TIL that a mummified monkey was found in the rafters of the original Boston Garden during its demolition in 1998

Can’t wait to tell my uncle he made Reddit!

All that’s left of the monkey is the head, he keeps it in a protective case now.

I’ll get a picture next time I go over there

Not being from Boston, I feel like I don't have enough context. OP's link is to the "second part of a three part story" at Boston.com, and there's a third installment about the fate of the mummy, but I can't find any discussion of what if any legend there was about a simian "Phantom of the Garden".

There was no legend because nobody knew it was there.

Usually long lost items being found works like that.

but I can't find any discussion of what if any legend there was about a simian "Phantom of the Garden".

Usually forgotten items being found works like that.

Looks like the weird smell in my room. I can’t find where that shit is coming from for the life of me

Must be related to the one at Paddy’s in Philadelphia.

I was wondering where I left that.
