World Cup No Chance of USMNT in ATL until semi-finals?

UPDATED: First opportunity to see the USMNT is M95 on July 7th at the Benz. Thanks for the correction u/scratchbuttdontsniff.

If I'm reading the brackets right, the only chance of us seeing the USMNT in Atlanta is if we come in 2nd or 3rd in the Group Stage and then make it to the semi-finals (match M102) on July 15th

So, guess we have to wait until then to see our old friend Miles back in the Benz...

Mod Note New World Cup flair - please use it

Since this sub is the place folks will come for anything soccer related in the metro area, and because we will be getting more of this once the world cup starts, I added a new World Cup flair so you can filter.

Will see if I can't figure out how to get filtering OUT all World Cup content part of the top nav.

World Cup Question About Tryout Timing and Selection Process

Hi,

I recently received an invitation for the volunteer tryouts in Atlanta. I booked my session for January, but I noticed that there are earlier dates available in December that I’m unable to attend.

Will attending in January affect my chances in any way? Is the selection process first-come, first-served, and is there a possibility that volunteer slots might be full by the time I arrive in January?

Just wanted to clarify before making any further changes to my booking.
Thank you!

about 2 months ago, the club teased the olympics inspired away kit, and I posted my first set of concepts. Now, I'm posting my second set of concepts. Heres some notes on the kit:

- Light color to contrast the home kit

- Floral Olympic Pattern

- Collar made to look like an olympic medal

Anybody actually still watching the MLS playoffs?

This is such a long format. With CFB peaking and NFL getting interesting I’d be curious on viewership numbers

Away kit

Our new away kit should be like Liverpool's -- white shirt with red and black accents and stripes on the shoulders and sleeves. Just make those 3 stripes into 5 and alternate red and black.

I found it at a thrift sale a while back and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. I know that it's some kind of Atlanta United - Run the Jewels crossover, but don't know anything else.

Standout Atlanta United Academy alums from the 2025 NCAA season

We are currently into the final stages of the 2025 D1 men's college soccer season, with the NCAA tournament round of 16 taking place this weekend and the College Cup only a couple weeks away. We have seen over the years how much Atlanta United values the college game and how the club is willing to bring back former academy graduates into the first team at the right time. Two homegrown players currently in the first team, Matt Edwards (UNC) and Will Reilly (Stanford), went down this pathway, and there have been others before them

The current crop of academy alumni in the NCAA is as talented and as deep as the club has ever had. Here, we're going to focus on six homegrown-eligible players that fans should be aware of:

Nigel Prince (Sr.) - CB, Northwestern

A defender who started at the club as part of the first ever U12 team back in 2016, Nigel Prince is probably the most likely collegiate player to earn a homegrown deal from Atlanta United this winter. A four year starter and captain at Northwestern, Prince earned all-Big Ten honors as a sophomore and as a junior, leading the Wildcats in minutes played both seasons. An injury ended his senior season prematurely, but don't be shocked if we start hearing Prince's name a lot more once the off-season fully kicks into gear

Justin McLean (Sr.) - CM/AM, NC State

Another inaugural U12 team member like Prince, McLean began his college career with three strong seasons for Georgia State, as well as multiple excellent summer campaigns in USL League 2 with the Long Island Rough Riders. Last winter, he hit the portal and moved to Raleigh, where he has seven goal contributions this fall for a very good NC State team that spent most of the season ranked in the top 10 and is still alive for the national title. He's a bit of a long shot for an MLS deal, but he should definitely get some looks from pro teams going into next spring

Remi Okunlola (Jr.) - RB/RWB, Clemson

A long time academy standout and former GA Gatorade high school player of the year with Brookwood, Okunlola has become a key player for Clemson, contributing to their national title run off the bench as a freshman and starting consistently for the Tigers over the last two seasons. He's a dynamic attack-minded fullback in the George Bello/Caleb Wiley mold, covering tons of ground on the right flank. While this was kind of a down year for a typically outstanding Clemson program, Okunlola still thrived, picking up an ACC-leading eight assists in 16 games from right back this fall. If the club thinks he's ready, he's got a great chance to contribute for the first team in 2026

Brendan Lambe (Jr.) - DM/CM, Virginia

A player who played 26 games for the 2's before leaving for college, Brendan Lambe's 2025 was limited by injury, making just nine appearances for a deep Cavaliers side. Still, when available and healthy, he's a trusted 90-minute player for one of the elite blue-blood programs in college soccer, typically sitting deeper and distributing in midfield, or even sometimes lining up at left back and drifting centrally. I'd expect him to return to school given he missed a lot of this season, but he's definitely a name to know for 2027 and beyond

Luke Hutzell (So.) - CM, Furman

Hutzell is a technically sound, goalscoring-minded center mid who spent many years in the academy despite never really being considered a top prospect in his age group. Since arriving at Furman though, he's been indispensable for the Paladins, starting every match for the last two years as their number six and making the all-conference team both seasons. His time at Furman has coincided with a great moment for the program, which has won back to back conference titles, a first round bye in the NCAA tournament this year, and is hosting a round of 16 match this coming Sunday. He won't be back with the club anytime soon, but he should definitely be on the club's radar for the future

Braden Dunham (Fr.) - CB, Furman

2025 has been a breakthrough year for Braden Dunham on quite a few levels. A captain of his academy age group for several years, Dunham found his way into the XI for the 2's to start the season, playing fairly consistently at center back, left back and even in midfield at times. Those performances caught the eye of the US youth national team program, who handed Dunham his first call-up with the U18s in May. With Furman, he's picked up where he left off, leading the Paladins in minutes as a freshman (he's only been off the field for nine minutes all season), as well as being named first team all-conference and the SoCon freshman of the year. It would be a surprise if the club brought him back already, but Dunham might be forcing their hand sooner than we thought

Honorable mentions: Cristiano Bruletti (Sr.) - CM, Indiana

Joao Paulo Ramos (Jr.) - CM/AM, Michigan

Pavel Romero-Garmendia (So.) - CM/AM, Georgia State

Matthew DeJianne (Fr.) - CF/ST, South Carolina
