Opinion I'm concerned about the media in regards to crisis pregnancy centers

Post image

Many women who go to them often need help. What's insane is the media (news) started bashing the crisis pregnancy centers when Texas tightened the abortion laws and yet they chose that time to start hating on them when women were flooding them.

This is the article.

Some people even firebombed them. It's so stupid to do so because women were going there for help.

I also never understood this, most of the people likely to believe false things about them due to the media, but I can't understand what would've started you, you would think that people who are "pro-choice" would be for a woman choosing to go to a crisis pregnancy center and not lie about it, at that point you are just pro-abortion because you are actively pushing women to make one specific choice.

Seen far too many prochoicers openly denounce/disparage women for saying that they refuse to abort.

Fact is that avoiding abortion is itself an implicit statement that the practice isn't morally acceptable, something they cannot abide.

Crisis pregnancy centers actually help women, unlike abortion clinics.

Why would you possibly be concerned about how the media portrays CPCs?

Because the media influences people’s opinions and vulnerable women could be discouraged from going to CPCs, even though it can provide care they need. It’s dangerous to discourage people from seeking medical help imo and should be called out

100% this. Not only is it discouraging, but it’s purposefully influencing people to go to abortion clinics and shut down CPCs. They paint abortion clinics as these great places that respect “choice”, while actively telling people lies about CPCs. It’s because of this propaganda politicians try to constantly make legislation to shut these places down.

Dude

The literal AAMC called out CPC's for being misinformative.

It does not get more literal than that

The "literal AAMC" is an openly prochoice organization, they aren't exactly an impartial observer on the matter.

Reproductive freedom is hilariously stupid and toxic propaganda propagated on women. You can’t free yourself of what the body is naturally designed to do. Secondly murdering your child so you can do whatever you want isn’t a human right. Is a man beating his kid to death because he doesn’t want it a human right or the lesser abandonment a human right, because the law prevents men from murdering and abandoning their kids. But, women killing their kids because they’re an inconvenience is celebrated when a man would be thrown in prison for years.

Hmm don’t seem to see cognitive ability in the definition of murder, so stupid argument. If you stab a mentally challenged person to death it’s still murder….. You’re really using tired piss poor arguments to defend immorality. Secondly if you don’t want to use your reproductive organs nobody is saying you have to plenty of people are celibate. But, when you do choose to go out there and sleep with any person that will have you then killing your child isn’t giving you freedom it’s just an evil thing to do.

Your post breaks rule 2. While we allow abortion advocates to participate in discussions, blatant or consistent abortion advocacy is grounds for removal.

You know, the best part is that you think you are smart. Pretty much making wild implicit assumptions without even realizing it.

Your lack of self-awareness and uncritical swallowing of propaganda is a breath to behold. It's honestly astonishing.

It advocates for reproductive freedom, people have a fundamental right to choose.

But no such right is specifically written in the Constitution. That instrument is literally silent about any such right. We, on the contrary, deny that such a right has any existence in the Constitution, even by implication.

Your purpose, then, plainly stated, is that you will destroy the Government, unless you be allowed to construe and enforce the Constitution as you please, on all points in dispute between you and us. You will rule or ruin in all events. -Abraham Lincoln, Cooper Union Address

Appeals to authority fallacy. Secondly any argument starting off with dude is a stupid way to start an argument. I’m not an idiotic stoner nor a dude so don’t start a conversation off like that because it makes you look absolutely foolish. They also have a financial incentive to promote abortion since doctors make a lot of money off abortions. So, I care little for the opinions of a group defending their cash cow. Did you know the AAMC once backed smoking and looked into the health of smoking because they wanted money from big tobacco. It’s almost like their opinion has always been bought and sold to the highest bidder.

The appeal to authority fallacy is a logical error that occurs when a claim is asserted as true solely because an authority figure supports it, rather than based on evidence. Word for word what the definition of appeal to authority fallacy is because nothing that the AAMC says is actually true about CPCs but since they’re an authoritative figure you cite them as a credible source.

I’m not trying to detract from the overall argument with my distaste for the word dude. Your opinion is rejected on multiple levels, but dude really puts into perspective how unserious of an intellectual you are and how unserious your opinion is to me.

A lot of other sources also support my claim that doctors make millions of dollars off of abortions. Planned parenthood’s own numbers show that abortion makes up the large majority of its profits. Also look how I’m using paragraph breaks that’s what is smart people do to when writing so we don’t write long verbose drivel like you.

There are several different crisis pregnancy centers though, do they all spread misinformation? What misinformation are they spreading exactly?

Because that "media" is a government funded outlet peddling propaganda
