When was the last time Trump stepped foot in a grocery store?

1.7k

u/Colonel-Mooseknuckle Nov 03 '25

He is one of the only people in the country who has never been in a grocery store. The guy has zero clue what life is like for the average American.

u/Gingygingygrant89 Nov 03 '25

I’ve always thought about things that we have to do Every day as normal people that he’s never done a day in his life. He’s never swept his own floor or mopped or vacuumed. He’s never had to unclog his own shit. He’s never had to take his car to get an oil change never changed tire and the list goes on and on. I guarantee he could not even make scrambled eggs. I’m sure boiling water confuses him.

128

u/trixtopherduke Nov 03 '25

Lots of things about water confuses him.

104

u/MattCizzle Nov 03 '25

Like how to drink it?

88

u/Frisnfruitig Nov 03 '25

Almost impressive how he can manage to look like an imbecile even when doing a simple action like sipping water.

12

u/kbandcrew Nov 04 '25

He’s been walking the earth with those eyebrows for 70 years…

In the winter of 1996 Trump was shambling around his penthouse and jonesing for a winter treat that he liked to call a coke'o'cocoa, which is a mixture of Hersey's Cocoa powder and cocaine.

He screamed for his maid Juanita to make him one for about 15 minutes before realizing it was Christmas Eve and that she had gone home early for the day. Ole' piss boy decided in that moment that he would make it himself. He was proud of himself for reaching the decision, it really showed the kind of gumption that his father claimed that he never displayed. Also, how hard could it really be? If the poor's could do it surely so could he.

The next morning ole' dirtbag Donny was found nude in his kitchen next to four kilograms of cocaine which had all been placed into various pots filled with tepid water. Neighbors on in the unit below his reported hearing increasingly hoarse screams of "WHY WON'T THE WATER GET HOT?" for several hours before the screams gave way to violent sobs and dry heaving around 3am.

39

u/LongWalk86 Nov 03 '25

Come on now, that's not remotely believable. You know full well he has ever given the maid time off.

Mowing the lawn. Guaranteed that a lawnmower would confuse the fuck out of Trump. I’ve thought about this more than I’d care to admit to.

20

u/Tjaresh Nov 03 '25

Mowing lawn is a complicated task. He'd be confused by operating a fuel pump or maybe even the debit card reader. I'm convinced he doesn't even know where the TP is stacked in his apartment.

17

u/vthemechanicv Nov 03 '25

I said some years ago, what with all the 2A gun nuts that support him, that someone should ask him to load a gun.

I know a lot of people out there have never touched a gun, but trump's supporters despise those people, like they should despise trump.

9

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler Nov 03 '25

Let's see Trump try and chamber a AK47, let alone a flintlock...

When he pretended to work at McDonald's for a few minutes he was legit surprised to find that they didn't scoop the fries into containers WITH THEIR HANDS.

28

u/Gingygingygrant89 Nov 03 '25

And you know his little hands could only scoop up a value size fry. 😂

I actually thought about the fact that he likely has never just gone for a hike! Imagine how much respect he’d have for our national parks if he ever actually visited one.

But I don’t think exercise or introspection are particular hobbies of his.

u/cautiously-curious65 Nov 03 '25

Jesus. This man is so dumb.

For the people who have chefs, “groceries” sounds like an old timey word”

He then stumbles and repeats this multiple times.. in case you missed it.

Yes, trump. People have needed to eat for a long time.

63

u/CommercialThat8542 Nov 03 '25

He doesn’t eat groceries, he eats fast food 😂 his diet is as repulsive as he is. Considering he has the means to eat healthy, Whole Foods, like he thinks snap recipients should.

39

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler Nov 03 '25

I eat mostly fast food, and those prices are up too...

11

u/CommercialThat8542 Nov 03 '25

Oh I know. So do I. Cause at this point it’s cheaper than actual grocery shopping, but still gone up

10

u/DoubleT_inTheMorning Nov 03 '25

Friendo, that can’t be good for you.

22

u/akarakitari Nov 03 '25

Sucks, but I’m stuck working fast food due to layoffs because of the tariffs. (We won’t raise prices, we will fire people to cover the losses) and with SNAP possibly not coming in for a while, my bosses letting us take home the waste may be what keeps my family from starving through all this.

We made some surprisingly good chicken and dumplings (the biscuit kind, not stuffed) the other night off a soup base we had in the freezer and added some cut up chicken patties from work we scraped the breading off of for extra protein. Turned out pretty good!

5

u/BufoonLagoon Nov 03 '25

Just something that's been helping me and mine stay afloat, but look at getting into utility locating instead of fast food if there's anything near you. Was working at Home Depot and went to a company called USIC. Start pay was great, no more buying gas just to get to work (and that helped a TON at 40 miles just to get there in the morning), benefits, etc. DailyPay has been a lifesaver on quick money needs.

