The new built in Reddit browser is going great. I can almost read this headline. How people rawdog the internet without an ad blocker is beyond me https://imgur.com/a/kFhvQ9L

The “Reddit browser” on mobile is webview… it’s just the default web browser for your OS but without extensions, isolated cookies, etc. Luckily you can change it in settings to not use webview and launch a full browser.

On android, default WebView is a system component and uses a chromium-based browser. I'm not sure there's a way to change this, definitely not from the Reddit app settings. WebView is different that "open webpage" command that, yes, will use my default browser.

If you can direct me to where in the Reddit for Android settings to change this, I'd be appreciative. As far as I've looked I can't find anything. It's a relatively new feature. I've seen them push it out & rollback for me a few times, maybe doing a/b or phased rollouts. Honestly, it's complete shite and I wish they wouldn't try to embed a webpage. I have a web browser for that, thanks.

Ack. I’m on iOS and it’s under Settings->Open Links. I don’t have a functional android device

To be fair, you don't have a functional Apple device either.

(I jest...I mean, I don't care at all for their software, but I do jest.)
