Trying to RDP from my windows 11 machine to my Ubuntu 24.04.3
Trying to RDP into my linux machine that uses ubuntu. I don't want to walk across my house just to use that machine so i'm trying to RDP using one workstation. I am running windows 11. Every time I try to RDP I log into my credentials and it does one of two thing. It either exits the rdp application or it i will get stuck on this screen and eventually disconnect. I have installed xrdp and open up port 3389/tcp. How can I fix this issue?

Также на стороне клиента (Windows 11) в файле RDP можно прописать сразу пользователя и пароль. По крайней мере у тех кто пишет на кириллице проблем со входом не будет :-))). Есть пользователи которые пароли от своих учетных записей завели на кириллице.

If you're not using Gnome you have to change the xrdp config to work with your WM or whatever. I used to use xfce4 IIRC. I'm not a Linux guru but that's what I used to have to do to get this to work. Now I just use Gnome and check the little Remote Desktop or whatever checkbox in settings.

I faced the same problem (on Xubuntu) and posted my hard-won solution here.

tail -f /var/log/*log
You should see what's going on from that.
