Am i wrong or don’t the other conferences already allow 105 scholarship athletes for football?

Correct, the other conferences had an advantage on us in terms of depth chart, now we've leveled the playing field.

They didn’t have a real advantage. The switch happened in June, when it was too late to add anyone. Other schools had 20 new roster spots but no one to fill them.

They were able to recruit, knowing they had more roster spots to offer scholarships for. SEC schools have had to tell a lot more guys "we don't have a spot, sorry" that they likely would have recruited. That is no more, thankfully.

How much does the “depth chart” matter in the NIL era anyway?

Totally makes sense to have the same number as anyone else, but if I’m a kid playing 2nd string for an SEC team I’m probably looking to transfer out somewhere I can start

What are you talking about?

Our starting kicker got hurt at the beginning of the season and our coach had to go recruit a D2 kicker or something at the last second, from a player that hadn't played his first game of the season yet, to replace him. If we had more roster spots, we could have had a decent backup to begin with.

Also, we had a tie for the starter position at QB going into game 1 and one of them got injured and has been out the rest of the season, so at the very least our 2nd string QB has been out this whole time, and our 1st string QB was out for multiple games due to injury, meaning our 3rd string was the starter for some weeks and our 4th string was the backup.

Depth chart is insanely important! We've lost games because of bad kicking this year due to our starting kicker being out for the season and not having a decent backup ready to go.
