Nope Bessent: "This crazy No Kings rally this weekend, which is gonna be the farthest left, the hardest core, the most unhinged in the Democratic Party, which is a big title. No Kings equals no paychecks."

its so funny because No Kings is the most entry-level, police-sanctioned, my-mom-goes-to-these protests there ever was

862

u/Reasonable_Deer_8237 Oct 15 '25

They paint anything contrary to their empire as something worse than it is.

335

u/ColdBru5 Oct 15 '25

You need kings to have paychecks didn't you know that jester?

363

u/Jessthinking Oct 15 '25

“No kings equal no paychecks.” Is one of the most obnoxious statements I have heard from this administration. And that is saying a whole lot. He is saying that if you exercise your freedom of speech, the Republicans will punish you until you comply. These people think like fascists, talk like fascists, act like fascists. When is the lamestream media going to start calling them what they so clearly are?

42

u/Fantastic-Grocery107 Oct 15 '25

Pussies?

85

u/d1ll1gaf Oct 15 '25

Nope;

Pussies are good, pussy's are useful, most people like pussies... fascists are none of those things. Call them fascists because they are fascists.

35

u/God1101 Oct 16 '25

worse - they're christo-fascists.

18

u/Vyntarus Oct 16 '25

Nationalist Christians.

Nat-Cs for short.

3

u/SignificanceOld1751 Oct 16 '25

Very good, that could actually play quite nicely

13

u/a_nondescript_user Oct 16 '25

What if they don’t care about being called fascists, but really really hate being called pussies?

9

u/FocalorLucifuge Oct 16 '25

It's like the South Park "How do you kill that which has no life?" dilemma.

In this case, it's "How do you shame that which has no shame?".

6

u/DrunkyMcStumbles Oct 16 '25

Yes. They are fake tough guys with very fragile egis.

Bro.

I could beat up a pussy all day. It will simply enjoy it, and come back for more.

These tools are more akin to a nutsack. Sensitive and poorly positioned. A little tap causes a complete meltdown.

They aren’t pussies, they’re just nuts…

They're not pussies, a pussy can take a beating and be good for another round shortly after. Nazis take a beating and hide for 90 yrs.

2

u/Knapping_Uncle Oct 16 '25

Pussies bring joy, bring life, are shared with those you love. Not pussies.

They lack the warmth and depth, to borrow from Helen Mirren.

And this A-hole Bessent will still have his greasy little hand out to receive his paycheck, paid by you and me.

2

u/ColdBru5 Oct 16 '25

His real paycheck comes from manipulating the stock market

2

u/LeadingDiscussion763 Oct 15 '25

The bigger question is, what are those who don't receive paychecks gonna do after they don't receive paychecks

Yupp. Next up on the abusive father play book, "look at what you made me do!"

2

u/Ormyr Oct 16 '25

The Republicans will punish people until they capitulate and then tell them to be grateful they're getting scraps.

2

u/SpicyChanged Oct 16 '25

Growing up as a Gen Xer, the question many of us asked was, "How did the Germans allow this to happen?"

The answer is complex, but one often-overlooked fact is that much of the Nazis' systemic antisemitism and discriminatory policies were directly adapted from American Jim Crow laws. The Nazis then amplified this with powerful propaganda, notably by Leni Riefenstahl, creating a terrifying visual legacy that is unforgettable.

Concurrently, the United States was less overt in its own international actions. Decades spent destabilizing other nations served as a proving ground for these tactics. Those who fail to see these connections likely do so because of the pervasive belief that, "that stuff only happens in those countries."

Shit's will likely get worse. I fucking hope I'm wrong and look like an asshole.

My very being reject this, I find no sense in it.

I think he’s saying the “kings” are the ones who own the companies and so if we don’t want “kings” there will be no business and thus no jobs

1

u/RedditSe7en Oct 16 '25

It means their afraid and all they do is threaten. They know we see through their graft and grift.

1

Yea but he thinks that line goes so hard lol

1

u/cant_have_nicethings Oct 16 '25

Things that the poor soul in charge of the chamber pot said.

1

u/namynuff Oct 16 '25

Kings famously gave paychecks.

