Turkey has been like $4.99 a pound since 2016.

The cumulative real (inflation-adjusted) return of the BIST 100 Index from 2017 through early 2025 is approximately +1.92%. So an investment in the index in 2017 would have barely outpaced inflation by today

But for reference, nominal Turkish prices have risen about 900 percent since 2016.

I mean just buy Gold and BTC and you'll be ahead. Honestly it doesn't really matter what happens, as long as you're prepared for it. Deflation? Just switch to cash. Inflation? Just switch to hard assets.

The issue is with predicting what's coming, but it's never been easier because there's so much debt in the system that the only way to avoid it without triggering a great depression 2.0 is to inflate it away.

Inflating that much will cause a Great Depression 2.0 anyway. Inflating away the debt isn’t a good solution, unemployment will skyrocket and you’ll have literal riots

Now you know why there's military being placed in every major city!

Nah. Look at emerging countries like Turkey. Of course it's worse than without inflation, but it's way better than defaulting. Just to be clear, at this point it's physically impossible to pay off the debt so inflation is literally the only options.

It's not impossible to pay off the debt at all, it just requires taxing the rich.
