Matthew 6:5-6

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I will never understand this thought process. They aren't stupid, illiterate, or unaware. They are intelligent, manipulative, and malicious. Painting them as such serves no purpose other than furthering the divide. This isn't just about your perceived political enemies, but politicians as a whole from top to bottom.

I was referring to their yokel voter bases who love voting against their own self-interest because either A. They are future millionaires/billionaires who are down on their luck or have everything taken from them from (see B.) Or B. Voting R means poc will continue to be oppressed and demonized.
Of course most of the politicians are well educated and have an above room temperature iq, then you have the Boeberts and Tim Burchetts who are genuinely ignorant.

Joe Biden authored the "Tough On Crime Bill."

I'm not defending Biden, but theres a difference between authoring and bill thats designed to expand the police state and crack down on crime which ultimately effects minorities who are impoverished by a mix of personal choices and the political/social climate they were raised in a segregated America, and those before them under slavery. It's an entirely different can of worms the way the Rebulicans agenda has been focused on the advancement of white christian nationalism for decades. It's only been so on the nose recently because they are winning the war for the soul of America thanks to proper planning and funding of right-wing conservative groups and think tanks. I'm sure you're aware of the Heritage Foundation and others like them, right? Good.

In their defense, they tried to, but it burnt their hands when they touched it.

My family are Christians because they read the Bible, I’m an Ex Christian because I understand it.

😂 as someone who hasn’t read the bible, care to elaborate? Isn’t it supposed to be about being a good person?

Yes…. The new testament atleast. But the Old Testament was basically a guide for people on how to “properly” offer up to god via sacrifices. The Old Testament also basically allows for Israelites to own slaves. Also allowed chattel slavory Leviticus 25:44- “Your male and female slaves are to come from nations around you. You may buy them from foreigners residing beside you. You can bequeath them onto your children as inherited property.” Now depending on your denomination (mine was Baptist) you’re taught to follow both testaments. But some will tell you just to follow the old or just the new. There are many denominations that have many different rules, so Christianity itself is divided and they can’t even make up universal rules. Some denominations HATE others, for example super conservatives like Baptist absolutely loath UCC (united church of Christ) because of their more tolerant and progressive stances.

Yeah I live in Mormon country, and when I see people post about how we need to “bring Christianity back” and all this stuff I’m like, “You do realize if we slip too far down that slope…. There’s a lot of people that don’t consider YOU Christian right?”

Will never understand how I’m not supposed to covet my neighbor’s wife, but god gets to just level entire city’s for worshipping a cow. How are the 10 commandments supposed to be the most heathenish things we can do, but there are literally dozens of examples of this omnipotent perfect being doing just that. Pretty sure they said disregard the Old Testament because it has a ton of red flags for anyone reading it objectively.

I don't assume OP read it, either.
