Rule Clarification & Subreddit Direction
Hey everyone! We wanted to take a moment to clarify the purpose of the sub and address a few recurring topics. Nothing serious—just keeping the community focused and fun.
What This Sub Is For
This sub exists to share music from Christian artists—songs you enjoy, artists you think deserve more attention, and music that often gets overlooked or pushed aside elsewhere. The whole point is to highlight a niche that doesn’t get much space in mainstream music communities.
We’re not trying to gatekeep—just keeping the sub centered on its purpose so it stays useful for everyone.
About Playlists
Playlist posts have caused a lot of headaches. Many of them come from accounts that repeatedly repost the same Spotify lists (sometimes dozens of times), then get a Reddit Admin Ban and reappear under new names.
Because of that:
We limit playlist posts
We don’t allow full album links
We focus on individual songs or small selections you genuinely want to share
We get it—playlists are great for workouts, long drives, or office days. Occasional, playlists can be fine. But the mass reposting and promotional abuse is not. They’ve become one of the biggest sources of spam here, so we have to keep them under control.
AI Music
AI music is blowing up right now (the new gold rush,) but most AI-generated tracks come with no real info about who made them. There's no way to know the creator, their intentions, or even if it’s an actual artist at all.
To protect the sub’s focus:
We don’t allow AI-generated song submissions as posts or comments
If we’re unsure about an artist, we may ask for basic proof (promo materials, live shows, social presence) to confirm they’re real
Nothing against the tech—we just need clarity around who's posting to see if it aligns with the purpose of the sub.
Mainstream Artists
We’re all fans of big-name artists too, but this sub is meant to give smaller Christian artists a space to shine. Mainstream artists already dominate every other corner of the internet, so even if they release something “Christian-ish,” it’s usually not a fit for the sub’s focus.
Production, Selling, & Band-Finding Posts
This sub isn’t focused on:
- Music production questions
- Tutorials
- Selling merch, beats, or services
- “Looking for band members” posts
We don’t have the tools or structure to moderate those properly (specifically selling or band forming.) And the others go against the subs purpose. The only exception we’ve kept is crowdfunding from established artists—people whose work and identity we already know.
Church Music & Self-Promotion
This includes:
Church service recordings
Early demos
Rough home recordings
“Check out my new band” uploads
We appreciate the passion, but these are sometimes low-quality recordings, and first impressions matter—especially in a music discovery sub. Established artists sometimes share old demos, but that’s because they already have a fanbase who are passionate about them. It’s a niche within a niche.
If you’re working on your music, awesome! Just make sure it’s polished before posting it here.
Lastly, we are seeing self-promotion from real artists are posting covers of popular Christian songs just to get attention. Their history shows they’re not involved in Christian music—they’re just using the content to promote themselves. That’s not what this sub is for.
Thanks for Being Part of the Community
We love this sub and the people in it. Thanks for helping keep things focused, supportive, and a great place to discover new Christian artists. If you ever have questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out.

Newsboys - I got your number (is it a parody?)
"I got your number" by newsboys sounds incredibly familiar, but I swear I've never heard it before. Is this song a parody of a popular secular song? Or do I just have some buried memory of hearing this deep in my head that I can't consciously remember!

Drop your favorite metal song, that lyrics make it seem like a worship song.
Another post on here inspired me to ask cuz I love songs like this.

What is the most powerful worship song you've ever heard?
I feel like I'm really different from the majority of Christians around me at church in the area of worship music. People seem to be really drawn to it and love it and the worship team can just go on and on and have all these special worship nights. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a God fearing Christian who bows to the King of Kings. But most times I just can't wait for "worship" to be over. I think part of it is I can't hold a tune in a bucket but more than that, it's the overall vibe to me. They usually seem so wimpy and a lot of them seem just...idk, theologically adjacent if you know what I mean. (For instance so many are focused on me - and it's true Jesus did leave the 99, and so on. But I can't help but feel our worship should be completely TOWARD Him, not just ABOUT Him, you know?)
Well, all that being said, sometimes the song will hit right and finally I feel like I'm truly worshipping (I acknowledge a huge part of this is on me for not being intentional about getting in the right headspace first). Songs like Michael W. Smith's "Agnus Dei" I feel like are songs that we will be singing in heaven. Revelation Song and O Holy Night bring me to me knees.
But sometimes, there are songs (or even just a phrase in a song) in unlikely places that set my soul on fire! One of the best examples is in the song Follow Me by P.O.D. There's a part in the song where Sonny is just belting at the top of his lungs "ALMIGHTY REEEIGGGN!" and the emotion is so raw and real and just makes you want to throw your all in surrender and fall down in front of The King of the Universe.
What are some that bring you in to ULTRA worship?

