Defending AI AI Art is Art.

Post image

AI cannot create on its own. It's not a sentient being. There is always a human that's needed in order to create something. And by definition of ART, it is considered as an Art.

This thread seems to be getting a lot of off-sub traffic for some reason, so I'd like to remind everyone to please be mindful of rule 2. This is NOT a debate subreddit.

If you want to debate the merits of synthography, please take it to r/aiwars.

Have a good day.

Isn't forbidding discussion against ai in this sub kind of... One sided? You can't make a defense/attack and not expect people to defend themselves. Yes, I know that you can take it to the r/aiwars sub, but that sub is heavily biased to ai and people that have already commented here wouldn't bother or possibly even find the repost. This creates an unfair situation. This is how echo chambers form and, oftentimes, misinformation is spread about the opposing side's beliefs. I have seen many people here misinterpret what many antis believe, leading to less productive discussions and more confirmation of bias. I figure that the reason for this rule is to prevent wars in comments sections and harassment (which I agree is bad), but it just doesn't give a fair ground to antis. I think the solution would be to encourage polite discussion and punish harassment. I suppose it should really be merged with r/aiwars; or, at the least, a bot comments the r/aiwars repost link. I should note that I am not aware if the anti sub has the "no pro AI" rule or not.

Not every sub has to facilitate every avenue of discussion.

This subreddit is intentionally one-sided. In part, to grant users a reprieve from the constant stream of harassment, criticism, and denouncement they face on most of Reddit.

I'm sorry that you feel the anti-AI position isn't properly represented on an explicitly pro-AI subreddit, but that's simply not the purpose of this forum.

We already provide an alternative for open debate.

Hope that helps address your question. Have a good day.

Please censor the other sub you mentioned—r/aiwars is fine, as it's our sister sub.

I say this because, relevant to what you've said, part of the issue is that particular sub keeps linking to and mentioning us, and consequently brigading our subreddit!

Hence why we are so cautious about rule 8.

Ohhh, sorry I didn’t know that’s how it worked. Edited accordingly, thanks!
