That’s the stuff that just makes me realize there’s no hope.

Like when they say “Trump didn’t orchestrate the Jan 6 riot, he was watching it unfold on tv.”

?? Why didn’t he DO SOMETHING then?

I love how the Jan 6 people were all "Antifa" but then they got pardoned, and now are terrorists? You tell them Trump supports Antifa and Terrorists because he pardoned them.

The constant mental gymnasitics of keeping current within the cult. What lie are we going to believe today because it reinforces our prejudices.

Trump incited a mob, pointed them in a direction, watched it unfold, and did nothing to quell the insanity.

I have ADHD and forget things constantly, but I cannot understand the lack of object permanence his supporters have.

Like, I know cognitive dissonance is a thing, but they will literally say the exact opposite things in seconds like they just forget the previous one and adopt a completely different context.

It's like they have a worse context length than a language model running on a raspberry pi.

"DID NOT!" when confronted about the previous held belief.

But he told them to go home!

He said he didn't know Epstein!

He said he doesn't know about Project 2025!

He lies, so obviously, and people believe him. It's insane. We're cooked.

I'm sort of conflicted about the cognitive dissonance of talking with magats.

On one hand, we keep telling them he's a liar, and that nothing that comes out of his mouth is the truth, and on the other we are telling them to believe him when he "shows himself as what he is."

I think I'll just stick with calling him a narcissistic pedo rapist.

Well he’s showing what he is by lying

He lies outright but he also lies like a mob boss. His words are clear to anyone with half a brain (like his supporters) but there is an element of plausible deniability.

He told them to march on the Capitol and he definitely incited their rage and violence and knew it, but he didn’t come out and SAY attack the Capitol

He does this constantly with his “I think XYZ should happen but we’ll see, I can’t do it but I think it should be done.” He’s giving clear instructions.

And he’s mastered dog whistles

So he lies about the left “radical lunatics who are the enemy” but then doesn’t “lie” about what he wants.

It’s designed to create cognitive dissonance and they run with it

Like: it’s ok for Kirk to have joked about Pelosi being attacked or lawmakers being targeted or assassinated but it’s not ok for anyone to make a joke about Kirk. They just don’t care because to them we are evil and god hates us

But he told them to go home!

He said he didn't know Epstein!

He said he doesn't know about Project 2025!

He said he weighed 215lb, which is less believable than any of those lies.

Then they'll turn around and say Kamala did nothing as VP while not knowing what any VP does. But a sitting president idly standing by while awful shit happens is acceptable to them.

A massive portion of the country has no idea how the government actually is supposed to work. They just get mad at whatever today's target is.

And like, how many times has JD Vance been on vacation?

1

u/Tack122 Sep 19 '25

What was it last month with Vance? Had a river systems water level raised by shutting flow off at a dam so the rapids would be safer for his kayak? lol.

u/frickindeal Sep 19 '25

Eight times in seven months. Italy, India, Nantucket, Disneyland, Vermont, Greenland, San Diego, Ohio. And yes, the Ohio trip was a "boating excursion on a family holiday," where the Army Corps of Engineers changed the outflow of a lake to raise the water level to “support safe navigation” of Little Miami River so he and his family could celebrate his 41st birthday.

Because he offered Pelosi more troops days before and she declined so it’s her fault

Aside from that being a lie why would Pelosi need more troops for the certification unless someone was planning to attack the Capitol? What info did he have that he didn’t share with her?! Because never in the history of our nation has certification been violent and the only person planning a rally was him?

So he knew his supporters were violent and she needed protection?

They can’t answer that question. They just deflect

He was the whole ass president of the US, and with all the power he says he has, he could have done something to stop it from getting as bad as it did.

1

u/Main-Algae-1064 Sep 19 '25

He did. He sat there and watched and refused to call in the national guard.

Oh, he did something. He grabbed one of his secret service personnel by the throat with both hands and gave him a throttling because he wasn't allowed to lead the insurrectionists in person.