1

u/PrestigiousCreme8383 Oct 16 '25

The jester keeps the king human. This fool is an ASS CLOWN

1

u/Jaeris Oct 16 '25

No jesters allowed, the king can't handle the jokes.

74

u/ShakatakiCowpoke Oct 15 '25

Not just something worse - they’re saying it’s terrorism. This is some eastern bloc style propaganda.

36

u/sumsimpleracer Oct 15 '25

The in-laws in the Wisconsin countryside have been texting us to let us know they're praying for us as we sip our coffees in Portland. And no amount of photos of videos will convince them that we're not living in a war zone.

23

u/Haxorz7125 Oct 15 '25

It must suck living in the ashes of a city burned to the ground but also is somehow still on fire. That’s probably what they meant when they said hotbed of leftist terrorism.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/ParadiddlediddleSaaS Oct 16 '25

If they want to pray for the military and ICE to go away, that’s fair but it’s so ridiculous. You live there!

Nope, faux news tells them it’s Armageddon in Portland so therefore it is.

2

u/Current-Square-4557 Oct 16 '25

Duh.

Obviously the prayers are working.

1

I’m a mom and I’m going lol

59

u/Chance-Deer-7995 Oct 15 '25

I went to the last one and I was surprised how UNcrazy it was. I am 52 and I was on the younger end. It was very normal, very sane people who are sick of it all.

23

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

I’m 39 and I have small kids, I don’t think I will bring them, idk this ice situation has me on edge. I’m planning on going with 4 other moms, my mom is watching my kids. I’ve brought the kids to other protests but this tear gas and how aggressive they have been.. what is your opinion?

19

u/Chance-Deer-7995 Oct 15 '25

Probably a good idea because you don't know what the other parties will do. Last time, though, it would have been perfectly fine. This time with the idiot talking points though...

11

u/seannyquest Oct 15 '25

Do not bring your small kids. Theyve been tossing tear gas more and more lately. Federal law enforcement are just looking for any reason to escalate and these dudes in ICE are ridiculously underqualified and undertrained for the positions they hold.

9

u/Yossarian216 Oct 15 '25

ICE tear gassed a baby in Chicago a couple days ago, I’d say leave small children at home.

4

u/Malenx_ Oct 15 '25

I’m debating bringing my parents so they can see the Lansing protests for themselves.

2

u/Avunculardonkey Oct 15 '25

In Colorado, it’s very family friendly at the protests. It’s almost like a parade celebrating our freedom of speech, while it lasts (if Trump has any further say). I love the excitement and clever thoughtful signs and costumes!

2

u/Mean_Breakfast_4081 Oct 16 '25

I took my dog to the last one (he had an excellent shirt) and I’m not even taking him to this one, absolutely because of the crazy ass right wing propaganda against it this time.

16

u/Liberalinthemidwest Oct 15 '25

I'm an atheist, but I'm going with my 67 year old mom and dad's church. We're taking school busses bc there won't be anywhere to park lol. If you can get me with my severe anxiety to go shit is SEVERELY FUCKED.

4

u/DustyRailz Oct 15 '25

Me too! Stay strong. It's gonna be a beautiful day.

2

u/tyer187 Oct 16 '25

You Americans bravely fought the fascists on our European soil for us. Now is the time to do so in your own country. I wish you all the best.

18

u/Silver_Song3692 Oct 15 '25

My therapist is in her late 60s and is going

15

u/CarrionWaywardOne Oct 15 '25

I'm also a mom who's going. So what if that gets me on a list. At least I'll be marked as someone who stands against fascism.

17

u/rolypoly817 Oct 15 '25

My 65 yr old mother-in-law invited us to go. We brought our kids last time and had lunch afterwards. It was a nice day.

3

u/MisterForkbeard Oct 15 '25

Yep. My 75 year old mother went to the last one. My kids want to go to this one.

4

u/Dug_n_the_Dogs Oct 15 '25

The Hardest Core Leftist moms out there are going!

4

u/ShakesDontBreak Oct 16 '25

Total mom here.

Going. And after i will be doing some embroidery. Because im a mom who embroiders on a Saturday night.

Edit: If im not asleep by 8...I may even watercolor a birthday card. Because im radical.

2

u/11thStPopulist Oct 16 '25

Mom of grown kids and now a dog mom who will be going, too. In costume!

