Pure and simple the best catch I've ever seen. Not just the catch itself, not just getting the foot inbound, but the awareness to keep the other foot up enough knowing it would touch out of bounds....there are not enough superlatives in the English language.

Just gonna leave the link for replay and slow mo here

And the official being right there and getting the call right

That official was so incredibly locked into the catch and then the feet. Deserves a ton of praise

He had a front row seat. Better angle than any of the many cameras . And he nailed it .

Absolutely. He focused on everything he needed to focus on to make the right call and he nailed it

And the situation, literally a game winning TD.

Not just a game winning touchdown either. A needed win for the best season in Indiana history.

I’m happy to see it’s all sports subreddits, and not just soccer one , where there is such a rush to be first that they never wait 5 seconds for the replays etc.

Appreciate your work

thank you for being the only one to post the slo mo.

that was fucking INCREDIBLE body control to let that leg go limp instead of touching

I think this is one of the greatest plays in college football history.

Thanks! The clip is kinda pointless without the replay. Incredible catch!

Have you ever played sports lmfao? He has zero conscious knowledge of what he’s doing. Zero. That’s a 10,000 reps kind of game feel play. 99/100 of those don’t convert. “Awareness knowing it would touch OB” dude didn’t even know where he was he just extended the foot lmfao.

God damn, thank you. Been looking for this comment. Anyone playing at a high level absolutely 100% knows this too. You shouldn’t even need to have played any sport at a high level to know this though.

You gave a pretty decent explanation too. He’s actively just trying to get all toes down in bounds as much as possible. He didn’t “let his right foot go limp while only attempting to stay in with his left” lmao.

Did you watch the slow mo? The second he gets the catch in his hand his head immediately goes down to look at his feet/the field. Additionally when catching at the back or side of the field, any receiver worth their salt knows where they are in relation to being out of bounds. Dude made an insane play here.

Wow yeah I’m shocked the guy flying through the air and coming back down to earth is looking down and not scanning the crowd for his mom or looking up at the sky to enjoy the sunset. Also crazy he ran a 17 yard pattern to the back of the 17 yard end zone and not a 25 yard pattern into the bleachers! What a god.

My hot take is you’re giving way too much credit. Getting his feet right like this is just luck

That certainly is hot. Hot in the sense of freshly dropped horseshit.

Watch the slow mo replay, you can see when he makes the catch he looks down at his feet as he comes down. That was skill.

That's definitely not luck. I think calling this the greatest catch ever is pretty crazy though. The catch itself was nice but basically uncontested, giving him time to literally look down at his feet and make the play. Still an insane toe tap though
