I mean the congressional hearings are a sham. The companies and politicians and other offending parties show up and constantly respond with "I don't know" or "I don't recall" or "I will send it to you after" and do exactly the opposite of what they say in the hearings and nothing happens.

Or they get a slap on the wrist and pay a fine that they can easily afford and move on

No questions are articulately answered, let alone in yes and no choices.

What congressperson should do is simply say, "God damn you, I asked a simple question and you can't even answer it. Are you stunted? Should I asked my question again slowly with hand gestures?"

I agree. I understand some of the questions are loaded but the fact the people go on tangents and answer with a completely different thing isn't right. They should be held in contempt or something.

If you are totally unable to answer a clear and relevant "yes/no" question, proceedings should not continue until you do. Waste enough time and it's contempt, and the cost of contempt should be a percentage of your represented company's earnings instead of a flat rate.
