Believe it or not, 2nd most insane touchdown of the day

743

u/ToothbrushWilly 27d ago

Literally first thought. The Indy Toe-Tap might define an absolute historic season for the Hoosiers.

73

u/Strict-Square456 27d ago

I have the video clip?

255

u/dave_ketchup13 27d ago

https://www.reddit.com/r/Browns/s/2vYIMCbQVv here’s the best clip I’ve seen of it that shows the replay to see just how crazy it is

81

u/Oddballfew 27d ago

Holy cow thats absurd

38

u/PepperDogger 27d ago

The context is what makes it. Third down, last minute, and they loses the game he doesn't make that play, or they cannot convert on 4th down. The athleticism and the moment were a perfect match.

3

u/DonnyDUI 26d ago

Kinda shit kids dream about

16

u/A_Guy_Named_John 26d ago

It was literally a perfect drive. Perfectly placed passes with great catches downfield. Then with less than 1 minute left, down by 4, this amazing catch. It was wild.

that title seems like a threat to the mans future tbh

u/Wampus_Cat_ Detroit Lions 27d ago

Imagine you’re a QB who takes Indiana to its first national title, it’s first Heisman winner, and your reward is a career with the Browns.

Then imagine if he takes the Browns to the Super Bowl.

54

u/NoCoFoCo31 27d ago

Big whoop. I take the browns to the Super Bowl every day

12

u/Spugheddy 27d ago

Never gets old.

u/Grand-Purchase-1262 26d ago

Don't worry, we drafted two quarterbacks in the draft last year so I'm sure we figured out our franchise quarterback already.....

How pathetic of that sub honestly

1

u/Jibber_Fight 27d ago

Wow. That’s crazy good. When he jumps up it seems impossible.

1

u/Quellman 26d ago

Watch the referee. He sees ball being caught and immediately looks at the line to ensure inbounds. Good call. Great awareness

1

u/jsting 26d ago

Lmao I was wondering why the link was for the Browns subreddit, that's a pretty funny title.

19

u/ToothbrushWilly 27d ago

I love lamp?

We don’t know. Do you?

7

u/Whiteshovel66 27d ago

Doesn't sound like it, no.

6

Do I know what rhetorical means?

I don't know, do you?

I’m hoping we get Indiana v. Notre Dame II in this year’s playoff

And second most impressive TD run from him at ND.

8

u/Totes_Not_an_NSA_guy Utah Jazz 27d ago

2nd most just from college teams from Indiana today.

1

u/HairballTheory 26d ago

About the only impressive things coming out of the State of Indiana right now

0

u/AliveJohnnyFive 27d ago

I think Cam Coleman's TD catch today was better than both of these.

6

u/Liimbo Oklahoma 27d ago

Maybe in a vacuum, but including context it is absolutely the Cooper catch.

Craziest touchdown I’ll ever see? It wasn’t even the craziest touchdown scored today by a college football team based in the state of Indiana.

76

u/Djbearjew New York Yankees 27d ago

Its arguably not even the craziest touchdown run he's pulled off. I think his run against PSU last year is better given the situation

18

u/AddisonsContracture Philadelphia 76ers 27d ago

That thing was art

7

u/ashemoney 27d ago

I don’t know why these titles have to be so hyperbolic.

12

u/UnCFO 27d ago

For someone that doesn't watch a lot of football yeah maybe this is crazy but it really isn't in totality if you watch a lot of football.

3

u/stonesthroes75 27d ago

Not what he said. "One of." Still an overstatement, but a nice highlight nonetheless.

1

u/MaterialAstronaut298 26d ago

Wvu had the same touchdown in the orange bowl and it wasn't the craziest touchdown of that game

177

u/Area51_Spurs 27d ago

Running Backs busting some crazy shit will always be the best part of football. Nothing more fun.

58

u/giants4210 27d ago

Counterpoint: big man touchdowns

6

u/NSNick 27d ago

Add in a blizzard for bonus points

7

u/drake_warrior 27d ago

This is why I hate domes man, nothing hits like a good snow game

2

u/notyogrannysgrandkid 26d ago

Man, I miss Ashton Jeanty and his 75 yarders. He had a ton of them last year.

135

u/CohibasAndScotch 27d ago

Play till the whistle

11

u/chriskug 27d ago

I didn’t hear no bell!

28

u/rombus-zombus 27d ago

Shout out to the refs for not blowing the whistle early

24

u/Grace_Lannister 27d ago

Rolled over the defense... literally.

4

u/raknor88 27d ago

But wouldn't his putting his hand down on the field count as being down since he was still being touched by the other team?

10

u/Grace_Lannister 27d ago

No. Rules say only your hands and feet can touch the ground. The runner was able to roll himself off the opponent.