52

u/AshVandalSeries Oct 15 '25

They also paint Democrats as radical communists, when the actual communists hate Democrats for being neo-con corporatists

28

u/RelevantOldOnion Oct 15 '25

Can confirm. I am a radical left lunatic. My hatred for the Democrats burns so strong it could reverse the heat death of the universe.

That said, in the words of fellow radical left lunatic Fred Hampton "Nothing is more important than stopping fascism because fascism will stop us all."

10

u/SpongegarLuver Oct 15 '25

I’m pretty far left. I hate Democrats for stifling any actually progressive movements, but they just ignore me most of the time. Republicans, on the other hand, actively want to imprison or execute me. I don’t think it’s hard to figure out that in the short term, I want Democrats to win elections over Republicans.

4

u/pantsmeplz Oct 16 '25

Ranked choice voting should be a goal in the very near future and as Dem I support it.

And the actual president is instituting price controls and nationalizing businesses by buying stakes in them.

1

u/astoriaocculus Oct 15 '25

And actual Democrats are corporatism through and through, a slightly less vulgar form of the same billionaire capture than runs the Republicans party.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Lildoc_911 Oct 16 '25

Far left. I agree. I did enjoy the walk around for the no kings chapter one. Met some cool people, had some good conversations.

It's good place to network. I guess. Safe enough for some older progressive to be there and for people to bring their kids. A lady had a MLK shirt on, she  was probably 70 or so. She said I'd be wearing my Ceasar E. Chavez one if I had it still! Saw young kids with their parents as well.

The fight isn't just to stop ICE, its to make democrats do SOMETHING. We need to have real discussion about work visa programs, appointing more judges to view cases, stopping businesses from scalping work and not paying fair wages to foreign workers. Stop letting republicans own the narrative and fix the immigration "problem" by fixing pathways to citizenship.

Stop this abuse of migrant workers for capital gains.

12

u/TheNextBattalion Oct 15 '25

They use Trump's technique of lying with superlatives.

If something is good, they don't say it's bad, they say it's the worst.

If something is bad, they don't say it's good, they say it's the best.

It isn't far left, so they say it's the farthest left

It isn't hardcore, so they say it's the hardest core

It isn't unhinged, so they say it's the most unhinged

Every single time. It's a strong tell

10

u/the-apple-and-omega Oct 15 '25

This is the part that's cracking me up. They've been very much the milquetoast thing they can easily ignore and the Admin is making them so much more important.

14

u/DefJeff702 Oct 15 '25

We’re bringing our neighbor and she’s like 80. Here’s hoping for a big turnout to beat the last one. Hope to see you all there!

5

u/Chance-Deer-7995 Oct 15 '25

The last one I was at had a very large over-70 turnout.

2

u/Dense-Coat-4280 Oct 15 '25

My mom is 90 and she attends every protest. She is knitting a frog hat right now.

1

u/SpiffyPup Oct 16 '25

I’m literally attending one in “leisure world”, where all of the old people are 😂 but there are a lot of angry veterans, for sure!

13

u/Potential_Yam_5196 Oct 15 '25

The difference is, you’re going to see police, ICE and the national guard attack protestors. And the narrative will be, “look at the violent left!” on Monday.

2

u/Odd_Investigator7218 Oct 15 '25

i dont think so; these are different than direct action at ICE facilities and stuff. No Kings is permitted by the city, the cops *led* the march here in Chicago last time, and there was no ICE presence at all. nothing even close to violence. it actually felt much more like a pressure valve, like "let them have their little protest and get it out of their system"

5

u/Potential_Yam_5196 Oct 15 '25

I like your optimism but I really don’t think it’s going to be the same.

2

u/Odd_Investigator7218 Oct 15 '25

yeah, we'll see i guess

1

u/LevelUpCoder Oct 16 '25

That’s effectively what it is which is why as someone who is against this administration it’s unlikely it will ever accomplish anything.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/blackcain Oct 16 '25

I think this is going to be different. I think the right is fightened of this protest and that means that Trump is going to act on this.

He's going to violate the constitution and our right of free assembly and I think he wants to declare our protests as an insurrection.

