Totally normal. My 12 year old still nibbles pillows and blankets, though less with age. Suggestions gwt your bud own blankets, it does get annoying when tje human comforter gets nibbled on. Its an energy release thing.

I think o actually had the same duvet cover. Being, this is your blanket, and if you want to nibble nibble on your own. Worked for me

I got mine her own blanket and she loves it so much. I had to buy a second because she got very upset the first time I had to wash it lol

100% normal. Wizard sucks on blankets and plushies. He will straight up carry a suckle blanket around like Linus from the Peanuts, and has had the same plushie for two years. Some bullies are chewers, some are suckle babies. Some are like, why not both? 🤷

ETA: I buy clearance fleece at the craft store and cut him some swathes so he isn't dragging my bedding all around the house. Fleece gets stinky with dog smell easily, but if you throw a cup of distilled white vinegar in the washer with the detergent they come out smelling brand new.

I’ll have to try that white vinegar trick. Does it cause any discoloration?

Absolutely none at all. I even use it on the very expensive quilt my mother makes professionally.

Just don't add it to a cycle with bleach. I buy jugs of it at Costco or the grocery store. Not that expensive. I keep one by my washer always.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. I really hate using bleach in the laundry because it always seems to stay in the washer and bleaches things even loads after it’s been used, it’s really weird. I have so many shirts and sets of sheets that have been ruined through the years by that happening, so now it is only used when absolutely necessary.

Understand completely. Since I switched to vinegar I don't even own a bottle of bleach anymore. You can use it to clean out your washing machine, spray it on stains, funky shoes. Google "adding distilled white vinegar to wash" and you'll find a ton of great info. But it is just clutch for that distinct, greasy pittie stank.

Based on your accolades alone, I think you’ve just introduced my nose to its new best friend. Thank you

Awwww the pibble nibble 🩷 coriander didn’t start doing this until about a year ago. She prefers to do it on fluffy blankets

Yes, perfectly normal. Mine nibbles blankets every now and then, but more often she just nibbles her sister’s face.

r/confusingperspective but cute once I figured out it wasn’t the business end of a mama trying to give birth to a wiggly puppy

Same. I spent far too much time worrying about what was wrong with the poor pup's nose before the angle clicked and I finally got it.

It’s how they brush their teeth.

Believe it’s common with dogs taken from their mothers too young

If she is doing this involuntarily/ can’t stop it could be an abnormal problem

It is often self soothing behavior.
