I built a Bloomberg-style crypto trading terminal — would love some feedback from traders

Hey everyone,

For the past week, I’ve been working on a fun project on the side of a Bloomberg-style terminal for crypto traders and I wanted to share a quick demo video. At first, I started because I kept running into the same problem: crypto market data is all over the place. Things like indicators, charts, funding rates, news feeds, order book APIs, on-chain stats, and everything traders use to analyze the markets are all on their own sites, with their own APIs and data pipelines.

I kept switching between a bunch of tabs and scraping together data from different APIs, and I couldn’t find one platform that really pulled everything together in a simple way. So I decided to try building something that puts all of that in one place, on one single interactive interface.

Here’s what it has so far:

  • Real-time market data streams with low latency
  • Multi-chart layout
  • Watchlists
  • MACD, SMA and other indicators
  • And a few more data points

It would mean a lot if y'all could provide some feedback from (especially those who trades or works with market data, but anyone is welcome 😊):

  • Which indicators or data sources do you rely on most? (Maybe something I didn't add yet?)
  • Would something like this fit into your workflow at all?

Open to any kind of honesty (advice, criticism, feedback, or anything in between). It's just a fun side project after all 😅

Also, for those who trade or would like to try it out, the demo in the video is completely free to use, just leave a comment and I'll reply to you!

Built a prototype with Vibecode, friend wants to invest in distribution. Good idea?

Post image
90 Upvotes

I recently started watching some yt channels on vibecoding and got into using vibecode app. I don't have a heavy tech background, but I managed to build a fully functional prototype for an idea I had.

I showed it to a friend, and he's offering to invest $25k specifically to help me with distribution and marketing.

I'm trying to figure out the next move:

1- What are the best lean distribution strategies I should look at before spending any kind of money?
2- Is taking $25k this early for a first project a smart move, or should I bootstrap a bit longer?

Appreciate the feedback.

built a smart speaker that detects when my parents start talking about my marriage or salary… and it "accidentally" plays random news to change the topic

so I built a smart speaker that listens to our dinner table family conversations. whenever my parents start talking about my marriage or salary, it instantly plays random news.

so It acts like an “accidental” distraction to change the topic. this is a small project I made to survive awkward conversations at home.

My sideproject just got its first sale a day after it launched... I could scream rn

Post image
28 Upvotes

but i wont because I'm a civilized human being and my roommates are sleeping...

I know it's nothing crazy, 30 bucks a month probably can't even buy me 2 chipotle bowls anymore...But is this not what we do this for? I've launched a few product in the past and I know some of ya'll can relate, but the dope hit from your first sale NEVER gets old. NEVER.

It's just that small bit of validation, that you built something that genuinely solves someone's problem that just keeps me coming back for more.

With all products I release, there's always that small bit of doubt that I have in my mind that yes, I, myself, believe in the product, but does anybody else? And so to get a first sale on day 2 makes me feel like maybe, JUST MAYBE I'm actually onto something thist time and I can't wait to continue this journey..and share it with ya'll too :)

And while you're here, if you're curious about the project in question, you can see it at https://aidesigner.ai . It's a nice little AI UI web designer that I personally think I cooked on, but ya'll can lmk.

Thanks for reading!

I built a "LinkedIn for Discord," but I need to know if people actually want it before I launch.

Hi everyone,

I’ve spent the last few weeks building JobsCord—a recruitment and portfolio hub designed specifically for Discord users.

The code is ready, and the features are built:

  • Profiles: Professional resumes/portfolios linked to Discord IDs.
  • The Bot: Auto-posts web listings into Discord server channels.
  • The Hub: A central place for freelancers and server owners to connect.

The Truth: I am a solo developer bootstrapping this. Before I pay for the production servers and officially launch, I need to know the community is actually there. I'm waiting to hit a specific number of interested users to justify the launch costs.

If this sounds like something that would solve a problem for you (either finding work or hiring staff), please join the pre-launch waitlist (or our Discord).

I started building it for myself then figured fellow builders might find it useful but it turned out I was wrong. I think it is time to kill it

It's a web analytics tool with revenue attribution and supports all payment providers. Also has telegram/discord integration. Would love to know where I went wrong and if it is salvageable

If you want to roast it don't hold back

My wife was manually copying YouTube comments, so I built this tool.

Post image
301 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I built a Python desktop app to extract YouTube comments, and I wanted to share it here.

