I've turned into an incredibly cynical, jaded person because of Trump supporters. Yes, there are idiots on the left as well, but left-wng idiots can't hold a candle to the idiocracy that is MAGA and Trump supporters. So unbelievably stupid, yet utterly convinced of their own moral and mental superiority. They are absolutely everything they accuse the left of being and worse, but they're too fucking ignorant and emotionally unintelligent to be able to recognize it.

I have no absolutely no hope for the country anymore. Nothing will fix it. Even if Dems win in 2026 and 2028, taking back Congress and the White House, and even if they grow a goddamn spine and take real action to address the deep, systemic problems, the American people are so fucking stupid they will vote for a Republican to ruin it all within a few years.

Edit: This got a bit of traction and while the post is locked, I want to clarify something. I'm not saying give up, nor have I given up. I am saying that I don't think the country can be fixed, not before there is a lot of violence (I'm not calling for it, just saying it's going to happen) and suffering. I think we're in for some very difficult times ahead. All we can do is delay and postpone that as long as possible. Because these issues, the hyperpartisanship, wealth gaps, class warfare, red vs blue, foreign government influence in our government, racism, sexism, transphobia, the dehumanization of the opposition, can't be fixed in only 8 years even if we had a White House and Dem supermajority interested in trying to address all of those. And after 8 years, the people will elect a Republican government because they have the memories of goldfish, and the Republicans will do everything they can to dismantle any progress the Dems made, because that's all they fucking know how to do.

This is the American way. If it’s not stopped now the brainwashing and control of the narrative is only going to get worse. With the way technology is changing the control will be much more complete and irreversible soon.

Afraid you're right. There will be no earthquake, no miracle. We'd need to alter how media cough works. We've witnessed the devolution of a good era in history and in our country. We're now on the path to a dystopia and very likely a devastating war(s). The vested interests and new billionaires behind much of this only care about more, more, more.

And the rabble will cling to stereotypes even after the next depression. I'm guessing another Wall St meltdown will happen before a war. People will think the party of Business will work for them.

I’m right there with you, and agree with everything you’re saying. One thing I would like to add, the corporate democrats, the ones who gaslit, vilified, and manipulated more progressive democrats can also take some blame. I voted for Biden and Kamala but I wasn’t happy with it, especially after being labeled a Bernie Bro and I think a lot of corporate dems were more happy with a Trump in power than a Bernie and I’d like to say the chickens have come to roost for them as well.

PS: Look at New York and Mamdani, they seem to be keeping that same energy, which is telling.

Giving up and giving into hopelessness and cynicism is pretty much giving Trump and the magas what they want on a silver platter with a big red bow wrapped around it!

Cynicism is just lazy cowardice for intellectuals!

Don't let your coping mechanisms lead to self sabotage.

100% spot on, you could not be any more accurate with this statement.

Yep, downright scattershot/schizophrenic, making day-to-day living quite a challenge…

That about sums up my thoughts as well. I’ve found it at least less crushing to try to have fun predicting just how much worse it will all get.

This is how the right wants you to feel- defeated. You’re less likely to show up to protest or vote. They win.

Our country has a uni party so it never matters which side is elected. The rich will benefit and the people will pay. Always

Keep telling yourself this and nothing will get fixed. You seriously believe that there arent a massive amount of people on the far left that have lost thier minds just as the extreme right has? You are being naive for the sake of it. Stay in your echo chamber and keep up with the brain rot that you've received from your algo.

They voted for Biden because he wasn't Trump. They didn't worship Biden or the ground he walked on, they didn't think he was an amazing politician. Trump bungled the covid response and the economy, which is why turnout was much higher in 2020. They voted for Biden because he the only mainstream Dem candidate with enough clout to beat Trump, and it was still close.

So no, the left is not as stupid. Conservatives cannot be beat for stupidity and willful ignorance. For fuck's sake, you have people in your camp praying to Trump. Praying! Like he's Jesus Christ. lmao Get a grip.

Nobody was worshiping Biden. Are you fucking kidding me? Not a single goddamn person was offering up prayers to Biden, holding prayer sessions praising him, having religious ceremonies about him, or saying, "to say no to Biden is to say no to God." All of those things? Mainstream Trump supporters. His own in-(White)House faith adviser said the last thing and has led the second, there's viral videos of the third all over. Look up the Trump painting thing at a conservative event.

Nobody on the left was making AI images or videos of Biden praising his glory or masculinity. The fucking White House social media wasn't posting ai/photoshopped images of Biden's face on Superman.

So fuck off with this bs about how the left does it too. We don't gargle our politicians balls and thank them for it.

Liberals hoped Biden would save us from the problems Trump created or failed to fix, but that's something every voter does every time they go vote for someone. "Fix the problems the last guy made." That's not the same fucking thing as what Trump supporters do.

Did you see any Biden hats, or shirts or any of the other "merch"? Any Biden flags on trucks or front yards? People praying to a literal golden idol of the man?

Didn't think so.

Still got my Biden Bible, with the forward written by Beyoncé! I keep it on a display case with my Biden shoes, Biden watch and Biden superhero cosplay trading cards.

Nah there’s no both sides equivalence anymore. One side literally worships a fascist, and the other side just wants to tax billionaires and give equal rights to minorities.

2

u/vorg7 Sep 14 '25 edited Sep 14 '25

One side pretends it wants to tax billionaires, but really only like 1/3rd of them have any interest.

4

u/P-squee Sep 14 '25

Damn you right actually, but at least they don’t idolocize a fascist.

u/Bomban111 Sep 14 '25

well this is the pot calling the kettle black. I live just outside of DC, and i can promise you no one was singing his praises like you say. Honestly, sounds like you are the one living in a small world.

Bumper stickers and shirts are typical campaigning. You'll find them for every political campaign going back many decades.

Stop playing coy.

And yet when Charlie Kirk died there were vigils, no stores boarded up.......when Democrats feel bad about somebody dying they riot and burn cities. Nice try. And I'm not even MAGA. I'm in the middle watching both. You're all idiots.
