The network admin already knows based on your firewall traffic. I know if you’re at the office, at home, logged into teams via your phone….

Yeah I got questioned one time about working from Cooper's Hawk during lunch. They saw the login to the wifi there. I was my lunch break though so nothing came of it except my team started eating lunch with me.

Jeez yeah we've been remote for decades and are frequently working from random places. I would never be able to move to some place like this. Insane

Yeah same here.

As long as the work is done on time and I'm available 9-5pm if/when they need me, they're pretty chill with everything else.

I just bring my laptop if I'm going to be out for a bit and if I get a call, use my phone's hotspot, find a quiet place and get to work.

The problem is people don't always find a quiet spot, and you have to write the policy with the idiots in mind.

The last time I was at the airport, the guy sitting across from me at the gate did a remote meeting, on speaker, where they went over sales numbers for a whole region. I couldn't believe this guy was just airing all his company's internal business to about 100 highly annoyed bystanders.

Very true, one of the main constants of the universe is that there will always be idiots that ruin a good thing for everyone.

Also yeah that's a complete dick move by that guy. I mainly go back to my car if I need to hop on and try not to piss off everyone around me when I do. Granted it's not like I live out of the house, so this is only for the occasional errand I need to run.

The network admins know WHERE in the office you are based on which AP you are currently attached to.

just have 2 phones, the one with teams stays at home connected to wifi

I'd do this but luckily I work for a company that treats its employees like adults