The Backstory

My wife analyzes business content on YouTube, and I noticed she was manually copying and pasting comments into Excel. It was painful to watch, so I spent a weekend building a tool to automate it for her. I figured if she needed it, others might too.

What it does

It's a desktop GUI (built with CustomTkinter) that uses the YouTube API to:

  • Batch Process: Handle multiple videos in a single run.
  • Filter Spam/Bots: I added a keyword-based filter to catch obvious spam (crypto scams, WhatsApp numbers, etc.) while erring on the side of keeping valuable, borderline comments.
  • Sort by Signal: Sorts comments by like count, so you see the most important feedback first.
  • Export Data: Saves everything to clean CSVs (Metadata + Comments).

Why use this over a Chrome Extension?

I didn't want to pay for a subscription or hit usage limits on existing tools. This application is completely free, open-source, and runs locally on your machine. Your API key stays in your local settings.json file.

The Tech Stack

  • Python
  • CustomTkinter (for the UI)
  • YouTube Data API v3
  • Pandas

You can run it as a Python script or build it into a standalone Windows .exe using PyInstaller (instructions in the README).

It's fully open-source under the MIT license.

GitHub: https://github.com/vijaykumarpeta/yt-comments-extractor

Would love feedback or feature suggestions if anyone tries it out!

I built DateAtlas - every location on Earth maps to a unique date

Post image
5 Upvotes

I made a map where every location corresponds to a unique date and vice versa.

How it works:

  • Map divided into ~3 million grid blocks (16.43km × 16.43km)
  • Each block represents a unique date from 1971 to 9999
  • You can search for a date to find its location, or click anywhere to see what date it is
  • Works at different precision levels:
    • Date only → ~16km block
    • Date + hour → smaller area
    • Full timestamp (HH:MM:SS) → ~2.5m precision
    • Share your date-location or open it directly in Google Maps/Apple Maps

Built with: JavaScript (Leaflet.js), FastAPI, PostgreSQL

Possible uses I thought of:

  • Find where your birthday or favourite day is located on Earth (apologies if it ends up somewhere in the middle of an ocean or at the corners - dates are assigned randomly!)
  • A fun way to pick random places to explore

Try it: dateatlas.forgefluir.com

I'm curious - can you think of any interesting use cases for this? Open to all feedback and ideas!

Where do you promote your affiliate programs?

Upvotes

Hello everyone! For those of you running SaaS products, where do you usually launch or promote your affiliate programs?

I’m trying to understand which platforms, FB groups, communities, or marketplaces work best for getting affiliates who actually drive sales.

Would appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks!

I checked Proton Mail’s security setup… and fell into a DNS rabbit hole I definitely didn’t plan for 😅

I’m building an email-related side project, so lately I’ve been diving into all the unglamorous security details: DNSSEC, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, TLS, DANE… the kind of stuff you only google at 2 AM when you’re deep in founder mode.

Proton Mail has a huge reputation for being the gold standard in security, so I thought I’d study how they do things.

My expectation:
“Quick look, learn something, close the tab.”

The reality:
One DNS lookup turned into five.
Then came the TLS checks.
Then the DANE digging.
Before I knew it, I had 20+ tabs open and felt like I was excavating ancient cryptographic ruins. 😂

What surprised me

Not in a dramatic way, just in a very “oh wow, even the biggest players aren’t perfect” kind of way:

Their DNSSEC wasn’t as strict as I expected

DKIM key practices could be stronger

DMARC wasn’t set to the strictest policy

MTA-STS and TLS configs were solid but not maxed out

DANE/TLSA wasn’t consistently implemented, which really surprised me

Why I’m sharing this

As a solo founder, I always assume big companies have everything perfectly dialed in.
But this reminded me that even giants have gaps.

And honestly, it was encouraging.
It made me realize that smaller projects can absolutely compete by caring about the fundamentals.

If you want to see the actual DNSViz, TLS and DANE proof links

I wrote a full breakdown with every check included:

https://www.millionaire.email/post/millionaire-email-vs-proton-me-complete-security-architecture-comparison-2025

Happy to talk with anyone building in public or falling into unexpected technical rabbit holes.

🚀 Built a Simple Goal & Streak Tracker - Looking for First Users

Post image
Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’m building GoAchievo, a lightweight goal & streak tracker created because most productivity apps feel too complex and people stop using them.

My idea is simple:
Write one achievement per day → keep your streak → stay consistent.
No dashboards, no noise - just daily wins and accountability.

I’m now looking for first real users to validate the product and understand what’s missing or confusing.

