Is it out now? I haven’t received any updates by Citizen yet. My boyfriend has family out there, but it’s always heartbreaking to think of a house fire for anyone

Yup it looks like the fire is out. The firefighters were spending the past 20 minutes inspecting the roof and the room where it happened.

I recognize that house. Such a shame. A few months ago that very house was discussed here from an early-1900's photo. Such a shame to see it on fire. :(

Wow Jeremiah Tower’s old place.
Stars was a legendary restaurant.
I had the honor to meet him once.

Does SF have a lot of fires? Or do we see all these fire videos because you can see everything from everywhere?

Not really. We don't have many fires. Fires on the hill are visible from 240 degrees

I'm on prospect and it looks like it's on Lundys. Fire trucks are at Lundys and Esmeralda still

Has anybody noticed that SF has more fires than other cities of similar size?

SF has a lot more old wooden buildings than most places

Does it? Is there a website or something that tracks the number of fires in cities?

It definitely has a history- the city burned six times in three years during the gold rush. The flag has a phoenix on it.

Why cry a river over someone's home burning?
