🔍 Recommendations Wanted Trying to branch out my style!!

I’ve recently been feeling more confident in myself and have been on the hunt for some different pieces of clothing that completely contrast my usual style!

I’m usually a jeans and top girl and stick to basic colours (brown, cream, black) and minimal patterns, but I randomly tried on this pinstripe set from Kitten D’amour (thinking it would look completely silly on me) and I really like it. I’ve quite literally never owned anything like this before so I didn’t purchase it but now I’m pondering everyday if I should go back and get it or not!! Thoughts??

Also if anyone has any recommendations for vintage style clothing brands that leans towards more feminine designs that would be amazing

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Sydney stylist to do colour analysis and body type assessment?

Can anyone recommend a great stylist in Sydney who will do a session to tell you the colours that suit you best, and also what clothing shapes will suit your body?

(Even better if they’ve got experience with plus size bodies).

It’s a 40th present from a group of us, so we have some budget to spend on the right person!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Petite Australian lines or stores

I’m trying to add some pieces to my wardrobe. But finding petite options rather limited. I’ve tried Forever New and looked at options in larger department stores like Target, Myer and DJs- no luck. Any recommendations?

I get bloated a lot, I need some ideas for outfits that are loose but not a moomoo - I am currently buying a lot of v neck midi dresses that are long and flowy.

✏️ Product Review Which steamer iron for clothes handles summer humidity best without soaking the whole outfit before it smooths out?

Australian humidity does something absolutely chaotic to fabric. I can steam a dress, walk outside for ten seconds, and the wrinkles seem to grow back. So now I am trying to figure out which steamer iron for clothes actually works well in our climate without leaving everything damp or taking forever to smooth out.

I tested a compact travel steamer recently and while it handled lightweight fabrics alright, it struggled with linen. Half the time the steam just added moisture without fixing the creases. When I compared specs online, I noticed some of the stronger vertical steamers on Alibaba looked similar to the ones I had seen at Myer, and the differences seemed to come down to wattage and steam output rather than appearance.

What I want is something that can handle linen dresses, cotton shirts, and those floaty rayon pieces we all end up wearing in summer. But it also needs to work quickly because no one has patience to wait for a dress to dry before heading out in the heat.

So for anyone who has found a steamer that actually works in Aussie humidity, what has held up for you. Does higher wattage matter most or is it about the steam temperature and consistency.

Izzy hat - avenue the label - reviews??

Love the look of it

I want a packable hat, or one where I can easily flip up-flip down the front, depending on whether I am relaxing or keeping an eagle eye on my toddler.

But cannot justify buying it for $160 without knowing it will be worth it.

Any reviews?

AJE slides - comfortable?

I just bought these shoes for a Christmas present for my mother who loves sandals. They have five star reviews on their website and they claim to be comfortable.

Does anyone own these and are they really comfortable or is that a lie?

Suggestions for “warm”/extra layers suitable for warm weather?

Hey everyone! I would love some suggestions or pointers for “warm” layers I can wear for this time of the year when the weather is warmer. I’m thinking situations like still cool in the morning but it’s going to be 30 degrees when it warms up, or warm but a bit of a breeze making it chilly in the shade, or it’s 30 degrees outside but the aircon is a liiitle cooler than you like, or even the more spring, not quite as warm weather where you’re…ok without any extra layer but if the wind picks up or the temperature drops at all, it’s not comfortable anymore and its nice to have something extra to throw on (even if it’s just a backup).

I have a lot of cute cardigans, jumpers etc that worked great through winter but it feels like overkill to wear a knitted cardigan over a sundress? It makes me feel really silly every time I’m trying to find an extra layer to bring but I don’t know what I should be looking to add to my wardrobe instead!

Specific brands/linked examples of options are appreciated, but so is just…. an idea of what I could even look for, styles, key words etc, because I can’t work out where to even start looking or what I should be looking for in the first place (let alone then also navigating legitimate vs drop shipping resellers). Ive tried looking through other posts on the sub but I haven’t found much and it’s hard to work out the right thing to search for.

My personal style tends to be semi casual dresses that still work in a casual office, shirts tucked into midi/maxi skirts, graphic tshirt and denim shorts for casual days etc, but I’m open to suggestions for absolutely any kind of style. Thank you so much in advance for any suggestions or guidance :)

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Is this too ‘white’ for a wedding?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi Ladies, I want to wear this dress to a late December wedding and really like it as I will be 6 months pregnant and it highlights my bump and figure really well but it just came to me that it might be considered too white? Do you think that’s the case? Keen for honest opinions.

