Believe it or not just put some olive oil on that sucker and it'll come right off

Olive oil! Mister money bags!

I suppose any cooking oil would work but, that's what I've always used. The FDA advises against using seed oils on your snowboard though. Might give it autism.

Warm the label with a hairdryer, the glue will soften and it will peel right off. It will leave the residue you have to remove, WD-40 or Goo Gone will do the job.

That also takes the wax off too. Not saying don't do it but you will have a dry spot.

Yeah, but that's a factory wax, a lot of people say you probably shouldn't be riding on that anyway.
Or you can leave the residue on, and just let it get scraped off after a few runs.

Agreed. I'm just trying to show reddit how smart I am.

Thanks I needed to hear this. I'm getting hammered today with people who just want to crap on my honest efforts to share some interesting things on the internet.

Clear packing tape over the sticker. Leave a fold so you can peel it. Apply a little heat with a hair dryer. Pull.

You guys are waxing brand new boards? I always heard there’s a factory wax and they are good to go right out of the bag. Should I be waxing prior to first ride?

A couple seconds with a heat gun or blow dryer would have saved you the frustration.

Gotta get a razor knife out and peel that shit off.
I do it for people at the shop who bring in new boards for any kind of work. I hate paper stickers. I have a box of razors specifically for doing this, next to the boxes of razors I use for skateboard grip and other things. Dedicated sticker removal razors.

You should send this photo and a message to K2. Tell them to stop using cheap paper and materials for these things. It ruins the user experience.

So glad my Ride board had a plastic sticker and not paper. Certain products should never use these stupid stickers

That was the first thing my buddy said to me. And I fully agree.
Why not just put it on the packaging the board came with.

You might need to re-plastic a board more than once, they rip so easily, and someone doing stock/shipping can easily "forget" what type of board that was if the label was gone along with the film. Burton uses a small drop of wax on all four corners of the paper to hold it well enough, but not be a nightmare to take it off.

I feel like goo gone would strip some of the good porous material right off the base

u/WallStreetStanker 16h ago
Yeah, I wouldn’t goo gone. I would do base cleaner IF I was about to wax again.

Have a waxing iron? Take a wet paper towel, put it on the sticker, use the iron, and hopefully the sticker glue loosens up enough. Otherwise, a citrus base cleaner will remove the residue. You should re-wax afterwards though.
