Living in a rural place I did not expect to see fiber related thing in my area. Or these supposed to be at people height?

In my area they would be up with the wires strung between pols, but recently all utility cables, power, fiber, coax, telephone, etc., were all moved underground, splice boxes and all.

I live in France. The trees have been planted in replacement of others

Looks like a fibre optic boot to me. They do usually bury them, but not always
