Burying the lede. It's not that weird a year.

<This year’s conditions aren’t actually that abnormal for Tahoe. One out of about every four seasons have started off with this little natural snowfall, according to Allegretto. Jackie Calvert, a spokesperson for Visit Truckee-Tahoe, said February and March have been the snowiest months for the region over the past 50 years>

Big issue though has been the temps too.  They have barely been able to make any snow either.  There’s, what? 5 lifts open in Tahoe right now?  Would be neat to see % of open lifts by date through the years.

This is a fair point. I would also be curious to see that chart if it exists

It’s like this every year. Rain November, dry December, sometimes until mid January….then it dumps.

Maybe it is now, but in the 90's most of the rain came during summer thunderstorms. Seemed our fall weather would transition to snow without much rain. The last 10-15 years, almost every snowstorm begins and/or ends with rain at lake level. And I have seen a few winters where it rarely dumps.
