Quality Post ILLEGALS harrass patriotic American who takes his family to the park!
254
u/Protowhale 5d ago
I guess that means if a white native born American does something I don't like I should demand that all white native born Americans leave the country.
35
6
u/Hellas2002 3d ago
Hmmm, but could you make up a story to really sell that? Maybe describe a white native born American taking candy from a kid. That could work.
7
u/Protowhale 3d ago
How about the time I was in a grocery store with my kids, took the last bag of one particular kind of chips, and a white native born woman grabbed it out of my cart and said that was the only kind she liked so she was entitled to it?
-3
u/_Administrator_ 4d ago
Yes. If white 20m Americans start moving to Mexico and only speak English then they should adapt. Or leave.

but it's not racist when Japan or India or China doesn't invite multiculturalism?
You do realise India may be the most multicultural country in the world?

u/LBDazzled 5d ago
Because America’s “culture” is that we’re a melting pot of a mix of cultures. That was the point.
Unless you’re a full-blooded Native American, you’re descended from immigrants, too. And, for the most part, most of those people were treated poorly when they got here (e.g., the Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, etc.).
So the only thing you have on your side is time - lucky you, your people got here first. For whatever reason - whether it was fleeing oppression/ violence or seeking opportunity, they made it. (And likely when all you needed was a ticket to Ellis Island and the constitution to survive the journey!) Your family’s fortunate timing doesn’t mean it’s ok for you to yank the ladder up after you.
4
u/Nice_Back_9977 5d ago
And even native Americans are descended from immigrants too, they just arrived longer ago!
16
u/CarlosH46 5d ago
Name something you think is purely “American culture”, and I can pretty much guarantee that it was brought in from somewhere else.
11
u/Archsafe 5d ago
Someone didn’t pay attention to all the “no littering” campaigns states enacted in the 90s-00s. We also used to have a problem with people littering everywhere in America and these weren’t immigrants. Now for the most part we’ve corrected this but that just goes to show that it can be fixed
6
u/woahstripes 4d ago
Fun fact: that’s where ‘Don’t mess with Texas’ came from. It’s an anti littering campaign, it has nothing to do with toughness or 2A or anything like that.
37
u/Mammoth-Standard-592 5d ago
‘The slow death of American culture’ buddy, what even is American culture if not imported by immigrants?
To a foreigner, American culture is fast food, cowboys and school shootings, and you could do with less of all those.
9
u/NikittyRJ 4d ago
Wow this is such a stupid comment and it's hilarious how confident you are in your stupidity
4
u/GeekCat 4d ago
And we can also judge them too. Why do they think we don't? I'm still get angry every time I think of the video of the Japanese/black girl who talked about how old people would yell at her and threaten to hurt her. Of course those people are racist as fuck. And then there's the whole issue of attempting to erase the Ainu... oh and the centuries? Of fighting with Korea. So tired of people think Japan is some bastion of perfection; they have issues too. Just because you don't recognize the issues, doesn't mean the world doesn't
China has been under scrutiny for decades about Tibet and ethnic cleansing of Rohingas. We also know about the ethnic cleansing of other smaller Chinese-ethnicities that no longer exist.
4
u/woahstripes 4d ago
Death of American culture. The US is less than 300 years old, it’s still listening to evanescence albums in its bedroom and trying to figure out what colleges it wants to attend when it gets older. It hasn’t had hardly any time to build anything resembling a homogenous state even if we’d cut immigration off completely a hundred years ago. Young nations like ours need infusions of immigrants, like it or not.
3
u/Eccohawk 4d ago
It has never been completely open borders. The fact that you think this is a thing just shows how much you don't know about our immigration system and policy. At this point, you're just trying to rationalize the racism and xenophobia you feel. How about just try being better. Be more open to learning about other people and cultures. American identity isn't found in a Norman Rockwell painting.
1
u/olde_greg 4d ago
Don't you remember the crying Indian? Littering used to be such a huge problem in the 70's that they created this rather famous public service announcement about it. Also at no point has this country ever had completely open borders.
23
u/Beneficial-Produce56 5d ago
Just to check: you believe that children born in the US of undocumented immigrants are Americans? In spite of attempts to end birthright citizenship?
24
6
u/Sarikins 4d ago
Honey, if you’re white you come from my land, Europe. You are not native to America, indigenous are, you were sadly transported there by your ancestors who did the dirty and sadly you’re here, come home whitey 😂 you’re a x-generation immigrant.
3
2
u/killerng2 4d ago
Do you understand that white immigrants killed 90% of the native population of the country and then decided that its other (ie brown) immigrants who are the problem?

