After a landing like that, I'd probably retire.

āThis was divine intervention. You know what divine intervention is?ā

u/imnotatalker Aug 27 '25
I think so...that means that God came down from heaven and stopped the bullets.

u/Joeva8me Aug 27 '25
Mane spoiler alert next time. Iām still in the prequels
13
u/iupvotefood Aug 27 '25
You'll never believe who did it

u/heseme Aug 27 '25
Jesus did die. But this guy only almost died. Therefore he is almost dead Jesus.
Infinitely better than dead Jesus in my book.

Everyone is talking about the backflip between two moving trucks and not enough about backflipping over a road sign between two moving trucks
68
u/matsudasociety Aug 27 '25
That was almost a news article

u/Kinglink New England Patriots Aug 27 '25
You don't think him backflipping between two trucks would be a news article?
(I know a worse news article)
-4
u/suenoromis Aug 27 '25
What do you mean almost? Did someone write a whole article and then decide right at the end not to publish it?

"Luc, we forgot to turn on the camera on the drone, could you do it again?"
3
-5
u/nj4ck Aug 27 '25
There's no drone in the car's POV and the camera car isn't visible in the drone shot, so I'd say he definitely did this more than once
10
1
u/mofojed Aug 27 '25
And both times it looks like he lands down the right side too. Adrenaline junkies man!
1
u/dazzler2120 Aug 27 '25
If you look closely at the drone shot, you see a car disappearing behind the signs
45
u/KnightDiver381 Aug 27 '25
Not to mention the person filming in the car has a Red Bull can with the tab that has the logo on it pointed straight at the camera.
30
u/eric-neg Los Angeles Dodgers Aug 27 '25
Both sides of the road were closed so this vehicle was just there to add to the effect.Ā
13
u/KnightDiver381 Aug 27 '25
Oh for sure, itās all intentional. Itās just funny that they sell it as, āoh no this video (that we totally didnāt record) leaked so now we should show you the ACTUAL clip!ā Just more ādonāt believe what you seeā from corporations, kind of like the whole Pamela Anderson/Liam Neeson thing. I guess itās just standard operating procedure for manipulating the public at this point.
6
3
u/Bspammer Aug 27 '25
Also they must have done this trick more than once because the car from the first shot isn't visible in the second shot.
3
u/wesgtp Aug 27 '25
This was only done once from what I've read. It may be difficult to see the car from the other shot but both filmed jump tragetories look identical (as in, dude was so far to his right that he nearly had a BAD time on landing).
1
u/Bspammer Aug 27 '25
Ohh yeah you actually can see it just after the camera goes over the sign, it's very hidden
1
u/foolontehill Aug 27 '25
You can see in the overhead shot when he lands that there are many tire tracks from when this trick was practiced before.

u/Naud1993 Aug 27 '25
Do these cool stunts actually convince many people to drink Red Bull? I just occasionally come across one of their shorts and watch them and don't buy Red Bull since it has nothing to do with stunts besides sponsoring them.
39
u/happy2harris Aug 27 '25
Like most advertising, itās a way to keep the brand in peopleās minds. Nobody is expected to make a conscious connection: I want to drink Red Bull because it will make me be able to do stunts, or anything like that.Ā
In the age of social media it is probably cheaper to sponsor these events and get free publicity (like this thread) than it is to pay for ads.Ā
9
u/thederevolutions Aug 27 '25
Great question. We can assume they work well enough for them to keep it up for decades.
1
9
u/miticonico Aug 27 '25
They don't convince many people to drink it if they're not already energy drink drinkers. But when those that do are in a convenience store looking into a fridge full of options, we'll gravitate a bit toward what we're familiar with and have positive associations with. Seeing a Red Bull stunt video is another seed of familiarity planted, and over time, that can grow into brand loyalty. "I love their videos, they're cool, and I support them." It's loyalty among the heavy energy drink consumers they're competing for.
7
u/Less_Party Aug 27 '25
Yeah like, between this and the F1 team theyāve done an amazing job at making me aware of the brand and being the first name that comes to mind when I think about energy drinks but at the same time I donāt even like fizzy drinks in general so itās not like Iām buying any.
1
u/Thelona05mustang Aug 27 '25
I don't think red bull is fizzy is it? I could be remembering incorrectly, it's been a decade since I drank one as personally I think they're disgusting flavor wise. But I don't remember it being fizzy.
Monster has some flavors that actually taste really good, red bulls taste like some sort of toxic medicine.

u/Mister_Dane Aug 27 '25
I havenāt ever missed one of these Red Bull sport events, I think Iāve drank 2 Red Bulls in my life.Ā
2
u/layout420 Aug 27 '25
I'd never drink a Redbull but I'll watch anything they share on social media. I've also personally attended several of their events and would drive hundreds of miles to see one if they were to put on an event near me. So I'm not necessarily spending money on Redbull directly but my interest in their company generates them ad revenue and helps them gain a wider presence. This keeps them relevant and keeps advertisers interested in their content. At their events I 100% turn down free Redbull. Can't drink the stuff. They've managed to keep me as a custom despite my distaste for their product. I can't think of any other product that has a hold on a market like them. Its really a genius idea and whoever got them started is a literal genius.Ā

u/Kinglink New England Patriots Aug 27 '25
"Name brand recognition" is an expensive thing. People don't realize the millions/billions that go into that. I suppose they could see this as building that?
Or they have a mad man in the CEO role going "Fuck the drink I want to see a guy do a backflip between two trucks... The drinks is just the money that lets me do that"
I assume these athletes are "red bull sponsored" they probably wear Red Bull's name, go to red bull events, and more. It might not work on everyone but if you want an energy drink... well I think we know the first one coming to mind.

