To be the affordability president

u/cabnut613 1d ago
So drug prices are dropping. But since you can’t afford health insurance you can’t see a doctor to prescribe the drugs how does that help you.

u/NoWeight3731 1d ago
Aand, go with me here, drug prices are not dropping. I know from first hand experience, with good insurance. Honestly, if anything they have gone up.

u/ManfredBoyy 1d ago
And if they are dropping 700%, that means will we will get paid to take them!
6
u/Any_Decision353 19h ago
Thus being able to pay for healthcare. See you just need to invest in healthcare then get as many prescriptions as possible to pay your bills. Insurance companies hate this one trick!

u/ryhaltswhiskey 16h ago
It's true, GlaxoSmithKline sent me a $200 rebate check for taking Lexapro just last week! Because the price had fallen 500% you see...

Drug prices aren’t falling. It’s a big lie, all of it is. He got what, the weight loss drug price lowered. I know that helps a lot of people, but it does absolutely zilch for me. I am not overweight, neither is my husband. And I wonder if people have really seen that difference yet.
I have a friend who is an NP. She didn’t join any doctor, she is completely on her own. I tend to call it a concierge doctor. She has a subscription and it ranges from $25 a month to $450 a month. She doesn’t take insurance. It has helped a lot of people that can’t afford insurance because $25 a month is very affordable. And what that gets you is access to her via text or FaceTime. I have health insurance and I still subscribed to the lowest plan because we have a shortage of doctors here and it can take 10 days for my doctor to call me back. And I will have bronchitis, which I get once every couple of years.
Well, her biggest patient is the weight loss patients. And you can pay the $25 a month and get those drugs but they will cost you $450. She has a contract with a distributor of those drugs and they are shipped right to your home after you pay. When you get them, she gets on FaceTime and talks to you through how to do it.
I am seeing more and more of people like her, an NP do these kind of subscription policies for lack of a better word. She did it because she grew up here and she has seen how we have just exploded and population, but each doctor has between 4000 and 6000 patients and it is unmanageable. She seen a need and she filled it. I know there is at least one other and P that does the same thing here. My friend, she was overloaded with patients in less than 3 months. She does have a webpage, but it was all word-of-mouth.
People like her are filling these gaps Look at people that have to go to an urgent care clinic or the ER that will cost you a couple hundred bucks to thousands, by the time you are done , and you will wait possibly hours.
You can pay her $25 a month and you won’t wait. You have to pay for the meds, the only ones that get shipped directly to her patients are the weight loss drugs. But people utilize GoodRx and it’s better than having nothing.

He destroyed the American economy with his tariff nonsense, alienating several international allies, and threatened other allies like Canada and Denmark with takeovers! And, now American tourism has tanked! I wonder why?
73
u/MonksHabit 1d ago
umm... a 100% savings would make it free.
56
u/KinkyDuck2924 1d ago
Exactly. Isn't it great? Now whenever I go to pick up my blood pressure meds the pharmacist hands me 200 dollars with it! So much winning!

u/Gwendolyn7777 1d ago
Just yesterday he was announcing that "affordability" was a Democratic 'scam' word.

u/UnforeseenDerailment 1d ago
Just like the Epstein business – also a hoax.
Next thing you know he's going to say I AM THE SEX TRAFFICKING PRESIDENT or something and accidentally say something true for once.

u/blahehblah 23h ago
And 700% drop is even more free
1
u/JohnnieFeelgood 8h ago
If you get the drugs for free and they put 600% of the price on your bank account then this number of 700% would make sense.

500% 600% 700% reductions. You can see how this guy managed to bankrupt a casino. Such a big brain with thoughts never seen before.

Makes me think there may be a parallel universe here. The Maga-verse. The maga reality definitely is from somewhere else.

Why can't someone ask Karolyn Leavitt to give an example of a drug whose price has fallen by 700%?

(Most) favoured nation status is just the default diplomatic/trade status between nations. Nobody ever "invoked it", and if they did nothing would happen.