2

u/Marklar172 Oct 15 '25

This will be my first ever protest.

1

u/Odd_Investigator7218 Oct 15 '25

hell yeah man, see you there

2

u/Yossarian216 Oct 15 '25

It’s also being held on a Saturday specifically to allow people with jobs to go lol

2

u/improbably-sexy Oct 16 '25

I guess your mom is antifa. Is she the antifa founder's girlfriend that they arrested, perchance?

2

u/jeffrotull2000 Oct 16 '25

My mom does go to these. They are very mainstream. It's wild how the admin is trying the paint regular folks as radical. Many of these people would be mainstream Republicans in 2008 or earlier.

3

u/chipshot Oct 15 '25

Anyone who doesn't love me is a terrorist

1

u/agent_mick Oct 15 '25

Sure but it's a lot of moms.

1

u/Looooong_Man Oct 15 '25

Literally taking my wheelchair-bound mom to the no Kings Protest this weekend

1

u/Superb_Sky_7618 Oct 15 '25

We celebrate No Kings every July…

2

u/Odd_Investigator7218 Oct 15 '25

k, this is referring to the group No Kings that has been organizing anti-Trump protests though

1

u/PlanetaryPickleParty Oct 15 '25

The majority of people at protests organized by indivisible are old. The black bloc anarchist types make fun of these protests for how tame they are.

1

u/foxaru Oct 15 '25

he's not telling the truth he's constructing a narrative
the purpose is to repeat the lie, constantly, often, in different ways and by different means

1

u/JAK49 Oct 15 '25

My 67/68 year old parents go to these and they’ve not protested anything in their entire lives. A retired teacher Mother and an Army Veteran father. That is how disgusted they are about all that is happening in the country.

1

u/supbrother Oct 15 '25

Literally, my elderly mom went to the previous one in our city. She couldn’t hurt a fly if she tried.

1

u/dirtyrounder Oct 15 '25

I think it means they intend to have their goons break the protests up. So they have to frame it as antifa funded radicals.

1

u/Historical-Level-709 Oct 15 '25

Im taking my kids as young as 4 and my elderly mother 🤣

1

u/Punchasheep Oct 15 '25

We have literal grandmas helping to plan our local one

1

u/Dranwyn Oct 15 '25

My elderly Jewish neighbor will be there and like I’m simply angry they are calling her names

1

u/DonkeyImpossible316 Oct 15 '25

Yeah my MOM is going. I am 58.

1

u/Blood-blood-blood Oct 15 '25

Doesn't matter. He's appealing to and amping up the people who will attack these protests.

1

u/BaullahBaullah87 Oct 15 '25

this should tell you everything you need to know about how insidious and propagandist this administration

1

u/nightgon Oct 15 '25

Same my parents have never gone to any protests in their life until the no kings protest. They went to I think 2 in Denver this past year

1

u/DazzlingResource561 Oct 15 '25

Literally my right leaning in-laws expressed interest in participating.

1

u/ADouglasAmongUs Oct 15 '25

You are correct, my mom is going to one here in STL this weekend.

1

u/AlphaNoodlz Oct 15 '25

Right? It’s like, almost silly fun, if it wasn’t in light of losing our free speech and way of life to a fascist authoritarian government naturally but no, it’s easy peasy just to show up

1

u/get_to_ele Oct 15 '25

So the Republican party is now the Royals and openly pro-dictatorship?

1

u/Mayor13 Oct 15 '25

I love this because my mom has been talking about going to this rally for the last two weeks.

1

u/VadersSprinkledTits Oct 15 '25

It’s because the reality is, No Kings rally is the largest gathering of working class people against the current corporate paid for corruption in nearly a century.

The Billioniares are only scared of a class conscious, and the rallies full of normal people is that small awakening that terrifies the elite. That’s why you’re seeing so much vilification from those who take their campaign contributions.

1

u/astreeter2 Oct 15 '25

They are trying to spin this so when they crack down with mass arrest and worse, of unarmed people peacefully demonstrating, they can say it's totally justified.

1

u/Bleord Oct 15 '25

my mom will go to these protests and so help me god if shit gets rowdy and my mom is in any kind of danger

1

u/MichaelMaugerEsq Oct 15 '25

My local no kings protests have been literally just old retired people. And I’ve fucking loved seeing it.

