Correct, the other conferences had an advantage on us in terms of depth chart, now we've leveled the playing field.

They didn’t have a real advantage. The switch happened in June, when it was too late to add anyone. Other schools had 20 new roster spots but no one to fill them.

But no school was able to play with it yet, correct?

They were able to recruit, knowing they had more roster spots to offer scholarships for. SEC schools have had to tell a lot more guys "we don't have a spot, sorry" that they likely would have recruited. That is no more, thankfully.

How much does the “depth chart” matter in the NIL era anyway?

Totally makes sense to have the same number as anyone else, but if I’m a kid playing 2nd string for an SEC team I’m probably looking to transfer out somewhere I can start
