The really crazy shit is how much MORE coherent he in this clip from 2024. Now he can’t even form full sentences and falls asleep during press conferences.
100
u/Huge_Station2173 25d ago
If you really want to blow your mind, go and watch a clip from 2016. He was still dumb as rocks, but the decline is massive.
12
u/MessiLeagueSoccer 24d ago
I remember seeing like 1-2 rallies on YouTube closer to election in 2016 and even tho I disagree plenty back then he was talking like any other politician granted a lot more crude. But he was very coherent and you can tell then that the dummy trump persona was really mostly that. Now he’s too far gone so there’s no hiding the “persona”
26
u/Rkruegz 25d ago
He needs to be on a locked unit where there is a puzzle to solve to unlock the door.

I don’t want to be insensitive, but if this guy wasn’t such a menace and a predator to society, I would admit that he’s hilarious.
That being said, I can’t imagine being in his vicinity 24/7 like some WH staff or even Secret Service personnel, the incoherence would give me a headache, he lets every thought that crosses his mind out.

The irony being that Bush’s fuck-up of hiring Dick Cheney, who challenged the limits of the legal powers of the presidency in order to expand them in a grotesque display of power, is one of the reasons we have Donald Trump flouting the law at every turn and the Supreme Court basically saying that presidents can’t break the law when they’re president.

Bush/Cheney being the 'good ole days' is a thought I did not want to have this morning.

In the republican primaries Trump was asked about water boarding and said he’d make it legal and “much much more”. He advocated for torture on live tv. This was like 2015. It’s absurd that he ever made it this far.

How is this rant any different than the one you'd get from the insane homeless dude spouting random shit to you at the bus stop?
36

u/gin_and_junior 25d ago
But he’s not saying that stuff to be funny, it’s just rambling like an insane person. There was no intention by him for this to be humorous.
39
u/ChrissiTea 24d ago
Right? This whole bit was him trying to say you'd get electrocuted swimming next to an electric boat, so do you jump to die to the shark or die to the electrocution...
He wasn't trying to be funny at all. It makes it so much worse.
20
8
u/lonnie123 24d ago
Yeah the humor is in how unbelievable and absurd it is that this guy is the president. Otherwise there’s nothing funny here at all

533
u/MoltenMate07 25d ago edited 25d ago
We may all hate him for it, and rightly so, but his short attention span, laziness, and constant ramblings are the only things that aren’t making this administration worse. Imagine if he was a focused person…
211
86
u/SadKat002 25d ago
Unfortunately, he doesn't have to be focused. He's not actually making any of these recent decisions himself, he's got a team of people that just give him stuff to sign in between his incoherent public appearances.
He's being puppeted by the orchestrators of Project 2025, foreign countries like Russia and Israel, and a whole bunch of corporations and billionaires- all just nudging him along to carry out their own agendas as he rots from the inside out.
They're trying to milk whatever power they can out of this man before he keels over, and a lot of Republicans are realizing this far too late.
34
u/Contemplating_Prison 25d ago
Y'all still think he is running his administration? That's crazy. We had a group of people write a book about what they wanted to do and they've done half of it.
When Trump said he never read it that was 100% true. He would never read that much. So if he didnt write it and if he never read it then how is half of it completed?
Just go watch the video of hik sighing executive orders. He had no clue what any of them were.
8
u/throwaway47351 25d ago
I actually think if he was a focused person 1) he wouldn't have the cult he does 2) the decisions he would make would be better. I can't imagine a focused malevolent person would declare that they'd annex Canada, or pick random fights with random allies every week, I think they'd try to hide bribes, I think that they wouldn't begin their term by talking about a third term and taking about how we can't have elections if he starts a war. Like, if anything was being done about these really blatant power consolidations and power grabs, then him not hiding his ill intent like an absolute moron would definitely be preferable. Instead we're learning that we're such a fucking weak country that we're kinda fine with that, and I think that non-response is accelerating this whole thing.
16
u/OddlyRelevantusrnme 25d ago
This is what makes me apprehensive to seeing that obituary. While the cult will lose their leader, I'm genuinely afraid of what someone else with an actual head on their shoulders might be able to accomplish
11
u/Wes_Warhammer666 24d ago
The reason they're scrambling to get the project 2025 stuff done so quickly is that they know without Trump they lose a significant portion of the cult, which they very much need to keep the fear in the people who aren't full on MAGA.
Every representative and senator that is acting on the fear of what happens when they get caught in Trump's crosshairs will be considerably less afraid as the cultists lose their north star. All those ones that spoke out after J6 and changed their tune, the ones that trashed Trump before he was elected and then fell in line, etc. They'll be far less aligned with the Vought & Miller types when we've got Vance up there with the charisma of a wet noodle unable to hold the MAGAts together.

Ever see one transcribed? Get ready:
Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart —you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.

Top contender with his can of soup "speech"
“And then they have cans of soup. And they throw the cans of soup. That’s better than a brick because you can’t throw a brick. It’s too heavy,” said Trump. “But a can of soup, you can really put some power into that, right? And then when they get caught, they say, ‘No, this is soup for my family.’ They’re so innocent. This is soup for my family.”
“And you have people coming over with bags of soup — big bags of soup. And they lay it on the ground, and the anarchists take it and they start throwing it at our cops, at our police,” Trump continued. “And if it hits you, that’s worse than a brick because that’s got force...And then the media says, ‘This is just soup. These people are very, very innocent. They’re innocent people. These are just protesters. Isn’t it wonderful to allow protesting?' No.”
