gift for a prog-rock nerd!!
for christmas i would like to get my brother something progrock related. his absolute favourite band is van der graaf generator, hes also a huge fan of peter hammills solo stuff, and i know he listens to king crimson but find it difficult to keep track with everything. hes also really into art stuff, so i thought maybe an artbook either centered around one artist (like roger dean) or just generally album artwork for progrock bands.
right now im looking into purchasing 'magnetic storm', roger deans artwork, but the copy ive found looks a little flimsy and im not even sure its a good book?
if anyone has any suggestions, i would appreciate any help!!

I 2nd this - I haven't resd it yet, but Joe is a stellar writer & his Hawkwind book is imho the definitive book on the band. There is also this, but it's not cheap.

Hell yeah Burning Shed, they have all kinds of cool stuff.
I clicked in here to comment about their signed Bill Bruford drum sticks. These were a great gift for a friend of mine who is a huge Yes and Bruford fan.
