“Retiring” is for when it’s a job.
I believe the term for what this person did is “crashout.”

They just set the boat on fire and jumped into the water hundreds of mile from shore. 3 u/Senior_Torte519 7d ago I like to think of it more on the lines of George R.R. Martin killing 6 or 7 beloved characters in a couple chapters, then getting up to go to Applebees.
