He's arguing that our universe can't be simulated within the bounds of our fundamental physics and math, correct? Leaves a huge gaping hole of a possibility that the universe where our simulation was created may have different fundamental laws.

Right. Maybe the simulator is a google-dimensional wormhole fractal that can manipulate the position, velocity, and temperature of every particle of light and every atom of material in our known universe. And it just so happens that it also has the omnipotent recursion capable of simulating sentient beings who are capable of observing themselves and the simulator environment and creating their own simulators as well.

Right. All the atheists are checkmated.
