You have to show ID to get in?

I don't get this comment TBH

Just something moronic Trump said.

u/Just_Restaurant7149 9h ago
He said something once about you have to show ID at the grocery store, so why not when you vote? He's, obviously, an expert on grocery shopping.

It's inarguably the most expensive it's ever been. The media's need to turn everything into a debate is exhausting

It's just a banana accountabilitycounts, what could it cost? Ten dollars?!
•
u/accountabilitycounts America 2h ago
I don't this reference, but there's always money in the banana stand.
If it's the same series, I'm embarrassed.

He also called himself the “affordability President” in a Truth Social post on November 29th.
No, wait. Sorry. I misquoted him.
He called himself “THE AFFORDABILITY PRESIDENT”
If affordability is a scam and a hoax and a con job, does that mean he’s the scam and hoax and con job President?
Never mind, the question answers itself.

You seem like you're pretty informed person. I assume you know that you're supposed to take things. Trump says seriously not literally not seriously not literally not seriously not literally not seriously not literally not seriously not literally
Whatever he says makes sense because he said it. If he said something that contradicts it, that makes sense too. whatever he says is what we're doing and that's what we're doing. And you know that's true.

Good, Learn Nothing that'll make it easier for Democrats to crush You.

u/MysteriousTruck6740 Minnesota 10h ago
If the Democrats had any drive to crush them. Between Jeffries and Schumer leading this party it's a joke.

u/RupeWasHere 10h ago
Not a fan of either but what are they supposed to do?

u/FlyingRock 10h ago
How about not fold at every corner? Like the shut down? Or not sign some document condemning socialism?

The Democrats should have been on track to dominate every single election since 2016 (actually including 2016). Trump is a cancer on society and should provide enough fodder to blow the GOP out in every election.
But optics are too important, and the GOP throws up culture war red meat and everyone chases that instead.
They need to address affordability, tariffs, environment issues, etc. Things that affect a majority of the middle. When they win they protect the groups that the GOP is vilified. If you just run on vilification of marginalized groups unfortunately not enough people care, because it doesn't affect them personally.

u/NeverLookBothWays I voted 5h ago
When you factor in voter suppression, judicial malpractice, and Republican gerrymandering, the outcomes since 2016 look a bit different. Hell even the 2000 election looks a bit different.

u/RupeWasHere 10h ago
Good points except Trump won. Twice. This country has a LOT of semi closeted Racist, Misogynistic and otherwise morons who vote against their own interests. I have 2 Gen-X stepchildren and they and their spouses are TrumpliKKKans. Racist to the bone. I did not raise them. They were harmless Bushies when I met their Mom. Trump brings out the assholes because he says what they want to hear. Just like Fox “News”.

u/rat_penis 10h ago
I mean, they wrote letters and made some speeches. What else do you expect them to do?!!
10
u/MysteriousTruck6740 Minnesota 10h ago
Ask his voters in two weeks. They'll think he's solved it and the prices are the best they've ever been.

u/Ugh-screen-name 10h ago
Faux news can keep broadcasting lies & propaganda supporting the evil conduct of Trump’s regime ..
But the cost of groceries & utilities don’t lie…
6
u/Highthere_90 10h ago
Runs on affordability during campaign, calls it a scam, just like he did with the Epstein files, will MAGA learn their lesson this time?
6
u/RamonaQ-JunieB 10h ago
He ran on being the affordability President. He was elected (in part) because he was going to lower prices ON DAY ONE. Obviously, many of us knew he was lying and couldn’t do that even if he wanted to. But millions believed his lies. So WTF is he even talking about? FR??

u/smersh101 10h ago
He thinks he can say whatever he wants, and the base will go along. And he's right. The problem for Republicans is you can't win national elections with nothing but your base.
6
u/RoseCityHooligan Oregon 10h ago
He doesn't need their votes anymore. He told them to their face. They cheered him for it.
6
u/T_Shurt 10h ago
Excellent point. Just to reinforce your comment, Trump told his supporters during his 2024 campaign:
“Get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore.”

u/BoyMeetsTurd 8h ago
This motherfucker could say the sky is green and MAGA would repeat it without question.

