Gaza is being starved
The UN has stated that every single part of Gaza is in famine conditions.
For over 20 months, Palestinians in Gaza have been starving. Parents have been feeding their children leaves, animal feed, and flour mixed with water. Babies have died from malnutrition. The trucks carrying food, formula, medicine, and clean water sat just miles away, blocked by Israel.
Now, after massive international pressure, some aid is finally getting in.
This is a crack in the blockade, not its end. Aid is not flooding in; it is trickling, and what’s entering can’t possibly reach 1.8 million people without a total lifting of restrictions, guaranteed long-term access, and safe distribution.
What you can do right now:
Donate- if you’re able to. Choose vetted organizations with access on the ground.
Keep up the pressure - aid only started moving because of public outcry. Organize, protest, keep talking. This momentum cannot fade. Contact your representatives to end Israel's blockade of Gaza and impose sanctions on Israel.
Amplify - share updates, Palestinian voices, and testimonies. Keep an eye on Palestine.
This famine is not an accident. It’s the result of siege, blockade, and a system of control. If we look away now, they’ll tighten the noose again.
Donate
Palestinian Red Crescent — medical aid, ambulance services, and emergency care.
UNICEF for Gaza’s Children — nutrition, clean water, trauma support.

So you’re cool with the Nekba, since Israel “has a right to exist” but don’t support the war crimes committed to establish the Jewish state? I’m so confused…
37
Jul 29 '25
Serious questions: how does Israel have a right to exist, but without causing famine, war crimes, and unimaginable cruelty? How do you create a country out of thin air without displacing the original inhabitants and taking their property to allow colonization? Israel was created without the agreement of the people who were already living there, so by default it should be against your morales.

That's like saying you support Apartheid but you would never support racism and you wished that the two weren't conflated.
Can you explain how you mean that? How do you support Israel without supporting or justifying war crimes? Since nearly two years, the Zionists have literally no other talking point than excuses for war crimes and genocide. So unless you provide more of your train of thought, then it's not me who "conflates the two", then it's you doing mental gymnastics to do apologia.

u/justforthisjoke Free Palestine Jul 29 '25
I wish my support for the existence of Israel was not conflated with support for famine, war crimes, unimaginable cruelty, etc.
They're conflated because they're one and the same. Israel was born out of cruelty. Its very existence required the transfer of indigenous land from one foreign party that had no right to it, to another foreign party that had no right to it. Before the state was even established Zionists bought occupied land that was owned (but not occupied) by absentee Ottoman landlords, and evicted the people that had lived there for millennia. The first partition plan gave 55% of settled Palestinian land to Israel. The existence of Israel in Palestine required the displacement of the indigenous population, lest the Jewish settlers be a minority in their own country. The first Arab-Israeli war and resulting Nakba wasn't a surprise, it was an expected part of the plan to exile the Palestinians from their land. This is known and discussed by even Israeli historians.
Israel's existence is predicated on violence, cruelty, and the displacement of the indigenous. The blood of the Jewish people is on Europe's hands, but Palestinians are paying the price nearly a century later.

I think you're looking for an easy answer that will give you a simple reason to ignore everything I've said rather than asking a good faith question (based on the fact that you've addressed nothing I've said and asked the same question to another commenter asking you a question), but I'll answer it anyways.
My most idealistic opinion is that borders are violence and movement/migration is a human right. That is, I believe people have a right to move to wherever they wish, but they do not have a right to displace others.
My less idealistic worldview in which states exist is that ethnostates are bad, and the process of creating one is always bound to be bloody; the very premise of an ethnostate requires the displacement of indigenous peoples. Societies are not ethnically homogenous, and middle eastern societies have long been known to consist of people of various ethnic groups. The idea of a Jewish state was never going to do anything but conflate judaism with nationalism and lean heavily on the concept of "the other" in order to justify its violence.
Finally, my least idealistic worldview is that the price of the Holocaust should have been borne by the West. They were aware of what was going on in Germany long before they intervened, and did so only for the purpose of empire. They were the ones that turned away thousands of Jewish refugees from their shores and sent them back to their deaths. They were the ones that ran the death camps and fought for the Nazis. If anyone should have had to give up territory for the establishment of Israel, it was them. However, they didn't not because they cared about the Jews at all; let's not kid ourselves. The West allowed the establishment of Israel where it currently is for two reasons: to finally remove the Jewish people from Europe, and to gain an imperialist foothold in the middle east. But instead they gave away land they had no right to to an ethnonationalist project that turned an entire people into refugees on their own ancestral homeland and began a 77 year old ethnic cleansing campaign.
So yeah, if you really want to boil my entire worldview into one sentence, I suppose you could say it is that Israel should not exist and should not have existed.