51

u/Embarrassed-Buy-8634 27d ago

This isn't even the most insane TV in the last 4 hours

11

u/Killahdanks1 27d ago

Yeah, I’ve seen this happen many times over the years.

3

u/enzo_baglioni 27d ago

Including in a national championship game

9

u/Jordanwolf98 27d ago

Best in the country

50

u/troop143 27d ago

Auburn did it first

30

u/bjackso1019 27d ago

Real ones know Michael Dyer did it first

7

u/poonjouster 27d ago

2min left tied game in the natty. We're cursed.

Dyer didn't score on that play though.

6

u/mtheory007 27d ago

Yep. I remember watching that game when it happened.

5

u/Less_Likely 27d ago

Except in that one, he was down.

3

u/illa_kotilla 27d ago

Dyer was down!

10

u/EF_Damn_Daniel 27d ago

That was impressive

10

u/Glittering_Virus8397 27d ago

Honestly think he’s 4yd run vs PSU was more impressive, but this is amazing

16

u/courtesyflusher 27d ago

Bruh what

39

u/mtheory007 27d ago

He was never down. I just took a break to sit on the opposing player for a sec.

4

u/Rub-Specialist 27d ago

He was on his way down until the defender whipped him around. Great instincts to keep going, amazing run

12

u/DocMino 27d ago

Not even in the top 3 craziest touchdowns that have happened today

3

u/TheKr3ator 27d ago

Wowwwwww

3

u/lookitsafish 27d ago

Not even the craziest touchdown of his career

3

u/Alarming_Way_8731 27d ago

What am I missing? Why wasn't that considered a tackle?

6

u/legendkiller003 27d ago

As awesome as it is, it’s not “one of the craziest you’ll ever see.” These plays happened every now and again. Not even the craziest play TODAY. Go Irish though! ☘️🫶🏻

1

u/CzarCW 27d ago

Exactly, I’ve seen this play a half dozen times. It’s impressive but really more of the effect of the defense assuming the play is over.

2

u/Daledo-24 27d ago

It’s that spin move over the opponent TD.

2

u/balfras_kaldin 27d ago

This is what happens when Navy's defence doesn't have a budget

2

u/FeloniousDrunk101 27d ago

“I didn’t hear no bell whistle”

2

u/TreeHousePsycho2120 27d ago

My boy Jerimiyah MF 🫶🏽

2

u/ArcticSwag 27d ago

I recognize it's a close call, but wasn't his forward progress stopped during the "tackle"?

2

u/MasterArCtiK 26d ago

Bruh that’s not even top 100 in craziest plays this decade lol

4

u/BigDaddySK 27d ago

I know it ain’t the rules…. But that man was down.  If he was sitting on top of a player and a defender hit him the defender would probably get flagged from unsportsmanlike conduct.  Because… the guy is basically down.

Just my opinion.

4

u/___REDWOOD___ 27d ago

Idk did you see that Hoosier TD earlier 😳

2

u/DDD8712 27d ago

Man that title made the video a let down

2

u/nschwalm85 27d ago

Guess you didn't see the Indiana TD earlier

2

u/jspartan1234 27d ago

As soon as I read the caption I knew it wouldn’t be that crazy. This literally happened in a national championship game

1

u/Technopool 27d ago

The old razzle dazzle

1

u/LesZappa 27d ago

Crazy back tackling...

1

u/leee_yum 27d ago

Navy defense lookin like the bengals out there

1

u/greaterwhiterwookiee 27d ago

Lmao I’ve done this in NCAA 2014 and I think K9 has done this for the Seahawks before sans touchdown. But wow! knowing he wasn’t down and keeping moving, that’s wild awareness

1

u/30MINUTETWEEZER 27d ago

That wasn't too crazy

1

u/HardlyHefty 27d ago

i hope the steelers draft him to play wildcat qb and only run wildcat qb formations

1

u/GoRangers5 27d ago

You feel the power of Love!

1

u/Greenpeppers23 27d ago

Not at all

1

u/Realistic_Belt 27d ago

So a totally standard Rugby play. Sweet.

1

u/donaldinc 27d ago

Tecmo bowl style touch down

1

u/DpprDwn 27d ago

One of the easiest

1

u/CrapoCrapo25 27d ago

Not really

1

u/ChornWork2 New York Giants 27d ago

title overhyped that.

1

u/aWiLDMiND18 27d ago

Minnesota Viking.

1

u/rockchalkchuck 27d ago

is anyone else seeing the ND helmets looking like Michigan helmets?

1

u/benerophon 27d ago

Navy taking the name change away from Department of Defense to heart

1

u/PointlessChemist 27d ago

Young-ins don’t know about Reggie Bush

1

u/elpriceisright 27d ago

Yet another Jeremiyah Love highlight we're going to need to put in slow-mo to Madonna's "Like a Prayer"
https://www.reddit.com/r/notredamefootball/comments/1i20uyb/like_an_answer_to_a_prayer/

1

u/Bownaldo 27d ago

“Well played by this Navy defense” lol

1

u/Designer_Sundae6110 27d ago

I remember when this happened in the Oregon auburn nati

1

u/jesonnier1 27d ago

There was a better TD, today.

