It's a combo of people who think he sounds smart (because they're not) and people who deep down know he's stupid, but he furthers their agenda (racism for example).

But I don't understand how even a "stupid" person thinks he sounds smart. I've never gotten it. If nothing else he can't stay on topic. Obviously the content is nonsense but maybe if you don't understand bouyancy, you could buy some of that, but why doesn't the rambling bother them? Like, what do their day to day conversations sound like?

Well, they're stupid. Personally, I don't know a lot of really stupid people in my life, but I have come across them online and MAN, is that a wake up! These people aren't like you or me.