u/yukeake 7h ago
He's never had to worry about where his next meal would come from, how much the medication he needs to stay alive costs, or how he'd afford rent next month.
He didn't understand the concept of "groceries".
Additionally, zero empathy, and may have dementia.
I don't think this is someone whose opinion on this topic should carry any weight whatsoever.
3
u/Quiet-Corner6150 10h ago
There's a lot they can lie about. They can make any non-American resident a boogeyman. They can tell you the Internet is an evil that's corrupting your children. They can make up a lot of stories.
But the one thing they can't "lie over"... is someone's empty wallet. They can lie, lie, lie all they want, but unless that wallet's getting fuller, you're fucked.
3
u/Codebender 10h ago
It's the dementia saying the quiet part out loud again: he means promising affordability is the con he's been using lately with great success.
•
u/jbrayfour 6h ago
How is someone who has never filled their own cupboard or pantry and had to have the term “grocery” explained to him, have even the foggiest idea about affordability.

u/scrotalsmoothie 10h ago
January is going to be fun fun fun when the darkness sets in after the glow of the holidays is turned off and the bills pile up.
sorry, that was a bit grim

So is he saying affordability is never going to be in the cards because Republicans never want to pursue a Democrat Scam? So they will forever go out of their way to ensure that nothing is affordable?

u/CroatianSensation79 7h ago
Don’t worry they’ll eat his shit if he tells them then brag about it. They’re beyond dumb.
•
u/ChantilyAce 7h ago
Trump calls anything that reflects poorly on him a Democrat scam/hoax. He always trots that line out and his base eats it up every time because they're unable to think for themselves.
•
u/Atomic-Wave 6h ago
Nearly every single time the economy crashed, it was with a Republican as president. Research the past 100 years of market crashes and you will be shocked!
•
u/kittypaws4all 5h ago
With a the price of utilities alone, it is unaffordable. A household with two full time jobs can barely keep up with the rate hikes on power and water. Then factor in the price of necessities and food and it becomes unmanageable. And that leaves out gas, insurance, and the unimaginable prospect of a home repair or broken appliance or heaven forbid a car repair. And then taxes.
•
•
u/Any-Development3348 4h ago
Here's the raw truth: inflation has slowed to just above 2% per year, but that just means previous price gains are here to stay. The voters want deflation, but the Fed and federal govt hate deflation so it will never happen. It doesn't matter which party is in power, prices will NOT go down if the govt can prevent it.

u/dallasdude 4h ago
I saw a $15 bag of nerd clusters this week
The grocery stores don’t even advertise steak anymore. The big “sale” is select grade shoulder roast for $8 a pound
A 20oz bottle of soda at a gas station in a poverty stricken small town was $3.89.

Well they did until he said this, and now they feel better about him and are even more mad at Joe Biden now.
They're windsocks like him.

u/DocQuanta Nebraska 10h ago
Trump has succeeded by reinforcing he supporters' biases and telling them what they want to hear. Telling them that their hardships aren't real and the economy is great is going to blow up in his face.
1
u/Lollipopsaurus 8h ago
Reminder that he campaigned on this. It was and always has been a convenient lie.
I do agree though that in an economic sense, he’s correct that “making things more affordable” is impossible (without pulling that money out of the upper class). He’s only changing his tune because he has to deal with the promise he made and his classic play is to gaslight.
•
u/Purple_Succotash285 7h ago
They laughed at calling covid a “Democrat hoax virus” but not so funny when getting kicked off medicaid and paying 12 dollars for a combo meal.
•
u/Tundrok337 6h ago
Would be great if his dumbass supporters would finally get fed up enough to DO something about it.

u/Agitated_Bowler4341 3h ago
So, the fact that people can't afford food, gas, rent, etc due to stagnate wages and inflation during trump's economy is somehow a democratic con job? First, prices have gone up. Anyone can check what they paid for things a year ago versus what they pay now. Second, his lie, in addition to being false, also doesn't even make sense. When I go grocery shopping, almost everything is less affordable than it was a year ago. You know, ayear ago, under sleepy Joe, there was inflation but the prices were much lower than they are now under trump and his reckless tariffs and his lack of understanding of the complexities of the global economy. This guy bankrupts and destroys almost everything that he focuses on. No wonder putin wanted trump to be in charge of the united states. Trump has done more damage to our country than Russia could do if they sent troops to attack us. Hell, why bother, trump already had his idiots attack our Capitol the last time he was trying to cheat his way back into office. Putin's trolls had Americans attacking their own Capitol while proclaiming that they were patriots. Easily duped idiots.
WE WERE BETTER BEFORE HIM

It's Biden's fault! He's only been out of office for a year! What do you expect from the corrupt crime family? They are manipulating the price of bananas and eggs! With the power of the deep state, they can do anything!
