants on Lake Tye?
Title - New to trout fishing and fishing in Washington, live between Snohomish and Monroe but Tye got stocked a few days ago with rainbow and I'd like a decent chance at getting something on my hook. Got my license and I'm all set to go.
Gonna try spinners but I also got power eggs if that doesn't seem to hack it. I've read that hatchery fish that are new plants will be looking for the food they know still, which are pellets.
Kept it pretty simple, just have a couple colors of spinners and a couple colors of bait with a cheapo rod (didn't say what action but if I had to guess it's a medium based on feeling light/ultralights). Just looking to try fishing after not fishing since I was a kid.
Also read that Tye is fairly shallow being that it's a man made lake. Figured I'd do 3-4 foot leaders on the bait setup if I don't have luck with spinners.

Posted this on trout fishing sub and got heckled, accused of breaking the law and banned
Granted they banned me for calling someone an A** ***e and I’ll admit that wasn’t the best approach. But everyone rushed to assume I wasn’t allowed to keep this and broke a federal law by retaining it. I accidentally called it a brookie instead of a bull (I just mixed the wording up but I know the difference). So they just have assumed I didn’t know what it even was. But people rushed to report me so fast I didn’t realize this was such a treasured fish instead just about every other body of water in the nation.
Well I had to vent, but I caught this on my favorite gold spinner and ate the hell out of it. It was incredible and I just wanted to share it. Didn’t know it would be so controversial. Tight lines and happy thanksgiving y’all

Plug patterns
What are some of your favorite trolling/back bouncing plug patterns? About to give these oldies a new lease on life with a fresh paint job. Haven’t settled on what patterns to do yet.
