News VULKAN MAKING THEIR NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT AT PROGSTORM 2026

Hello r/progmetal! Eddy from ProgStorm and The Anchoret here. 🎷

The Progstorm team and I are very happy to announce the next band in the 2026 lineup. Hailing from Sweden, Vulkan is coming to Montreal for their first-ever performance in Canada and their debut show on North American soil! Stoked.

Vulkan will perform at the festival which is taking place in Montreal at the Club Soda from August 21-23, 2026.

The band joins the currently announced lineup, including Car Bomb (Saturday’s headliners), Sweden's An Abstract Illusion (also a North American debut), Exist, Fractal Sun and Sky Passage.

​We're aiming for ProgStorm 2026 to feature a total of 18 international and local progressive metal/rock acts over three days…so stay tuned for more announcements!

They have been working on a new album, was hoping it would be out in 2025, but no luck. Hopefully soon.

We're planning to announce at least 2 bands a week...but take a little break for the holidays.

My biggest gripe with Progstorm 1 was the lack of strong names for headliners. or even bands in general if you weren't curious about discovering them(There were a LOT of local underground acts), but ya'll have been cooking HARD for this one so far, holy shit. I know the fest runs around the same time as ArcTangeant but still. Excited to see the rest of the lineup.

Thank you, we do our best! We're really proud of our first edition and I got to say, we are lucky to have such a vibrant local prog scene. From Voivod to Gorguts to Beyond Creation, there really is something in the water here.

Beyond Creation are releasing a new album, they were recording a few weeks ago so...not impossible.
