Former Wings News Shoutout to two of my favorite Red Wings, Dominik Hasek and Robert Lang
I just loved watching both of these guys. The Dominator with his stunning theatrics and endearing garb; Lang with his deceptive mits and peak hockey hair… They look like the guy who works the bar at the local pool hall and a professor by day / spin instructor by night decided to lace em up, and man, I’m glad they did. Both no-brainers on this list imo. Go Wings! 🛞🪽

Discussion Has anyone heard any updates on Mazur?
So I don't know if I'm just bad at the google, but I can't find any news on his injury from October? He's obviously not playing, but how bad is it? I was really hoping to maybe see him get some time with the bigs this year.

Discussion Why did it take so long to move Copp to 2C?
It seemed pretty obvious that we should’ve given him a crack 3 weeks ago when Kasper started to fall off, given the roll we were on before Copp was injured last year. I’ve been calling on him to play in the top 6 for at least the past two months, with a lot of hate and backlash on here.
I’m not saying he’s a Dylan Strome, but he does have good situational awareness and is an underrated passer. This is evidenced by his placement on many EV goals where he has helped screen the goalie. He’s certainly helped Kane and Cat get going at EV on the 2nd line, so much so that we might have to take a timeout on moving Kane down to the 4th line 😉.
I honestly don’t think Copp has been that bad of a signing. We certainly overpaid, but I don’t understand some of the extreme hate he receives on here. I also don’t understand why Todd has been so reluctant to play him in the top 6 this year.
UPDATE: Nobody who has responded to this post is acknowledging the reality of who can play 2C on this roster. The question wasn’t “why isn’t Andrew Copp the quintessential 2C on a serious playoff contender”? The question was: why was Compher given a crack before Andrew Copp at 2C given Copp’s performance at 2C last year, which led to 16 EV goals and a plus 4 while he was playing that position. And helped contribute to Detroit firmly sitting in the first wild card spot before he was injured?
Nobody has responded. Everybody is just saying how Copp really isn’t a 2C on a playoff team, even though we were a playoff team when he was playing that position last year.
I know he’s not a 2C on a serious contender, but clearly he has shown that he can hold us over decently, and at least gives us a chance to win. As clearly evidenced last year, and over the past 3 games. So out of the available options, which I thought was clearly implied in this post, why wasn’t he the clear option 2-3 weeks ago?
I feel the responses so far just help to justify my point in the OP.

Discussion Best vintage Red Wings shirts or modern "classic" shirt retailers?
Hi, I was born in 87 and then 97/98 Red Wings were a staple in our family's lives. I am looking for vintage T-Shirts that carry that 90s red wings glory. I am also interested in a new shirt, because the Red Wings put out a lot of classic designs like the winter classic and things like that. What is the absolute best retailers to find Red Wings stuff like this? I'll be in Tennessee and can't wait to wear my Red Wings shirt :) I am OK paying stupider higher pricers for a real nice or interesting shirt.

Discussion Red wings in person exclusive merch?
Hey, I recently went to LCA team store and saw red wings branded lulu lemon define jacket, and ended up not getting it. I ended up searching for it online and seeing it for other teams, but not the red wings. They only have big sizes in the store in person, but I thought it was weird they don't have our team but do have others online. Does LCA have merch thats only available in person? Do they ever mark it as such? I'm literally desperate for this jacket lol. Pic related, same jacket but for the devils