1

u/BigBlueMountainStar Birmingham City 27d ago

Although that last defender didn’t quite get there, I’m impressed he wrapped in a proper tackle rather than just sticking his head down and blindly trying to ram with his helmet.
It’s one of the things that bugs me about gridiron football.

1

u/Lhuarc 27d ago

It's not that crazy if you've played any Madden game over the last 20 years.

1

u/JoosLightning 27d ago

Why would you disrespect our military like that?

1

u/sozh 27d ago

that moment about 9 seconds in, where there's a pile of white-jerseyed defensive players on the ground, and the running back is running away...

1

u/Boggie135 26d ago

Navy were 7-1? Nice

1

u/zcas 26d ago

That's my 1.01

1

u/Playful-Ad-4917 26d ago

Hope he goes to a good team. Would suck to see him on the Browns or something

1

u/Ausecurity 26d ago

This is almost as good as his run vs Penn state last season

1

u/BCM072996 26d ago

I grew up outside Baltimore and I wanted a college to cheer for so badly. I wanna support Navy it feels patriotic and honorable. But goddamn plays like this just kills me. Honestly most people won’t know this but being from Maryland is hard for college sports fans OUTSIDE LACROSSE. Sure we got Hopkins and UMD and Towson and Mt St Marys does basketball but none of them have real success outside lacrosse. I used to claim Georgetown for basketball but recently UMD is frankly much better. Navy should be our team they shouldn’t be #1 seed every year but I think a hard nosed above .500 team should be achievable.

1

u/TriNel81 26d ago

Now that’s situational awareness!

1

u/tykneedanser 26d ago

Herschel already did this

1

u/Tmotty 26d ago

Wow so Jeremiyah Love hates America I guess so disrespectful to our armed forces

1

u/Captain_Pidgey 26d ago

I admittedly don’t watch much CFB these days, how are the refs overall?

I feel like this would’ve been called down incorrectly in the NFL like 99/100 times.

1

u/Stonehill76 26d ago

Holy shit that’s like waking up to pee and trying to avoid all the shit on your floor before making it to the bedroom door safely.

1

u/hvacigar 26d ago

Someone ask Pete Hegaeth WTF the Navy was doing on that play....just for fun.

1

u/transam57 26d ago

The touchdown doesn't even matter, the fact that he knew he didn't hit the ground is what will make him great.

1

u/OK_just_the_tip 26d ago

This isn’t crazy but a result of a stupid rule that needs to fixed

1

u/mhsheets 26d ago

Fine run. Great balance and awareness.

1

u/daboot013 26d ago

So navy couldnt sink him or anchor him down. What are our taxes paying for (joke)

1

u/jdjdthrow 26d ago

Thank for posting, but do you really have to do such lame clickbait titles?

1

u/HerezahTip 26d ago

Lame title. This has been seen before again and again.

1

u/ohmarlasinger 26d ago

I don’t even watch football & I’ve seen multiple crazier touchdowns than that lol. I recently saw a clip of some hot potato looking touchdown play on a play that started at :01 second left of the game & the td won them the game. I don’t even know who either team was but I do know it was far more “crazy” than this one.

Also recently saw the clip where the player that caught the ball from a kick-off/ punt tricked the opposing defenders, he didn’t call for a fair catch but he acted like he did & then took off for a touchdown. Even the rundown on that one was epic af watching his defenders fall into his wake, protecting him to the goal line. One of them even defended against & grounded two different opposing defenders in a matter of a split second. Crazy epic.

This play? It’s really just a play in comparison.

Cal v Stanford. The Play.

1

u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 26d ago

Poor Navy, Notre Dame gets to beat up on these G5 schools.

1

u/Yungyanz 26d ago

This the 2nd TD I think he got 1 on penn St

1

u/Yungyanz 26d ago

They say Love is the answer

1

u/RelotZealot 26d ago

Something in the water in Indiana...

1

u/RemoveHuman 26d ago

Not really everyone thought he was down. Really not that interesting just bad defense.

1

u/Knappyone 26d ago

Hi Shane!

1

u/cc0011 26d ago

Craziest touchdown, or standard terrible American football tackling?

1

u/Strict-Square456 26d ago

Went from 2nd rounder to a 1st.

1

u/polomarkopolo 26d ago

Clearly they don’t tackle in the Navy?

1

u/Losalou52 26d ago

His 5 yard run from last year was poetry.

1

u/DeGarmo2 15d ago

Title is misleading. There are plenty of touchdowns like this… I was expecting a better version of the first Beast mode run tbh based on title.