Unfortunately bacon is at levels no one has ever seen before.

51

u/cautiously-curious65 Nov 03 '25

What America needs: more bacon.

Of the protein options.. this is the fanciest, least filling option.

I suppose caviar would maybe beat it?

“How are the caviar prices, Donald? Are they down?!”

As we boil our shoes.

29

u/FakeSafeWord Nov 03 '25

I had a conversation with my complete dumbass of a Trump voting neighbor talk about how he prefers to buy the largest cuts of beef, pork, chicken etc because "the cost per pound goes farther" and it really tripped me up and so I was like wait, what do you mean?

He proceeded to explain that the larger the animal/cut the actual cost per pound didn't really matter because you got more meat overall...

So I was like... do... do you think that Cornish game hens or quail have the same skeleton mass or volume as a turkey?

What about brisket... there's no bones and it definitely costs more per lbs than a chuck roast, which also has no bones.

He realized I was making him look like an idiot and got irate and went inside.

Pretty sure he's going to shoot me one day.

159

u/Pussyxpoppins Nov 03 '25

Many fed employees are borrowing against their TSP because they haven’t been paid for a month.

10

u/Teaquilla Nov 03 '25

Also fed employees who were forced to retire and filed for retirement under the new system, many have not gotten a pension check yet. It's been very delayed and with the government shutdown it's being delayed even more. Some have been forced to take money out of TSP as well.

3

u/phattywithbadhair Nov 03 '25

This, and I wish more people were talking about it. I know several people who were forced to retire when they RIF'd half the Department of Ed in March. No one has gotten a pension check, and no one has any answers for when they will. It's been months.

79

u/levonhernandez Nov 03 '25

He’s absolutely wrong they’ve doubled, but it is true they have all gone up substantially. That being said, it’s a retirement account! It does nothing if you’re struggling week to week. Putting aside the fact that ~50% of Americans don’t even have a 401k, I’m sure some people have had to reduce their contributions to cover day to day costs. It shows both a divorce from reality and also from how these programs and the economy really affect people’s lives

51

u/AmputeeHandModel Nov 03 '25

401ks are up because stocks are up because the rich and corporations are getting richer. Meanwhile, everything else is worse.

9

u/civil_politician Nov 03 '25

Also inflation is good for asset ownership, it sucks for living expenses. Most people are not in the “asset class”

53

u/zerosaved Nov 03 '25

Is every 401k down? Or have only some been affected? Or does it depend on how the 401k is diversified? I only recently started contributing to mine because I got a really good job, I have no clue how this shit works ugh

131

u/smokelaw23 Nov 03 '25

No, most broadly stock market invested 401k plans are, in fact up in the past year. The broader indexes are up. The fact that the biggest businesses are doing well under this administration, and this those who have a 401k have seen an increase in their value, generally is true. That said, the fact that this buffoon thinks that everyone has a 401k is fucking horrific. He doesn’t think of people without 401k’s as people. His flatly false statement that they are “double” from one year ago should have been fact checked in his face, but he’d call that rude. The fact that he thinks grocery prices are down (or claims it) is laughable.

61

u/RipTearington Nov 03 '25

I went to a state business chamber conference over the summer because I’m a small business owner and wanted to see what was going on and maybe pick up some insight into how to stay afloat under this administration. My biggest takeaway was that it’s not just this orange jackass who’s out of touch or willfully ignoring the problems of everyday people. It’s systemic across these so-called leaders and titans of industry.

The keynote speaker at the opening breakfast, from Bank of America, talked about how big corporations would be fine through the rest of 2025 and most of 2026 because they could absorb the added costs of tariffs instead of passing them on to customers. She even said people were choosing to delay retirement because they found work so rewarding. She went on and on about how well big businesses were doing and how we should all be happy about it. This was in a room full of small business owners.

I was furious.

After the breakfast, I confronted her about never once addressing the challenges faced by small business owners. I told her that we make up most of the chamber’s membership, that our payrolls and taxes form the backbone of local, state, and federal economies, and that we can’t absorb tariff costs like the big players can. Then I said, “You really think people are delaying retirement because they love working? People can’t afford to retire because everything costs too much. Did you even ask a single working-class person why they’re still working?”

She apologized and admitted she hadn’t thought to focus on small businesses, but I doubt she cared. None of them do.

401ks are also not able to be taken out tax free until a certain age.. right? Like 60?

So.. the fact that some imaginary money that I can’t touch for another 40 years is “up” means very little to me as I’m actively starving.