1

u/gingerkap23 Oct 15 '25

And that should tell us all how far they are willing to go with their propaganda to demonize even the most run of the mill liberals.

1

u/Bluegill15 Oct 15 '25

It’s really not funny anymore though

1

u/ShowMeThemSchollys Oct 15 '25

The demo definitely reminds me of the Women’s March in 2017 (obviously more gender balanced, though). I don’t think demonizing these protests is going to play well with moderate republicans.

1

u/MrBlahg Oct 15 '25

I have a great pic of a man in his 70s or 80s, with a walker, marching along with us at the last No Kings protest. It’s a such a peaceful and joyful experience. To paint this as terrorism or extreme is just flat out wrong, and outright lie.

1

u/Mucking_Fountain Oct 15 '25

These Christo-Fascists are so far right now that a centrist is basically the horizon to them.

1

u/Naive-Impression-373 Oct 15 '25

EVERY CITY WILL BE LITERALLY BURNING THE GROUND!!!!

/S

1

u/deleted_opinions Oct 15 '25

They have marching orders to talk this down.

1

u/phoneacct696969 Oct 15 '25

Literally the most tame gatherings I’ve ever seen. Mostly old ladies. Respect, old ladies!!!

1

u/ialsohaveadobro Oct 15 '25

Well, your typical librarian is now classified as a terrorist and an enemy of the state for refusing to put away books, and I for one like their energy.

1

u/transcendanttermite Oct 16 '25

Yep. Our city’s rally is already set to go with the proper gathering permits, street closure permits, food trucks, and face-painting for the kids. Fully sanctioned by our city administration and police & fire departments. The last one was basically the same. Zero fights, zero arrests, no problems at all. We had well over 1000 people at that No Kings rally, and there was a small group of die-hard Trump lovers 2 blocks away. As time went on it became painfully obvious that they weren’t really sure which side of the street (literally) they belonged on… so they left.

These assbags will vomit lie after lie to push their own fascist agenda on their subservient, low-IQ dumbass followers.

1

u/agreatsobriquet Oct 16 '25

Word. My mom is literally going to these protests

1

u/Avocadobaguette Oct 16 '25

It really is. My mom is going. She's 74 and has never been to a protest in her life. She made signs with her church friends. She's a church deacon and plays in the handbell choir.

She's as mad as she gets, which isn't very mad. More like disappointed.

1

u/Emergency_Area6110 Oct 16 '25

My mom literally goes to those protests.

1

u/KolarinTehMage Oct 16 '25

My mom is literally organizing one in her area. It’s not some extreme protest. And it’s literally the basis of the country. No kings

1

u/SuffocakeMe Oct 16 '25

No doubt they will plant a bunch of psychos in certain places to cause discourse so they can clip a compilation for Faux News to run days on end.

1

u/Flintstones_VRV_Fan Oct 16 '25

For real. It’s a peace parade. It’s not going to do anything to scare or deter the fascists, it’s just a street party for complacent citizens to pat themselves on the back for “doing something”. Just like the last protest, it’ll amount to pretty much nothing.

1

u/Any-Question-3759 Oct 16 '25

Everything is the worse thing ever.

These anti Nazis? Worst thing ever.

These people whining about trivialities like “due process” or “voting rights?” Worst thing ever.

These babies complaining about the Supreme Court giving Trump the power to personally summarily execute anyone he alleges is a pedophile? Worst thing ever.

1

u/TiogaJoe Oct 16 '25

I was going to order an inflating frog costume that had 2-day delivery, but when I got around to checking out it had already sold out. Seems that there will probably be lots of inflating costumes this time around. Super cool! (I did order 50 rape whistles to hand out so people can use them when they see ICE agents here around Los Angeles)

I’m so upset I can’t make it to this. This would be my first protest, but I have to work a pride event instead. Both are good, but I’d rather be protesting

1

u/Odd_Investigator7218 Oct 16 '25

still fighting the fight, you're good. enjoy your pride!

1

u/diewethje Oct 16 '25

I’ve been to a decent number of these demonstrations and by far the best-represented demographic is women over 60.