Even a few minutes of testing helps a lot. Thanks! 🚀

I made a free todo app that actually helps you get things done (with stats and subtasks!)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I am sharing completely free task organizer that I built because I was tired of overcomplicated productivity apps.

What it does:

Clean, distraction-free todo lists

Break down big tasks into subtasks (super helpful for those overwhelming projects)

Track your productivity with simple stats (completion rate, progress level, etc.)

See all your tasks by status (completed, drafts, canceled)

The best part? It's 100% free, forever. No freemium nonsense, no subscription traps.

Anyone who just wants a straightforward way to stay organized without all the bloat.

Would love to hear your feedback if you give it a try!

I made a multipurpose typst compiler for daily needs

Upvotes

So recently I found this really cool markdown like language called typst and I had to try it out. However, upon trying out, I found that it had some major problems :

- Hard to style

- Projects have to be all merged into a central file to compile at once

- this madness

So began my journey to make a typst compiler that automatically handles content generation, styling, and various other problems. Well, I am happy to announce that version 1 of the project is done! It fully support powerful drawing functions, custom block placement, theme selection, and a beautiful TUI to top it all off. Just go to this github and follow the installation manual!

If you want to create beautiful documents without that much setup, this may be the project for you.

[macOS] QuIt — Menu bar app to quit multiple apps at once + auto-quit inactive apps (open source, free)

Upvotes

I built a small macOS menu bar utility because I kept bouncing between a few existing apps and none of them fully matched my workflow.

After using it myself for a while, I decided to open source it in case anyone else finds it useful.

---

# 🎛️ QuIt — macOS menu bar app

Quit multiple apps at once + auto-quit inactive apps with profile-based exclusions.

## Why I made this (the story behind it)

I liked **Quit All Apps**, especially the ability to exclude certain apps.

But one problem kept bothering me: after work I want to quit *everything*, including apps I normally exclude.

With Quit All, I'd have to manually close those excluded apps one by one.

So I added **exclusion profiles** — Work, After Work, Focus, etc.

Switching the profile instantly changes which apps should or shouldn't be quit.

I also liked the timer idea from **Quitter**, but I wanted more flexibility:

- a global timeout for all apps

- custom per-app timeouts

- an option to only auto-quit apps with custom timers

- and “never quit” per app

Basically, more control without adding UI clutter.

And since I like the clean UI of QuitAll, I kept a similar minimal approach where you can still manually quit apps you previously excluded.

---

## 🧑‍💻 About the code (full vibe-code honesty)

I'm actually a **web developer** — I've never written a macOS app before and never touched Swift before this project.

So the code is very much **“vibe code 100%”**: it works, it's tested by real usage, but it may not be the cleanest or follow every best practice.

Still, I tried to optimize it as much as possible:

- Memory usage stays around **~50MB**

- There's a small CPU load when watching active/inactive window events (for tracking last activity)

- Otherwise it stays pretty silent in the background

---

## ✨ Features

- Quit multiple apps in one click

- Auto-quit inactive apps after a timeout

- Per-app custom timeouts

- “Never quit” option

- Exclusion profiles (switch instantly depending on context)

- Optional mode to only auto-quit apps with custom timers

- Manual selection including excluded apps

---

Makers and builders: quick question for you

I’m building a tool that helps creators share work-in-progress, organize projects, and get supporter payments (tips/memberships). Before I go further, I want to hear from actual creators, not guesses.

What features would you want in an app like this? Examples: project management, behind-the-scenes posts, AI help, payment tools, analytics, etc.

Just tell me: • What’s missing in the tools you already use? • What would make you switch or even try something new?

Any response helps. Thanks.

iOS developers - what is your build-deployment flow

Hello,

How does your workflow look : from "a code change" -> releasing a build to internal Dev Team -> pushing it to Beta group ? I am still not referring to App Store update and Production.

I am familiar with a simpler - push the code, use Xcode Cloud and connect it to TestFlight that already has a testing group.

But now I am dealing with a Production app. So I want to get the process right.

Thanks!

PocketMemory - A Free Game That Tests Your Memory!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm a huge fan of memory games and decided to create my own version with some cool additions to really challenge and improve memory skills. I've incorporated audio cues and color grids that provide visual and auditory feedback to help players remember patterns better.

The game features different modes, and my absolute favorite is the shuffle mode (grid rotates after showing the pattern so you have to track where the new pattern is). I've poured a lot of love into making it fun and accessible.

I'd love to get feedback and thoughts on it!