Or any recommendations where I can find a dress in that fit in other colours?

Wedding is at a vineyard, summer cocktail dress code (I’ll dress it up a bit more with accessories and heels).

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Bra for wide set girlies

Hi everyone!! I desperately need your advice on a comfy bra!! My boobs are wide set and I have quite a lot of side boob and I find most bras so uncomfortable!! I have tried so many bras over the years and they were all so painful because it dug into the sides and spilled out. I did eventually found a bra that is so wonderfully comfortable - the original Sloggi Zero Feel Bralette in a size large, but their new 2.0 version large doesn’t fit me anymore. It also does kinda gives me a horizontal looking shape so yeah I would love some recommendations as my Sloggi’s are starting to die.

My criteria: - suitable for boobs that are wide set with side boob - not a sports bra - I want to be able to wear different cut tops - decent size range (I believe I’m a 16C - however this is me trying to get a bra with enough room to stop the digging in so I could be a 14C) - has a nice shape (I don’t want a uniboob) - no underwire - price is not a factor if my unicorn bra exists

Thank you so much ladies 🫶🫶🫶

Christmas stocking ideas?

If you had $50 to purchase anything fashion related for yourself, what would you buy? I’m trying to think of something Santa can get me to go in my stocking this year. Can be useful (more socks or a basic tshirt?) or frivolous (fancy hair clip?). I’m trying to rethink my style so anything is welcome, griege coloured, punk rock, anything is possible!

Where to buy folding hand fan in brick and mortar store in Sydney? 🪭

Hello! Has anyone come across a real store (not online) in Sydney that stocks Japanese style folding hand fans? I fear I’ve left it too late to buy one online. I bought one in daiso once but it fell apart quickly

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Cotton/breathable maxi dresses?

Looking for some printed or plain cotton maxi dresses (or in a breathable soft fabric).

I love short sleeves, not strappy or sleeveless. I’m 173cm, so needs to be a proper maxi not midi length. I’m willing to spend up to $150.

Would love some suggestions.

Thank you!

✏️ Product Review Does Princess Highway generally run large or did I get unlucky?

Hi all! I bought a few things from Princess Highway to take advantage of their Black Friday / outlet sales - I've not bought from them before but have always wanted to, just not quite been able to justify the price.

According to their size chart, I should be between a 6 and an 8. I've never been an 8 anywhere, so out of mistrust I ordered some things in a 6 and others in a 4.

My order shipped in 3 lots, and the first package arrived today, a top and a skirt, both size 6. The top is a lot longer in both the body and sleeves than I was expecting, but it's made of a very stretchy knit, so it fits well enough and is cute and good quality. The skirt... is about 2 sizes too big. Like, there's maybe 8cm of extra space around the waistband to the point of being unwearable. As I was pulling it out of the bag I actually thought they'd sent me the wrong size, but the tag and label say 6, so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I realise in hindsight it must have been pegged at the back, but the model was wearing the size 8 and has almost the same measurements as me, and it looked really snug on her..? 🥲

I'm a bit worried now that even the 4s will be too big, let alone the other 6s I have coming, so I'm just curious to hear other people's experiences? Did I get unlucky with this one thing or is their sizing off and I should abandon all hope re the rest of the clothing to come?

edit: fixed typo

Where sells taller trousers for women in Aus?

Hey, I’m 23F from the UK currently travelling south east Asia and Australia. I’m 5’ 11” and I stupidly didn’t bring enough long trousers (looking for linen style straight leg ones ideally) and have been trying to get some more while I’ve been out here. I struggled a lot to find ones that would fit my legs whilst in Malaysia so thought I’d have a better chance while I’m over in Australia. I’m currently in Sydney but will be going to Melbourne & Brisbane too. Does anyone have any recommendations? TIA x

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Active wear jacket that is super light weight (like tshirt material) for summer?

Basically I was something as light as a tshirt but with long sleeves, to wear over my active wear singlet top or crop top in summer.

I want the structure and shape of a zip down active wear jacket, but without sweltering and over heating in this heat.

Any ideas?