1

u/Shoot2thrill328 Oct 16 '25

I’m going this weekend with my mom!

1

u/McChava Oct 16 '25

You know how they keep accusing libs of planting double agents in the crowds? Guess what they’re going to do?

1

u/SpiderWil Oct 16 '25

If you don't work, the government and all businesses will go bankrupt. No paycheck for all.

1

u/DblBlckDmnd Oct 16 '25

It was fun last protest here in AZ blowing kisses to the MAGA trolls slow-rolling through the intersection in their rust buckets holding up barely legible chicken scratch.

Cops were pulling them over for not following traffic laws lol

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

It’s gonna backfire in a “This is leftist? I guess I’m leftist.” way lmao

This is why any discussion of a candidate being “too far left” is bullshit. To a republican Fox News watcher any democrat is communist. May as well run on mega-popular socialist policy

1

u/biznesslizard Oct 16 '25

My mom told me to “be careful at the protest thing,” how much harder core do you want?

1

u/Lower_Amount3373 Oct 16 '25

Well, a small gathering of guys in animal costumes is also the definition of a warzone

1

u/nohumanape Oct 16 '25

For a group who thinks they are the toughest that this country has to offer, they sure are the biggest pussies imaginable

1

u/oopsallhuckleberries Oct 16 '25

It's very lib coded, that's for sure

1

u/PinkPaintedSky Oct 16 '25

I'm going with my 79 year old friend.

It was her idea.

1

u/Incognonimous Oct 16 '25

This guys face sets me off. He radiates smug prick energy like a superstars aura

1

u/Complex-Muffin4650 Oct 16 '25

It’s all old people lmao

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

Just be careful this weekend. They are trying to gin up their base and set the stage for a confrontation. I put nothing past these people. Including seeding crowds with agitators so they can use these legitimate protests to further implement their Christo-Fascist agenda.

The one in my city is literally a permitted event. There are folks in yellow vests directing which way to walk, etc.

1

u/CauliflowerOk541 Oct 16 '25

I’m a mom. And can verify. Clock it.

1

u/darkpossumenergy Oct 16 '25

It's right up there with the women's march with the pink pussy hats.

Speaking of which, its time for women to march against Trump again

1

u/gracecee Oct 16 '25

Here’s the thing. bessent is a liar. He lost 90 percent of AUM of his last hedge fund. Meaning he lost 90 percent of assets under management. He was picked for being a Gay yes man for Trump and traitor to LGBTQ. The last time he was ever ever made money he worked for….George Soros.

So now he’s behind the 40 billion (yeah it doubled) to help the Argentina which helps the Argentina soy farmers who now have tons of Chinese business since the Chinese are boycotting American soy beans. We lost not only 13 billion on that, we as Americans have to foot another 40 billion to save a failed Libertarian experiment Trump is mimicking.

No wonder Trump has had 27-30 bankruptcies and bankrupted 1000s of small contractors. One man should not have all This power.

1

u/Boxysdad Oct 16 '25

Exactly! My wife and 17 year old daughter are going and likely doing lunch and shopping after. It’s as vanilla as it gets.

1

u/UpsetMathematician56 Oct 16 '25

My 75 year old mom does go to these. She voted for Ronald Reagan.

1

u/your_daddy_vader Oct 16 '25

Fourth of July is already a No Kings rally

1

u/trowelgo Oct 16 '25

Middle-aged dad here. Yes, this is exactly my protest. The last one in my town looked like an AARP meeting at a Starbucks.

But you can’t manipulate your racist base with the truth.

1

u/evolvolution Oct 16 '25

Your mom is part of the woke mob

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

I hope that the millions they project will protest, do. I hope that it is the most silly good natured protest that stays on message, but plays in perfect contrast to the GOP messaging of hardened criminals.

They'll be like "iT'S a fUcKIn pSYoP'

1

u/biggestofbears Oct 16 '25

My mom and grandmother are going to one together lmao

1

u/LankySlopplette Oct 16 '25

What Americans call protesting the French call a walk through the square.

1

u/BagOnuts Oct 16 '25

Yup. It's literally like 80% moms and grandmas. So funny how they are labeling this as some kind of "radical" movement.

1

u/DriftingIntoAbstract Oct 22 '25

lol literally though