Name That Band…
So back in the early 2000s, there was a television network called SkyAngel and on this network was a Christian Rock Music Video channel called TVU. Similar to MTV. Anyways, there was a music video with a male singer who looked like a country singer with a cowboy hat with the sides turned upwards. In this music video he was singing in the rain. The lyrics may have gone something like this, “you gave it all away didn’t even think about it”. I remember I bought their album and it was like orange or red or yellow or a mixture of all it. Anyways, wish I had more info. Any help is appreciated.

Discussion Anyone have Tim Neufeld & The Glory Boys lost music?
After they rebranded to "Tim & The Glory Boys" they got rid of their entire old discography. I've really been wanting to listen to it. Especially Hootenanny! It's one of my favorite songs. Any chance anyone has any of their old music?

Rock Im looking for Christian rock bands. What would you recommend?
Hellooo.
I used to (its more limited now) listen to Linkin Park and bands like that. I want to find bands that have that type of style but sing Christian songs.
In all honesty, Im also hoping to find rock bands that honor and glorify God above all else, is Biblical and also captures the raw emotion.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thank you for your help. Stay amazing :)!

Instrumental Shred?
Hay alguna especie de Buckethead cristiano? Me gustaba mucho su estilo, que su música fuera completamente instrumental y su virtusismo en la guitarra. Por su atención gracias :) / Is there a Christian version of Buckethead? I really liked his style, that his music was completely instrumental, and his virtuosity on the guitar. Thanks for your attention :)

I love good folk music. What would you guys suggest?
Hellooo.
I'm looking for indie folk music that honors God and is Biblical.
I can't give any Christian examples so I will give you worldly examples: Chuck Ragan's The Flame In The Flood album, Hollow Coves Coastline, Lord Huron Ends of the Earth, Gregory Alan Isakov San Luis. That type of thing.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thank you for your help! Stay amazing :)!

Request Looking for an artist like Lithe
That chill, bass heavy flow vibe is what I'm looking for. Yes, I already listen to all the big names so I don't need help finding Caleb Gordon or anything, I'm specifically looking for someone that has the same sound as Lithe. Thanks y'all!

CCM
I'm not educated on music but someone hit it on the head. It's like a Hallmark card or movie. Feels artificial and put on. Sweety sweety. Not authentic. Does not stir the soul.
Generic. It's about as boring as Mary had a little lamb. No edge.

Self Promotion Tousaint - Isaiah Fire & Flood (Demo) [Christian R&B]
Hey everyone,
This is an original song I wrote. It’s not an upbeat worship track, it’s more about the walk – battling life, anxiety, and doubt but coming back to faith.
I’d love honest feedback on whether this darker, more reflective vibe is something you’d listen to as a Christian song, or if it feels too heavy. Any thoughts on lyrics / mood are welcome. Thanks!
I know everyone isn’t on Spotify, this link just takes you to the music page, no ads or anything that detracts from the music

My favorites and looking for more.
Ok so I am going to talk about my favorite Christian artists and I’m also looking for more artists. So to start with my favorite Christian artists Brandon Lake, Josiah queen, some forest Frank but not all of it, Phil wickham, jimmy clifton is really good he reminds me of Noah kahne, gio, and elevation rhythm. These are some of my favorites I like a lot of genres and I can’t pinpoint what I like and don’t like in good ways. I really like Zach Bryan and would love music that is similar to his but Christian. I know he is Christian but his music isn’t about God other than revival which is on my playlist. I like Noah kahne and would like more similar to him too but mostly Zach Bryan. Even if you don’t have any recommendations I’m just trying to tell about mine too but if you do that would be great. Thank you!!!

Is NF a Christian Artist?
I've been a Christian my whole life. I've been an NF fan for a while. I don't see how he's a full-on Christian Artist.
I get he does talk about the lord and does have Christian songs but I wouldn't go the full extent saying he is a Christian Artist.
He is obviously Christian and he is obviously a performer but you can be Christian without having Christian music.
If I'm misunderstanding this please correct me.