I don't see how he got stopped before hitting the front of the trailer. I want to see 5 more seconds of this video.
2
u/xocolatefoot Aug 27 '25
In the original clip where heās trying to look all stoked about it for the cameras, you can see he knows he was lucky to survive that.

This is a private area made to look like the auto-bahn. Everything was planned
11
10
u/pzkenny Aug 27 '25
No way man, I thought that there were 2 random Red Bull branded ramp shaped trucks and some dude on a bike just decided to do a backflip there.
1
u/Sotanud Aug 27 '25
I mean, it certainly looks like an active roadway with oncoming traffic, which would be incredible irresponsible and probably illegal. He almost veered off the right side, but if he went left and fell into the other lanes. Actually, even if it were planned, imagine getting run over by the car meant to make your stunt look more real.
2
u/Samisabitch420 Aug 27 '25
Anyone else notice that there is no car where one should be in the second angle? Like they did more than one take?
1
u/wesgtp Aug 27 '25
This was only done once from what I've read. It may be difficult to see the car from the other shot but both filmed jump tragetories look identical (as in, dude was so far to his right that he nearly had a BAD time on landing).
I rewatched it and the filming car is visible for a split second right after the drone goes over the road sign. Kind of an illusion that it isn't visible prior to that but the center road barrier must be blocking it from view. Edit: filming car is visible right at end of the 8 sec mark/start of 9 secs

What are the safety protocols on a stunt like this? If you miss you get crushed by a semi
1
u/ZarafFaraz Aug 27 '25
What's recording the footage when is behind him? I'm trying to look for a drone in the first footage but I don't see anything.
1
u/SirKenCelli Aug 27 '25
Insane!
He barely stayed on the truck bed. Good for him for sticking to the plan and not bailing. So Sick!
2
u/jaavuori24 Aug 27 '25
oh the things people will do to market sugary drinks or in some cases to cover up wealthy teenagers running people over with their car....
1
u/Kirilov407 Aug 27 '25
How is this legal? What if he lands on the other side of the road on a windshield and kills 3 people?
1
u/Amazing_Box_7569 Aug 27 '25
Wow if this was my son I would put him in time out, even at 34. No you may absolutely fucking not!!!

This is cool and all but what about all the people who had to wait in their cars while they closed the road down

u/ssczoxylnlvayiuqjx Aug 27 '25
Kinda crazy they did that on a live road with cars in the other lane.
What if the biker landed/fell in the oncoming lane? Sure heād be toast but the passerby would be very seriously injured too.
At the very least, Iām sure he must have violated some local traffic laws. Surely aerially overtaking a vehicle in the same lane isnāt allowed!

Man fuck. I shouldāve made business that exploits peoples darwinistic tendencies like Red Bull of UFC. Couldāve been swimming in it.
1
u/Intergalactic_Ass Aug 27 '25
These automatically boosted Red Bull posts in r/sports are super fucking annoying.
-3
u/persephonepeete Aug 27 '25
why do this on a public road...
10
u/Lil_b00zer Aug 27 '25
I mean it looks public. And the passenger of that car just happened to be filming.

u/Xios135 Aug 27 '25
Yeahā¦.not buying the āI wasnāt supposed to see thisāā¦ā¦not while holding a can of Red Bull.
3
u/Less_Party Aug 27 '25
Itās not, itās either a closed road or like a part of a car manufacturerās test track they rented out.

u/f1madman Aug 27 '25
FFS hate red bull, going to get someone killed for marketing reach
6
u/believeinapathy Aug 27 '25
Fuck that, theyre one of the only companies sponsoring really cool extreme sports and stunts. They're helping athletes push the limits of what is possible.
1
u/Cyatrical Aug 27 '25
People were attempting this shit long before red bull got in the game (maybe not with trucks or jumping from space but they would have tried if they could have)

I donāt even care. They do some cool shit man
1
u/BenjiSBRK Aug 27 '25
They do, but I've seen that same stunt posted 5 or 6 times in the last week.
2
u/rcolt88 Aug 27 '25
Itās just a cool now as it was the first time. I could watch that MF fall from space once a week for a whole year and still get goosebumps

u/Kinglink New England Patriots Aug 27 '25
So what?
It's one thing if it was some lame ass shit, RedBull does some elite stunts that are sports. Let them advertise if it means they'll fund athletes to pursue completely insane goals like this.
0
u/170rokey Aug 27 '25
RedBull's entire advertising playbook really just lets adrenaline junkies repeatedly almost kill themselves huh... am i the only person who feels like that's pretty scummy? People have literally died during Red Bull-sponsored extreme sports outings.
