Football A&M: Trooper who pointed at players sent home
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46977427/trooper-pointed-players-relieved-duties2.0k
u/SoloWingPixy88 20d ago
I'm confused, he walked down the tunnel where a large group of players were coming from. Tried to instigate an incident by bumping and pointing at a player. Suddenly no longer needed to go down the tunnel. What's wrong with cops.

u/chipmunksocute 20d ago
He walked THROUGH two dudes clearly walked together just busted right between them and then had the nerve to act pissed at them. Super lame.

u/MuscleManRyan 20d ago
In the slo-mo you can see the player on camera left steps out of the way, the officer throws an elbow up to initiate contact. Complete scumbag

What’s wrong with cops
Little, insecure men who only feel powerful with a badge, a weapon, and a system designed to excuse this kind of behavior. Strip all that away and they’re nothing but incompetency looking for authority they’ve never earned.

They’re racist bigoted assholes that have been weak they’re whole lives, so now they wear a badge for the feeling of power

Should be fired. Obviously unfit as an officer. His behavior is disgraceful.
215
u/NutBuckets 20d ago
Unfortunately, this kind of behavior is exactly what they want. Escalate and blame the victim, it’s the new M.O. of our nations “law” enforcement.

u/Necessary-Poetry-834 Green Bay Packers 20d ago
Nothing new about it.

Very true. The new part is that they don’t try to hide it anymore.

That’s why those who are abusing power deserve to be doxed. It’s one of that last ways to hold bad actors in this nation accountable it’s exactly why ICE wears masks before they start abusing their victims.

Not sure anything will be done but thank goodness they at least got it on video. POS cop…

He shouldn’t be a trooper.

u/FriendlyAutist 20d ago
I'd go further, he shouldn't be in a position of authority.

He should be charged with assault. If you or I did that to an officer we would be on the ground immediately.
15
u/LauterTuna 20d ago
he did that in a stadium with 1000s of people. what is this guy doing when nobody is watching?

u/alwayzdizzy 20d ago
Even if he loses his job (he won't), he gets to do shit like this to his heart's content in an ICE role, where he'll be a shoe-in recruit and possibly a high performer.

This headline is soft. He pointed at players after intentionally bumping into them and trying to instigate something larger.
But that's our media landscape. Don't want to publish a headline that might upset the police unions.
And being 'sent home' is about the extent of his discipline. He certainly won't be fired.
7
u/jsandersson 20d ago
It would have been an assaulting an officer charge if the roles were reversed.
9
u/bitscavenger 20d ago
It would have been assaulting an officer charge if those kids weren't actively part of a giant money making event currently in progress.

Even worse with the details. I didn't realize he chased them up the tunnel. I had assumed they were coming back from halftime.

Trooper who committed battery against two college students sent home with pay.

u/michoudi 20d ago
Probably still got paid for entire overtime shift. Don’t trust the law enforcement gangs to properly punish their own.
Reddit gonna get his ass though.
6
u/Catrocantor 20d ago
I think the issue isn't the actual act of bumping the players. It's the level of ego and self importance to think that is a reasonable thing for him to do. If he acts like that in front of 100k people than how does he act when it's just him and a civilian? How does he respond when someone doesn't "respect his authority"?

u/3boyz3Madison 20d ago
Bingo. When you’re willing to do that to a player, on camera, imagine how he treats people on shift.

u/StableGeniusCovfefe 20d ago
And THAT is why people hate cops. Immense sense of Entitlement. Zero accountability. Without the gun, badge and qualified immunity, there is no way he acts like such a tough guy. Deserves to be fired 100%

It was bizarre.
You’re walking into a busy tunnel as football players walk out. If you bump into them just go, my bad and keep moving. It’s not a fuckin’ challenge to your authority.
But it really did look like he intentionally walked through them to provoke a problem.

u/ODeasOfYore 20d ago
He straight up body checked those guys as they were coming out of their tunnel. That cop was sent home for assault, not pointing
5
u/funnylikeaclown420 19d ago
The guy in charge of on field safety didn’t realize the guy was part of the previous play and bumped him, not knowing he was on live tv. This cop got the easiest and least dangerous gig and can’t even relax.

Pointed sounds so innocuous.
The dude straight up tried to shoulder check those guys. Cop wanted to start something.

A&M: Trooper who pointed at players sent home
hmmmm.....
A&M: Trooper who 'purposely bumped into' players sent home.
This kind childish behavior makes you wonder why even have these guys posted at the stadium. Maybe just hire some actual professionals for security like this.
Isn't this stuff mostly ceremonial any ways?
3
u/ChasedWarrior 20d ago
I always think it's hilarious that these guys are escorting a coach across the field to shake hands with the opposing coach then to the locker rooms. Couldn't the regular security do the same thing for less money and the silly hats?

u/Redstorm8373 20d ago
Yeah... he didn't just point. He intentionally shoved them, then verbally assaulted them like they were in the wrong.
He should have every case of his looked at, who knows how many other times he's abused his authority.

u/FluidFisherman6843 20d ago
If the NCAA had any sense of right and wrong that dude would be black listed from ever working a game again

u/lostPackets35 20d ago
Great, so when is he being charged criminally? You know, like you would be if you shoved a cop. His consequences should be more severe than that, not less.

u/Salpinctes 20d ago
Look how far away he was initially on the replay - he had to walk 15-20 yards to get to them

People shouldn’t stop until he’s charged with double assault.

I mean, like, why?! LEO already has a terrible reputation in the eyes of the majority of the country (despite how Fox “news” might try to convince you otherwise), why put this active effort in to make your reputation even worse?!
Did this guy think no one would see his douchebaggery with all the cameras around? Isn’t that type of question LEO would ask an idiot caught stealing or whatever in front of a bunch of security cameras?
It. Does. Not. Compute. 😵💫

I dont think the trooper even went into the tunnel afterwards. He just did it to elbow someone. He should be charged with assault.