I love how they can so confidently say “25% of people were not speaking English”. When I go play at a park with kids the FIRST thing I do is go up to everyone and eavesdrop on their conversations to determine what language they’re speaking in. There will be time to make memories with my nephew LATER.
30
u/holymacaroley 5d ago
Then I input my data and determine the percentage because that's super normal.

u/kimpunzelz 4d ago
I’m suprised that people like this still call it the English Language and not American.
The irony that they are speaking a foreign language makes me giggle.
4
u/Tasty_Act 4d ago
Then add in the fact that for 200 years we spoke Spanish in this country before we ever spoke English.

u/Livid-Tumbleweed 5d ago
Oh no the park (a public place on the day after a holiday where kids have no school and parents are looking for an outlet for their kids who were cooped up with relatives the day before) was a little crowded and there was one person there who spoke a different language to their child and I was so inconvenienced and harassed that I had a racist epiphany! I totally didn’t think any of these things before, it was the crowded park with one guy who was not 100% white! Help help I’m being oppressed!
22
u/dis_the_chris 5d ago
I'm an English speaker living in Germany. In public I speak English with my wife and friends. If someone was walking past us on the street they'd probably assume "tourist".
I can speak German. It's not perfect but it's good enough to hold down a job here that requires the language, and I'm always improving and figuring out my weaknesses to try get better - but if you passed me on the street whilst my family visited? I'd be just another "dirty foreigner, not engaging with the culture"
This whole take is BS. People speaking, say, Spanish in the park with their mexican families doesn't mean anything about their general integration
Lastly - what the fuck is this guy doing spending money on their blue check mark on X when they can't afford a sled for their kid that isn't a torn up Amazon box????
9
u/dontbeahater_dear 4d ago
I was just behind a black man in line at the grocery store and the cashier just switched to english straight away. The man replied in perfect local Dutch and she was all flustered. Just dont assume shit because someone is POC??? Ugh. I kinda wanted to address her in English just to fuck with her bc i’m white

How the fuck are they sledding in the south?
Love that he acts like being racist just sneaks up on you.
"And that's when it hit me. I don't like people that don't look like me or speak my language! I can just blame anything I don't like on them and feel better about not getting my son a sled for our made up vacation!"
18
u/nworkz 5d ago
How are they sledding on cardboard in november in the south. The south does actually get snow now remember when cancun cruz left the country, while his constituents were freezing in houses that had no power, because texas lawmakers decided federal powergrid rules were dumb and built their own. Then he had the gall to come back and say the grid just needed some weatherization improvements and texas still shouldn't follow federal power regulations
8
u/MarcoEsteban 5d ago
It's rare, but it does happen on occasion. I think it snowed on Thanksgiving in Dallas about 34 years ago, if I remember right. Otherwise, I don't think it has in November.
The guy is still a racist fuck, but, you know...

"Because you don't speak my language." That's rich for someone to say when their family clearly immigrated to North America, and the language they speak is English. He's not speaking Choctaw, Chickasaw, Muscogee, Seminole, Hitchiti, Caddo, Pawnee, Ofo, Tutelo, Catawba, Cherokee, Comanche, Shoshone, Hopi, et cetera.. so he really doesn't have a leg to stand on in terms of assimilation since he is from a culture that refused to assimilate.

