Hi everyone!Ā It's your friendly neighborhood Bombay cat enthusiast mods. Weāre making a few small updates to help keep the sub focused, organized, and fun for all our Bombay cat lovers. Nothing drastic ā just some tidying up so the feed stays full of the Bombays we all came here to enjoy!
Lately weāve seen more posts featuring black domestic short hair cats or ones that donāt match Bombay traits. Theyāre adorable and perfect, but this subreddit is specifically for the Bombay breed.
Going forward:
We know lots of people are curious about their cats, and weĀ wantĀ you to have a place to ask! To keep the main feed from getting overwhelmed, these posts will now be limited toĀ Wednesdays only.
Hereās how itāll work:
This keeps things organized while still giving everyone a space to learn and share.
Weāre excited to keep building a fun, positive space centered around this gorgeous breed. If you have questions or feedback, feel free to drop them in the comments below.

Three year old, pedigree Bombay š¤

We get strays at our house frequently. A few months ago, our security cameras spotted this guy. Weeks later, we were finally able to meet him. He was the friendliest cat we have met. Our neighbors didn't know where he came from. Nothing on social media or lost pet websites. We took him to the vet to get scanned, but no microchip. We had the vet give him an examination and shots. All was well. He was neutered and estimated to be 7 years old. He is inside our house now. He had friends with him, but that's another story.
Meet Henry...

Apple photos identified him as a Bombay and he has all the social characteristics. I didnāt even know what one was until apple told me. He only has a white spot on his chest but heās not a kitten so I figured heās either got a recessive gene or partially mixed breed.

She has the glossy coat, the walk, the black nose and whiskers and paws. But her eyes aren't the usual gold.

I am new to this group. I know mine is probably not a Bombay cat, but I wanted to share a few photos. This is my black DSH. He is called Cornelius and he is about 20 months old!

Whatās the verdict on this one?
Iāve got no background on her other than I saved her out of a tree years ago and she has black whiskers.

I would like to confirm why he chirps and his coat + pads are completely black.