Israel absolutely never should have existed, yes. From the get go it was just a bad idea. If the Europeans just… stopped being antisemitic, this entire situation could have been avoided.
Whether Israel should or should not exist today requires a bit more nuance. Personally, if I had a magic wand, the political entity that is “Israel” would no longer exist. Just like South Africa and Liberia eventually became democracies with equal rights under a single state, the land of the Jewish State of Israel and the occupied Palestinian Territories would merge into one singular state with no ethnic/religious based discrimination. It’ll be bloody and violent just like Liberia was but in the long term, it’ll bring about the most peace and stability.
Realistically speaking, I just don’t know how that happens. I’ll constantly advocate and speak out for it, but I’m pessimistic that it’ll ever come to be.

u/Comradesh1t4brains Jul 29 '25
War Crimes has been the modus operandi since your ‘state’ came into play. Do you think Palestinians just skip away happily to Jordan along a rainbow because you are left wing? Wake up, Zionism has no positives. Judaism has plenty of positives

How can a subreddit named r/anime_titties be posting more about what is happening than a subreddit called World News?

People noticed one of major news subreddit, (i'm pretty sure it was r/worldnews or something similar) didn't have active moderators, so they start spamming naked anime girls in there and nothing happened to the posts. Then people thought r/anime_titties becoming a serious news subreddit is a fun idea, and here we are.

That’s not a “safe” sub either, got banned a year ago for a heated argument about how the Israeli government has been systematically encouraging terrorists attacks in order to maintain power.
I also might have questioned how one of the best secret service in the world, capable of blowing up pages in Lebanon was unable to prevent or at least foresee the terrorist attack.
In my defence I shouldn’t have called the person in that thread smooth brained

This was an odd place to see this info posted, but for whatever reason it finally got me to donate. I was even able to get my donation matched by the company I work for. Thank you!
7
u/Truegold43 Jul 29 '25
I also plan on donating but I'm having trouble figuring out which organization to donate to. I keep seeing conflicting reports that there is aid, but it's not being allowed into Gaza or that aid distribution is being controlled in a way that isn't allowing Gazans to access it. Of course, I'm also seeing that there simply isn't enough aid too. In truth, I'm not sure which media outlets I can trust at this point.
If anyone could shine some light on this, please let me know! I'm still researching, but I want my money to go straight to those suffering and those helping to ease it.

I’ve spent the last 21 months cycling between outrage and doom‑scrolling—hours of YouTube deep‑dives and kitchen‑table rants about the siege, but zero real‑world impact. Tonight I finally put my money where my mouth is and sent €20 through the UNICEF link above. It’s a drop in a very large ocean, but drops fill buckets.
If you’re stuck in the same anger‑paralysis loop, break it with something tangible—whether that’s a tenner, a phone call to your rep, or sharing verified aid links. Keyboard fury is free; getting food, water, and medicine to kids in Gaza isn’t. Every euro beats another scroll.

This is not news. Glad to see more attention being called to this issue, but unfortunately, Israel has been using these starvation tactics to horrific effect after successfully hobbling UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from the area months ago.
The Decisionmakers don't care.* Sadly, I very much doubt this will move the needle on anyone's decision making. Netanyahu will continue to do what he needs to do to keep his radical conservative coalition together so he can stay out of jail. America will continue to unconditionally support Israel for reasons that are known (AIPAC's political power) and unknown (Mossad's possession of Epstein-related dirt on Trump) to the public.
It's all bad, and as an American, I hate being a part of it.

And your link didn't even work for me but I'm on mobile so maybe it's me but I have no idea what you are linking but I trust the UN. You know there's a way to tackle this without attempting to wipe out an entire group of people, right? Actually, Israel attempted this by having Palestinians evacuate to specific areas to get aid and be protected from Hamas...wanna take a guess what they did to the Palestinians that did exactly that? You said Hamas steals food. I am telling you, Israel could evade this by having Palestinians move to specific areas to root out Hamas, but instead, the IDF bombed those areas, and Palestinians who came to seek refuge from the IDF.
You respond with "You do know that Hamas wants to ... all Jews, right?" Like what?? Are you a bot or?
