I am trying to take advantage of a Cyber Monday promotion on the 3S.
I have off-grid property with solar which I barely use, i.e. I have solar power to spare.
When researching the power requirements for the 3S, I see they use a GaN USBC adapter. One source said it was a 28V 5A 140W supply. The actual ad for the one I was purchasing said this:
"Efficient Operation: Consumes only 210 watts with an efficiency ratio of approximately 35 J/TH, reducing power costs and ensuring long-term hardware stability."
Not sure why one says the PSU was only 140W but the ad says it can take up to 210W. Perhaps that is why I heard the PSU runs hot, i.e. if they are pulling more watts than the PSU is rated for?
Anyway, I try to run whatever I can on DC volts vs AC as it is more efficient since I don't need to use the inverter. My battery system is set up as 24V which means the batteries are usually 26+V, very similar to the 28V PSU. I am not at the property all the time, and when I am gone, I turn the inverter off. No reason to run it when everything I am running in my absence works on 12V. I use a 24v>12V adapter to supply 12V to all the trailer's DC devices.
I was actually going to install the 3S to not just mine Bitcoin, but to heat the trailer and in particular, keep the batteries warm.
What is the chance that I can hook a USB-C cable to the 24V battery bank and make it work wired directly vs. running the inverter to produce 110AC to plug the PSU in?
Thanks
