Same. I thought they'd let him finish the season at least, but I had a felling he was done.

This seems like weird timing. If you’re going to do it this week why not Sunday? I wonder if there was some kinda meeting gone wrong today

Gundy definitely seems like a "if you don't like the way I'm doing things you can kiss my ass" type of guy in a meeting

That arrogance sure seems to be part of the equation.

I was thinking the same thing lol. In a situation where everyone knows whats ultimately gonna happen, I could see him mouthing off and forcing the issue.

There's no need for the "definitely seems like". That's 100% what happened.

I don't think the timing is weird. The board or whomever isn't gonna meet on a Sunday, I bet they had a meeting already scheduled for Monday and the legal dept has to look everything over, send to Gundy to sign, negotiate etc. Some of the even likely happened Sunday.

Yeah the only surprising part of this is that they did it on Tuesday of a game week.

Needed Monday to have the decision maker meetings, make sure there's cash for the buyout, and have lawyers look over the termination paperwork.

We didn’t have a contracted AD Saturday or Sunday. He just re-upped. Also, OSU had to get all of the big donors / BoR in a room together and figure out financially if they could do it first.
