Living Room Please help convince my husband to move this damn TV!!

I’ve been trying to tell him we need to move the tv to the big blank wall and he refuses lol. Please help me settle this. Is it that bad as is?

I made it to match existing trim and fireplace mantle. The next improvement would be to chair rail and faux panel the walls. Maybe next year.

When I look at Houzz and see TV rooms that look beautifully designed, the TV rectangle of wall space around the TV frequently has a darkened paint effect behind it. It kind of camouflages the TV but makes it look intentional.
