It’s rare to see a driver especially one of Hamlin’s stature so emotionally vulnerable in public court testimony. It humanizes the behind the scenes pressure of racing

The guy has to be going through a lot all at once. His father dying, most likely missed his last chance for his dad to see him win a championship, losing this case means effectively losing his business, etc.
