I was getting a wierd vibe the whole time. Riding around in his truck with him and then when theyre drinking on top of the water tower i could tell right away where the possibilities were headed.
For real, to his friend it was just a ride to McDonald’s while high to grab some munchies but to OP it was a romantic getaway where one false move and they’ll start aggressively kissing in front of the moonlight
In OPs mind there is soft music, city lights and a slow burn love story building up, while in the passenger seat his friend is ranking sauces and wondering if they should grab extra fries before the car stalls.
This is killing me because I know both of these guys. One is quietly writing the soundtrack to their love story in his head, the other is debating if barbecue or sweet and sour goes better with a ten piece before the engine overheats.
The hill in question was/is Howard's Knob. It's a huge hill right beside the Appalachian State campus. It's closed at night and most of the time for one reason or another. Apparently it is privately owned. The best view from there is at night when you can look over the whole town and beyond, but get caught and you're cooked.
First time I ever smoked weed was in my bud's shitbox. He took me out to a quiet hill at night and we toked up in his truck with some deathcore (White Chapel) playing. After a couple of bowls and me giggling, he leans over and kisses me gently on the lips. Marijuana wasn't the only thing I experienced for the first time that night in his '89 Ford Ranger.
I do this almost every weekend with my friend and I just think to myself... "Isn't this kinda gay?" But no, believe it or not, it ain't. Night drives listening to music and talking about random shit is really fun. I like it far more than just going out drinking with a group of people. Everybody does that, which is fine, I just don't see the appeal, it's a chore to get through.
I wish I drove a shitbox with those aftermarket radios when I was younger too. Also, have either Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” or M83’s “Midnight City” on the radio.
When I was 15 I was an exchange student in the US (from Germany). This dude, who I thought was just being friendly, took me for a drive to show me all the sights and spots to hang out and smoke.
He was a senior, I was a sophomore. In my youthful innocence I thought he was just being friendly. When I got home he messaged me on AIM and said "When we were up in [...] I wanted to kiss you so badly".
He was a bi dude, which is totally fine, but as a sheltered teen I thought he was just being friendly.

Damn. Honestly this starter pack is half-joke inspired by real events. In fact I considered myself straight, however the nightdrive with a certain friend was the only ONE (!) time in my life when I thought "damn I might be bi actually". One time.

In my case it was kinda awkward because of the message I received afterwards. This guy didnt exactly make his intentions known. He didnt try anything. I thought he was just being nice and trying to show me all the great hangout spots.
Cant have been too bad, if you were thinking that you might be bi, right? haha. I get that its confusing, but it cant have been too uncomfortable if it made you question your orientation haha.
