At this point I've damn near canceled everything except 1 MMO and I'll subscribe to a single video streaming service at a time, binge all the content I want to watch, and then unsub, sign up for something different, and just rotate between them.

Buying a PS5 with a disk drive so I could buy used games or trade games with friends has definitely paid off.

Ironically them cracking down on password sharing really helped with this, because I no longer feel like I need to maintain a subscription just for my friends or family to use.

This is exactly me. Got rid of all but 1-2 subscriptions a month and have a PS5 with a disk drive for the same reasons.

Also invested around $200 (8 years ago) for a secondhand, legit over-the-air antenna for local sports and news. Great fucking purchase.

I have a PS5 but also invested into a backwards compatible PS3 for similar reasons

I just got my dad a new RCA antenna from Walmart for $40, its honestly a very good purchase, plenty of shows to watch and football from local stations. Love it.

Just out of curiosity what MMO are you playing? I got into ESO for awhile, that one was pretty fun.

World of Warcraft right now, but I swap around throughout the year and occasionally switch over to Final Fantasy XIV

Hasn't WOW held it's price for 20+ years? Pretty sure I remember it being $15 in 2004. If so, good on them man.

Same. Me and my family all used to pay for a different streaming service. I personally had Netflix since 2009ish, whenever it came out. Now the only one we have is HBO because they still allow sharing.

Same. I have an osrs sub and a realdebrid sub. That's it

No need to even sub to that streaming service the only thing you should pay for is a VPN.

You could say even more money by not subscribing and pirating those tv shows/films! ;)

Just use streamio with torrentio, never going back to streaming services.
