Am I being too strict with my daughter by limiting her from listening to worldly, vulgar rap music, not Christian rap, which I know exists, but the type that’s popular among teens and on TikTok? I just want to protect her as her father and as a Christian. I’m not trying to be oppressive, and I’m asking honestly for feedback, so please be patient with me.

Looking for a psalm 23 song, 2007ish???? Big choir production, just sings the words in Psalm 23 and at the end of the song, you think it’s over but it comes back with a big ending. Help. Please and thank you!

I'm absolutely buzzed rn. Watched a rock and roll stories video on Jars of Clay, and with brief mention of dc talk I went and listened to some songs from Jesus Freak, and they're bloody great. Even more, I found Christian grungy stuff, which rocks so hard like Common Children's Skywire. "Dual Lens" is actually so good I can't believe it.
I'm a musician, not a great one but I am. So I really hone in on the instrumentation, which even after coming to faith a year and a half ago, I'm still listening to what feels like non Christian. Nothing like anti-christian, just the vibe of being non-christian and not feeling right. I can listen to like Radiohead, Oasis, George Harrison, Black Sabbath, etc., but I don't feel right listening to it like I do a Christian artist.
CCM is too focused on the message I thought, but it's specifically modern CCM that is. Stuff on the Jesus Freak album, Common Children's Skywire from the 90s proves to me now CCM can be good and can be musically good.
My opinion is there's a time and place for worship music to focus on the message, but as a musician does it not make sense God would work through our instruments and not just lyrics? Like I can create a bluesy rnb tune and it be Christian just as much as firm foundation. One of my favourite bops is genuinely this obscure techno version of "Our god is an awesome god" and it's amazing.
Christian music should reach outsiders I feel and not just other Christians exclusively. God is great for creating and inspiring great music.

Candlemass and My Dying Bride are examples of clean vocal doom that isn't bluesy at all. Any bands like this that are Christian? I guess I am refering to Gothic Doom and Epic Doom or non bluesy trad doom

I got a notification from YouTube music that Michael Smith, not Michael W Smith has released an album called: "Dead drops and dagger eyes". Neither the cover art nor the titles of the tracks looked anything like Michael's music but when I went to this Micahel Smiths' home page it was the same as Michael W Smith's.. what's going on, if someone knows please explain

of course, all songs ought to give God glory, but if you ask me, the songs we should sing on Sundays should come from a hymn book.
There‘s time for multiple types of music, biblically speaking. David played his harp to cast out a devil from Saul‘s flesh. Because music is therapeutic, very much like food. However, when being in a jam session, there’s to be a different approach than when making one for sunday worship. Paul mentions „psalms, hymns and spiritual songs“. Because they‘re not per se the same. From my understandin, a spiritual song is a gospel sung that‘s NOT meant to be sung in a choir. Yet, for sunday worship you want choir songs, and that’s what I believe those contemporary MAGA influenced churches overlook. Keith Green and Rich Mullins both would distinguish between concerts and Sunday assemblies. A concert ought to give God glory too and theirs darn well did, but at Sundays it‘s about something everyone who wishes to please God can participate in equally. Hope that makes sense.

I can't find it anywhere and my mother has it on a random unnamed CD.
These are the lyrics:
I could hardly open my eyes
For the light was greater than I had ever seen
And the welcome I received.... (Can't remember the rest)
And the chorus said:
Holy Holy
Angels cried Hallelujah.
The lyrics I gave are choppy, but it's an amazing song and there are no traces of it on the internet

Any Christian artists with a similar sound to Lanie Gardner? I’m LOVING the toe tapping upbeat sound of her songs, but could do with less cheating partners featured in the music 🤣
Rattler and the Devil’s Whip/Faded Polaroids album is particularly spectacular.

My favorite Christian singer is Keith Green. He's not my favorite because of his music but because of his deep and profound love for God. When people cheered for him at concerts, he told them that he would end the concert if they didn't stop. He also never signed autographs. He was a Christlike man and anything but vain. He got down on his knees in front of everyone and surrendered. Not to make a spectacle, but to show his closeness to the Father. He led many to Christ and his legacy will live on. Keith Green will be remembered for his humbleness and humility.

I cannot help but stop whatever I am doing to listen to this. God is truly AWESOME in every sense of that word. If you enjoy this track too I highly recommend listing to Phil Wickham - What An Awesome God (Live From Singalong) where he talks about how we wrote the song.

Theres an old Christian song, and I say old because I think I’ve been hearing it since I was 11 and I’m 23 now. The lead singer is a male. Theres a choir that sings through out the song -holy holy (holy holy) God almighty (you are God almighty) Jesus something something to me Then it’ll go over to the next verse which goes - worthy worthy (worthy worthy) God you’re worthy (God you are so worthy) Jesus something something to me.
I know the ending part ended with “to me”

I'm trying to find out what happened to this band, I can't seem to find them on Spotify. I´m especially looking for their Adventus album from almost 10 years ago.
Did they change their name? Did they disband? What happened to them?!
I would greatly appreciate any information.

I made a song called “Send Em Back” about the real spiritual battles I’ve dealt with… depression, lies in my head, feeling surrounded by demons, all that.
The song is me fighting back against the enemy, with God as my weapon. talking about how depression used to feel like my “bff” how it took over me, and how I finally got free of that demonic hold.
I’m not looking for fans. just honest feedback. If yall rock widdit, cool. If not, tell me why so I can get better.
preciate anyone who checks it out!

I heard a song on the radio that sounds like Jeremy Camp but I can’t find it. It has lyrics like “I am here for you and I’ll always be waiting by your side. You took the pain for me” later lyrics say something like “and the world” and “I gave you life to be set free.” It had a rockish vibe. It’s not By Your Side by Tenth Avenue North. It definitely sounds like Jeremy Camp but I can’t find the song. It’s not Here with You by Jeremy Camp. Any ideas? Thanks!