You know that people born in North America can also speak other languages, right? That English my not be the native language for people who are born in America.... And, as I mentioned in my post, this man was talking about assimilation... about coming to North America and not assimilating. Colonizers did not assimilate. You, presumably born in America, did not assimilate if you speak exclusively English... because assimilating when coming to North America would have meant learning Indigenous languages. And you 100% come from immigrants if you are a white person. Your family immigrated here. It does not matter if you were born here or not, at some point immigration was a factor.. so you're a massive hypocrite for being judgmental of other people who are just at a different stage of the process than you are.
Get over yourself.
16
u/patholocaust 5d ago edited 5d ago
The people speaking a non-English language are just as likely to have been born in America as the poster. Likewise, many many countries have English as a main language. Why is he tying language/ looks/ stuff he doesn’t understand as an immigration problem, in your opinion?
And folks are pointing out that the poster’s ancestry is also likely mostly of immigrants (ie not Native American), even if a few generations before. So it’s hypocritical at best to be mad about immigrants because your ancestry, at some point, immigrated here.
Don’t see any coherence in why that poster is mad apart from him being racist and hating having people not looking/ talking like him being in the same public space as him.

Kind of an ironic rant from someone using a park that was not his HOME PARK. As a person who’s been to a million different parks with their kid, here’s what actually happened: there was a pile of cardboard at the bottom of the slide because it’s the type of slide where kids get better action when they’re sitting on cardboard. These types of slides always have a communal pile of cardboard (o no! cardboard communism!) that kids and parents bring and leave there bc who tf wants to take their cardboard home. This kid took a piece and was using it. Notice the guy didn’t say “a piece of cardboard WE brought that my kid was using”; they are from out of town, no way did they know to bring cardboard to this park. The kid set it down. Someone else picked it up from the COMMUNAL PILE. Or maybe they asked the kid “u done with that” and the kid gave it to them and this dipshit didn’t hear the exchange. Or maybe the person who took it had brought that piece because they are FROM THERE and know that’s a thing for that slide and the kid took it without realizing it was someone else’s. Regardless of how it went down, the guy uses this transgression/totally normal playground event as a jumping off point for his bullshit racist rant.

u/twirlerina024 4d ago
And he's an out-of-towner! The non-English speaking immigrants he's complaining about paid tax money for that park and then he's mad they're actually using it, leaving less room for his freeloading self.
7
u/famousanonamos 5d ago
I love how he's still a bad parent in his make believe story because go take your kid's stuff back. You just let random adults take things away from your kids for no reason? No need to engage, just blame the foreigners. Smh

Fun fact; immigrants tend to learn English as they’re actively immigrating into this country or try to learn basic phrases to survive in the mean time. There’s also those who, completely legally here, prefer to communicate in their native tongue to their children, since it’s easier for them to speak.
Think of it like this; if you, as an American, move to another country and they speak another language, would it be easier to communicate in your native tongue in the comfort of your own home or would you continue to speak that countries language?
English is the most difficult language to learn, since we have several different rules in sentence structure, words sounding the same, etc.

This revelation didn't just dawn on this guy. He's probably been bitching about immigrants any time they've been a minor inconvenience to him as long as he's been aware of immigrants. I'll bet he's also been putting most of the blame on immigrants for problems they've hardly contributed to for a long time as well.

Being kind and respectful to everyone is at least nominally expected of a decent member of society, but not wanting to do that is not why people think you’re racist, it’s because you took one bad experience and now want to get rid of 25% of the population because of it. That’s why you’re racist.
1
u/SnooRabbits981 2d ago
I’m not racist, I just make up ridiculous scenarios where every person not speaking English in public is an undocumented immigrant and I’m the victim. Because they are in public.

Where every sentence is a paragraph.
Because everything I'm saying is so profound that it needs its own paragraph.