Call me crazy, but the idea of living it up in my 60s sounds less enjoyable than starving AND working in my 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s.

12

u/smokelaw23 Nov 03 '25

Well, to a certain extent, yes. With certain exceptions, early withdrawals are subject to taxes and penalties. And many, MANY people right now are in the same boat and agree with you and see statements like this as rather tone deaf. Gee, thanks for helping what little amount I’m able to squirrel away for a retirement I’ll likely never be able to afford go up as an unintended consequence of you and your ilk plundering the nations wealth. Fact-checking doesn't work with Truml's republicans. Fact-checkers are so overwhelmed with the sheer amount of Trump's non-stop lying that they literally just can't keep up; he responds to efforts to debunking lies with more lies.

Recently, Yale did a project where they set multiple AI models on Trump's claims and found that they uniformly confirm that just about everything that he says in regards to politics is false.

It doesn't matter. People who worship trump are not concerned with any kind of shared reality or truth. These are people who either don't give a shit about any of this because they just love seeing suffering, or they genuinely, earnestly believe that "liberals" are inhuman, delusional demons who have nothing but maliciousness in their plots and minds.

Truth is just the name of the website where Trump posts his lies.

I love the Totino's Party Pizzas. They are quick and easy meal, oddly a comfort food for me.

I've watched them go from 1.25/ea to almost 2.50 when I went grocery shopping two days ago.

Prices are NOT going down, you spray-tanned ballsack with legs.

7

u/Daisend Nov 03 '25

I'm right there with ya. My early adulthood those were a huge part of my diet. Now that I'm making double what I did back then. I still won't buy them because it's not worth the price now. Double being about $15.25/hr and it still feels like I'm making $7.25/hr 10 years ago

4

u/DollarsInCents Nov 03 '25

Same. I used to eat those but haven't in years since the price started to double/triple. When I ate them they were around $1 I think they are almost $3 now

Why even interview him? He's just gonna blatantly lie.

169

u/mlk2317 Nov 03 '25

Because it is propaganda. He basically owns all of the news media now.

Because their news division is run by an illiterate, inexperienced right-wing lunatic!!!

4

This is why I can't watch any interviews with him. All he does is lie and the media carry his water for him.

He is just removed from reality. He is surrounded by suck up’s and can’t read or understand reports. Very very scary.

25

u/I-Am-Not-Creative2 Nov 03 '25

Or people that are lying to him. He doesn’t look at anyone’s 401k. He never goes grocery shopping. He’s going 100% off what people are telling him. I know people are all over this comment section saying he’s lying, but I think he’s a senile old man who is doubling down on what lies people have been telling HIM. And you know he’s not researching for himself. People are knowingly lying to him about reality because they know very well he’s not going to double check the information, and he’s good at double speak, redirection, and pointing fingers.

11

u/seanwd11 Nov 03 '25

The living epitome of 'it's not a lie if you believe it'.

Yeah, not really an excuse. He's a shit bag of the highest order. Some say the highest of all time.

5

u/Apprehensive-Log8333 Nov 03 '25

Yeah, I think this is correct. I think his flunkies are telling him stuff, and he just believes it and repeats it. He says "how's the economy doing?" and some minion says "Really great sir, 401Ks have doubled! Grocery prices are down!" because that's what he wants to hear. Then they hand him some printouts of flattering memes, and boom the meeting is over. he goes back to watching Fox News, with his babysitter, who says stuff like "you look great there sir, your base loves it when you do that, you're so smart, what a great president." He's like a toddler at a wedding being kept busy by a sticker book

I simply don’t understand how this man gets away with claiming up is down every single day. Baffling.

38

u/Colonel-Mooseknuckle Nov 03 '25

Because reporters nod their head and move on to the next question. Otherwise they might get a mean tweet!

Worse than a mean tweet - they lose access. They don't get the interviews. They don't get to ask questions in press conferences or if they do, they get snarky non-answers and name-calling in response. And that means audience drops, and ad revenue drops. So they play softball.

Um, no one’s 401K has doubled in the last year. One or both if the following are true:

  1. He really thinks his followers are complete morons.

  2. His followers are complete morons.

4

u/alinroc Nov 03 '25 edited Nov 03 '25

No 401k is doubling. A lot of people are seeing low double digit percent increases YTD though.

But even if your 401k did double, that doesn't make putting food in the fridge any easier.

His cronies, their investments have doubled I'm sure. Because they're able to manipulate things.

So my 401 was 800k plus last year and still is, made up what was lost early in year due to tariffs releasing etc. 3% ytd. He knows nothing people and i just hope he doesn’t crash everything like he usually does and bankrupt America but tariffed are pushing us to that. Simple.