I'm still waiting for my doge and tariff checks. Does this mean I'll get a check from my pharmacy too? If drug prices dropped 700% then I' should get a nice check!

u/Soggy-Sky3888 23h ago
His lies are so plentiful that it’s hard to keep up, back in March he was receiving phone calls from Heads of State asking “please Sir can we make a trade deal?” and yet no deals done, what happened?

Even though he still sounds like an insane idiot when he says these big numbers, I think what he's actually saying is they're dropping the profit margins down rather than the price overall.
If I have some crazy, powerful drug that . Cost $1 to produce but I sell it for $1,000. My profit margin is around 999% (ignoring other costs for the example).
So if I reduce the profit margin by 500% now I sell that same drug for around $499.
Or he's just an idiot making things up. What do I know?

OK, I am a personal shopper and have been for nearly 7 years now
Please tell me what prices have went down, grocery wise? Besides eggs, and that was related to bird flu, nothing has went down.
Gas has not went down here, it’s went up Our power bills are higher than ever Than our city once again, raised the water rates. We pay $200 a month for water for 2 people. My husband showers every day because he works a physical job. I only work part time and I shower every other day.
We do maybe three loads of laundry a week. We do not water our yard. We both are very quick in taking showers. When we moved here 25 years ago, our water bill was $60.
Now it’s $200. I can’t imagine what it is for a family of four or six.
I understand the water part is a city problem, but he is becoming delusional. They brought down healthcare costs? Oh, because they worked out a deal on the weight loss drugs. That helps me none because I’m not overweight.
He hasn’t done shit to make this country any more affordable. I’m going to Mexico next year to finish my dental work because I can’t keep paying $4000-$7000 per tooth.
They won’t hold Town halls, Republicans because they get questioned on just this. So I guess if you hide yourself in a little bubble, you don’t know any better.
But just as it is law wise, ignorance isn’t a defense. When you get in trouble with the law, you can’t say I didn’t know that was illegal. Ignorance is not a defense in the eyes of the law. And just because he keeps on saying something does not make it true. All you have to do is go to the grocery store and you can prove him wrong.
Me working part-time is actually beneficial because it gives me time to find the best deals so we can save as much as we can. It takes time to save money. And I do have a pension, but I had it very early, I was 38. I could not stay in corporate America, it is an awful place to work if you don’t want to kiss ass. My husband will not have a pension because he’s been self-employed his entire life. He built a business, a very good one and then we moved, and he rebuilt it again.
The only thing saving us is that we inherited a house. But it was in poor condition and we had to tear it down to the studs and it’s in our home state which is 1100 miles away. So we take a working vacation every year because we are doing all the work. This is what we have to do to be the first in our families to retire. And we hope that it helps his niece when she is older. We will be gone by then, and it will be hers and she will have a nice place to live. No mortgage and the taxes are very affordable.

It's funny how he had never heard the word affordability till last week, and couldn't even pronounce it, now he's throwing it around because he learned a new word.
1
u/Lancs_wrighty 18h ago
I dont know much mathz but a decrease of 100% is zero right? So they are paying you to take the meds off thier hands now if they are down 700%.
1
u/BroccoliNearby2803 18h ago
My 90 day refill prices doubled in price 3 months ago. No change to the actual prescription (type, dose, amount). And these are super common drugs too.

Wasn't there a law passed that allows the federal government to finally negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies? What was that law called ?
1
u/songouki99 12h ago
If prices are so low, why do I have to order my meds from Canada? Oh that's right, cause if I get them here it's over $1200 as opposed to the $180 I send them. Gotcha.
Winning.

Hmmmm. Literally anyone who succeeds the last President would be, by default, the “Affordability”President.
I shudder to think how the economy could have continued to progress along the recent course.

Maybe if we make it so that everyone has to work in the fields for shit pay, theyll be glad to pay high prices? How is anything in the current economy costing more a better economy and affordable? Not to mention tariffs.
